MDE - partially used old tickets

Today I added an old ticket to my MDE account that was put on a plastic card last April by a cast member. She said there were only 3 days left. When I put it in MDE, it just says it's a 10 day non-expiry ticket.

Has anyone had experience with this and is it that MDE does not tell you how many days you have left on an old ticket? I'm assuming it does not have the original 10 days, but that sure would be nice! :flower1:

so, I have this. On the computer, I cannot tell. But, if I use the app on my phone and go to tickets, it tells me how many days are left.

It is a 10-day non-expiry ticket. That's the type of ticket and has nothing to do with how many of those 10 days are remaining. And while the app is supposed to tell you how many days remaining, I would go by what the cast member told you when you put the ticket on the card - the app has been notoriously buggy for accurate descriptions of how many days are left on legacy tickets (especially if those tickets also include legacy water park or plus admissions). I have had a similar ticket on my MDE for years now and I've seen "days remaining" change and/or disappear a few times . . . but everytime I confirm with guest services they have a consistent record.

We stopped at one of the in-park guest experience umbrellas a couple of weeks ago to check on DH's remaining park days (guest service lines were always too long). I tried to check by making park reservations for next May, but it let me make an unlimited # for some reason. He has an old 10 day NE with 9 water park days left and his current one has 5 park and 10 wp days. Some day we will just go and do water parks.

Thank you! I just looked on my phone and see that you are correct and it shows 3 days remaining. Oddly, it is the only ticket I am able to see on Tickets & Passes because, though it says 1 of 12, it's not letting me scroll. Anyway that was the only one I really needed to see right now. :)

On my app, I flick sideways to see each… we have 10 day non expiration, with water park days left, 10 day with park days left, and other tickets. It’s a process to keep track… but I loved those old 10 day tickets

I didn't add all my old tickets to my MDE yet, even though they are now on new plastic cards. I don't want them being used in the wrong order. I miss those old tickets, too! And the old prices! :)

There are also older threads that discuss this subject. If you have a VERY old ticket that was manually printed and never entered into the Disney system, you can get assistance by going to guest services who can look up such things. Newer tickets might be viewable in MDE, just depends on the age of the ticket. But on-site guest services can help with whatever older non-expired tickets you might have.

So I already have unactivated APs on may MDE account which I don't want to use until next year. We also have a couple of partially used very old (late 80s) 10 day non expiring with waterpark paper tickets. If we go to guest services and get those put on plastic cards, they can then be used one day at a time and will still retain their non-expiring status? If that is correct I might like to use a day or so in December to see the holiday parks but there would still be days left on the old tix. Can I set up a different MDE act, maybe under my husband's name, and put these tickets there so I won't ever have to worry about them getting accidentally used instead of my AP when I scan into a park after the AP is activated? Would I have to use a slight variation on our names, like use initials, to distinguish between them? I know all our magic bands are linked to my existing MDE names so I just wouldn't be able to use the bands and would have to use the plastic ticket or new phone app....Correct?
Sorry if this is a confusing run on question.

Yes, you will still be able to use them 1 entitlement at at a time with no expiration. You will need to make theme park reservations, so at least initially make sure there are theme park reservations available for the day you choose to do this because you won't be able to make them in advance.

You could set-up another MDE under your DH's name. But I might go with setting up a new profile under your current MDE. Just be sure to assign the tickets to the right person, because once it gets used a first time it can't be transferred to anyone else.

Yes, initials or middle name or something.

Correct. If you set-up new profiles/new MDE unless you purchase a MB for the new profile, you will not be able to use your existing MBs. Unless you simply link the tickets to your existing profiles and have WDW prioritize which ticket you want to use.
