MDE question re "stay signed in"

I saw on another thread someone saying that they chose "stay signed in" on their MDE app settings. I see no such option on my Android app version of MDE. Can someone tell me if this is exists and, if so, how to access it?

I had to log in a couple of times on my last trip to WDW in December, and this happened at extremely inconvenient times--one of them when I was trying for a RotR boarding group.

So, if it's possible to set MDE to never sign out, I'd love to know how to do that. Thank you!

Hmmm I use Face ID on my iPhone. My husband has a Galaxy S8 Active and he is still signed in from our November trip.

Is your app up to date?

My app is up to date. I haven't been kicked out recently, but I was kicked out on our last trip. When I saw that there was a "stay signed in" feature, I wanted to utilize it, however, I cannot find it and perhaps it doesn't exist on Android?

Not sure. I will say that I have issues with the app while I am in WDW, so I use the web browser more.

I've used that too, but, FYI for everyone reading this thread--only the app works to get a boarding group for Rise. The web browser is useless there.

I have an Samsung and mine stays on logged in. I think once when I logged in, there was a little check box under the password that said remember me, not 100% sure though. Mine will stay logged in if I just close the app and don't specifically log out. I do get kicked out once and awhile, but not very frequently. I do check I'm logged in if there is something time sensitive I'm using it for like boarding groups a few minutes before.

I'm on Android and I tend to stay logged on. Once in awhile I need to sign in again...likely most often when they send an app update.

The frustrating thing for me was that I was logged in, the app had been on and hadn't asked me to log in again, then the very morning I was there to get a BG, I was logged in before I tapped in at the tapstiles, then immediately the damn app wanted my password and there was a mess-up with the password because of Disney+, which at the time I didn't realize didn't use a discrete password but in fact uses the same password as all the Disney sites, and and and I'm boring myself! So very very bored!

The only point being, if there's a way I can specifically tell MDE to stay logged in, I'd like to know what that is. Someone on the RotR thread mentioned this, but I cannot find out anything further.

This is mine right now but I am at home and haven't been to WDW in six years so I just recently added the app.

OH MY! I would have totally FREAKED OUT!:scared::crazy: I hope you were still able to get the boarding pass. Now, you have me worried the same thing will happen when I go in June. Oh, boy!

I do not know of any place to tell it to keep you logged in.
Much like the web version of MDE, it will kick you out periodically. But not in the way you think, it's like you are only partly signed in
For example, I just tried to do online check in on the app.
When I opened the app and clicked on the resort there was no "start check in" button. I could see the resort stay, move FP, do several things. But to do things like online check in I had to sign back in. The only ways I know to do that is to view my profile or sign out and then back in. If you are "half signed out" or whatever you want to call it, and you click on something like profile details, it will prompt you to sign back in. I am on iOS and have face rec turned on so all it does is pop the log in screen up and scan my face, and I'm signed in.

Same thing happens on the website. You can appear signed in up at the top where it shows your name but if you click on the profile details it will prompt you to sign in again.

I hate the way it does that and have repeatedly reported as such when a survey pops up

My app has "stay signed in" enabled. But occasionally, if the app crashes or something, you might still have to sign in again. That's when it's also helpful to have face ID or touch ID enabled for signing in, as it takes a lot less time than typing in your password (and LOTS less time if you have to remember what your password is!).

IIRC, the "stay signed in" block check was in the same place as "enable touch" for sign-in. That being said, I just signed out and signed back in and I don't see it now. Maybe because I already selected it previously and that choice is still remembered?

I think they've removed it from the app settings inside the app
I see the option to turn off/on Face ID in the app settings in the Settings area of the phone but that's it

I was freaked out, but fortunately my sister was there with me and she had no problem and got us our BG. A GET CM helped me with the password, so it all turned out okay.

Thanks, @AngiTN, for your detailed response--and for reporting this stuff back to Disney. It's no surprise that MDE is funky.

I don't have facial recognition or finger imprint activated on my Android phone. I feel like Google already knows too much about me!

I hope it won't happen again, but I'm prepared if it does, since I figured out what went wrong with my password in December. I'd given Disney+ a different password from my MDE password and Disney decided that that was now the password for everything, which I hadn't realized. This is so very very boring! But I know for sure what my password is now.

It's the random nature of the logging out that's annoying, and in the case of trying to get a BG for RotR that day, it was downright infuriating, although everything turned out all right. Ah well. I hope this is the very worst problem I ever have! :)

we use android, and on the app it stays signed on while on the website it signs us out
