Does everyone receive a certificate for a free pin Lanyard (1) when usiong ME? I am asking because I have received one each time and I will have an extra. If this is true, would it be ok if I gave the one I received to some kid to use or would it be better if I picked up the Lanyard and just gave it to some small 5-9 year old kid? Trying to spread some pixie dust. :cool1:

So give certificate or give lanyard. Do you think this will be invasive of me to the other parents? I dont want to give it if they dont want the child to have it. Should I ask the parent first then if ok give to the kid. Or I like this idea better, give to the kid and drift off into the magic. So no thank you is necessary just the big smile. I would of course make sure the parents are close by so some will see me give but leave prior to speaking.

OK did I confuse everyone?

I would think asking the parents is a better idea. Some parents could really freak out...don't know why, but they could. One time we were at Kentucky Kingdom and my dad (who looked kinda scruffy, I know) tried to give some people extra tickets we had. Tickets...for free... You should have seen the people looking at him like he was trying to "get" them. :rotfl2: I know it's only because you almost have to be so afraid these days, but...good grief.

Wonderful idea! Either way, I'm sure you'll put a smile on someones face. I think it's great!

I have given pins to kids all over Disney. No one has ever freaked out... so I keep doing it. (Kids are much more accepting they just take and don't assume you want anything.)

Of course the truth is that if someone freaked out I would probably never know. I am kind of a hit and run giver. I give the kid the pin and keep moving. I don't want the family to think I am hanging around waiting for praise or anything....

Hey, that sounds like what happened to me today at Target.
A couple with 4 little children were struggling to get things in their SUV while one child was having a meltdown.

The father went to take his cart back to the store. I was heading to the store. I told him I'd be glad to take his cart back. He looked at me like I had a third eye. He told me no , wheeled the cart back to the store, and I was right behind him. After the cart was inside the store I grabbed that same cart and used it.

I've given a few pins and lots of glow bracelets to little kids during our last WDW trip. I've always asked the parent first. Only once was I told no thank you.

OMG I forgot they had a pin attached. I better ask the parent as I am a very bad judge of kids ages. I can see myself giving a pin to a kid and having him/her put it in their mouth and choking on the mickey head on the back.

thanks for the input.
