We're planning on driving to Port Canaveral from Southcentral, PA for our November 27 cruise on the Magic (11/27-12/04 - Week after Thanksgiving). We flew two years ago from BWI to MCO in November 2002 (Friday before to Friday after Thanksgiving). For our family of four we paid a little under $800 total on USAir.

What has everyone been paying lately? We'd be flying into MCO the on Black Friday at the latest and flying out the first Saturday in December after we get off the ship. Is it unreasonable to think we could get flights for around $600 for our family. We could fly in Thanksgiving Day if necessary. I was thinking that might be a less crowded day to fly since most people are already at their destinations. Any suggestions?

First, forget about MDT (although it's a cute little airport) unless you don't mind mulitple stops and/or plane changes.

Stick with BWI and definitely check out SWA. Last year we flew non-stop BWI-MCO for $495 roundtrip. That was for four people! The previous year we flew US Air for almost $800! BWI is going through some construction but we had no problems for being our first time flying out of there. We did not encounter more than 5 min waits at check in or security! (BTW, we were the first SWA flight to MCO in the morning.) If you have any other questions I'll try to answer them. Good luck!!

We just got home from WDW, we were there from Dec. 7th-14th and left out of BWI on SWA. We had a direct flight it only took 2hrs and for 5 of us it was $742.00 round trip. We are going again to WDW this April 18th-27th and there are 5 of us and the cost was $882.50 as I just got those last week. That is higher because of spring break travel. I love Southwest and would stick with them. From Harrisburg BWI was an hour and half drive. Not bad for the cost savings. So where are you from....I'd love to be in touch with a local Diser.
