My history:
I am a SWF, age 29, with a bit of a vacation addiction. I tell myself that Im just taking advantage of my good paying job and single status while I can! I was at WDW 3 times last year. Marathon weekend, Minnie weekend and Super Soap Weekend. On top of that, I went to Las Vegas, NYC, Chicago, Lake Placid and visited family in Michigan 3 times! I dont really deserve a January vacation, but until I booked this trip, I had NO plans for 2007!!! That just doesnt work for me so I started plotting .
At first, this was going to be a solo trip and I was going to go Jan 17-21. I was having a hard time committing because I knew everyone would think Im silly. Then, I talked to a friend of mine, lets call her Eeyore, whom I havent seen in over two years. Her first trip to the World was in 2002 with yours truly. 2006 was rough on her and it ended miserably with the unexpected death of her father. It was only a couple of weeks after this tragedy that it dawned on me a trip to WDW might be just what she needs! I was a little nervous about asking her to come because I knew that her and her husband were paying mortgages on 2 houses and some land. (long story!) I threw it out there anyway and she accepted the invite within a couple of days!!!
I booked this trip on December 22nd! Nothing like the last minute, right??? Im definitely glad I booked it. It made coming back to work after the holidays almost bearable!
Due to my new traveling partner and flight prices, we are now going Jan 26-30. Im due to arrive around 6:30pm and she at 7:00pm. Crossing my fingers for no flight delays!
Well be staying at Pop Century. I thought about booking a moderate, but my favorite is POR and the food court is closed. Rather than worrying about that, I decided to save $$ and stay at Pop. Ive stayed there a few times already and its just fine with me. Someday, Ill stay at a deluxe, but I just cant stomach the cost difference yet!
Were trying the dining plan for the first time. Im worried about it being too much food since I usually dont eat that much on vacation. At the same time, I want to try some table service restaurants that I normally wouldnt eat at because of time and $$. I do like that my food is paid for in advance!
Were also going to the Pirate & Princess party on the 29th. Im very excited for this since Ive never been to a MVMCP or MNSSHP and it just looks cool!
I just found out this week that Eeyore and husband have sold the land and the 2nd house!!! Im so relieved that this trip wont be too much of a financial burden!
What I hadnt anticipated Eeyore went through with her 4th IVF treatment last Thursday. I think I have to give her shots while were there! Ive never done that before, but I guess its for a good cause! Anyway, this is a good time to see if I can pull off a somewhat relaxing Disney trip. Ive scheduled a sit-down meal and break for every day. We shouldnt have to run around crazy trying to get on all of the big rides because I wont let her go on them!! Well just go slow, take it all in and enjoy each others company. And, wouldnt it be great if the 4th time was the charm????
Heres the tentative plan:
