MCO to Boston-any tips on cheapest flights for April?

We'll be travelling with another family and my friend just found a flight returning to Boston on Monday 4/27/09...a day later than we originally planned, but it's not a horrible thing to stay in Orlando a little longer!! :woohoo:

She found a flight on United leaving MCO at 9:10am, with a stop at IAD, getting back to BOS at 2:00pm. It was coming up as $180 in the wee hours of the morn today, but just now we got them for $135. I still can't believe I'm this pleased at getting a one-way for that price, but that's what we get for travelling at Spring Break!

Thanks again for all the great advice and feedback!

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned already, but you might be better off leaving BOS (or whichever airport you end up flying out of) a couple of days early to get cheaper airfare. Sure, you'll have to pay for a hotel room for a night or two, but even doing that you'll still come out ahead because the flights a few days before vacation week will probably be a lot cheaper.

We've flown JetBlue from BOS to MCO for April vacation '07 and April vacation '08. In '07, we flew out of BOS on Patriot's Day and came home the following Mon. In '08, we flew out of BOS the Wed before school vacation and came home the Thursday of school vacation week. If we had wanted to go Sat-Sat or Sun-Sun of vacation week, it would have been $800 pp RT, and this was on the first day JB fares were released! We ended up paying $300 pp RT for our Wed-Thurs trip. Still high, but much better than $800 pp.

I know it might be difficult to be really flexible since your doing a cruise, but definitely look into going a day or two early and/or staying a day or two after the cruise. It might save you a lot.

Have a great trip! I will be patiently (or not so patiently :badpc: ) waiting for JB to release the April fares. Last year, they released them in Sept. The year before, it was July.
