Disney Things you have just for Disney trips

I wasn't sure where best to post this thread but landed here.

As I have just added another possession intended only for Disney trips (birthstone Minnie earrings), I started wondering if this is a strange purchasing habit. Some other items in my Disney trip bag awaiting future visits include, leopard print Havaianas (only used at Animial Kingdom lodge) and a Nightmare before Christmas wallet (only used when visiting during the Halloween events - how can you resist when you find it in new condition at a consignment shop for $5?).

Anyone else have Disney-trip targeted possessions?

I do! I have a few themed Loungefly and Harvey's bags that are Disney themed. I only use them when I go to Disney. Same for some Mickey Mouse/Disney jewelry I've bought from BaubleBar, and unless it's really subtle, I don't wear it when I am home/work. I do have a few less obviously Disney things I do wear, aside from Disney t-shirts or sweatshirts. I wear those at home, but I don't go "all out Disney" when I dress. I do have a beautiful silk scarf with a leopard/abstract Mickey head pattern on it. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it and most people don't realize it's Disney themed (that is what I like). But no, not a strange purchasing habit!

DH and I have dozens of tee-shirts with Disney Halloween, Christmas, etc. which I bought mostly through LandsEnd on clearance and ironed on decals and sparkly things from Etsy. I have a lot of brand new tees which I can order decals for. During covid, I swear LE thought no one would ever buy clothes again. Some supima cotton tees were $4-5 at the time.

DH has a collection of Aloha shirts mostly from Polynesian and The Contemporary shops, bought on clearance AND DVC or AP discounts.

I have a collection of D&B bags mostly from WDW, and some online all on heavy clearance which are appropriate for different seasons.

I have a collection of ears and DH has hats. I do have a few polka dot scarves and one with Tinkerbell. Lots of earrings.

We both have Ray Ban sunglasses from DS which we had prescription lenses put in. The only thing that wasn't on sale.

We have tags on our luggage with WDW themes mostly from EPCOT.

It has taken years to accumulate this stuff! :tink:

We have some items, mostly clothing. My husband has a Hawaiian shirt he got at Poly and a few hats. We have a Mickey rain jacket. I was just thinking the other day how I have an animal print shirt I only ever wear at Animal Kingdom, lol. It’s not my usual style, but I bought it on sale before a trip several years ago and continue to pack it. It still looks brand new!

I have a few Loungefly bags and purses that never get used outside of going to Disney. Same as others, I also have a lot of Disney related clothing (mostly ride t-shirts) that only ever get worn in the parks too. I also have one of those Disney spray fan bottles that only ever needs to be used in Florida!

Oh and my poncho of course, one of my most prized and useful Disney possessions 😂

I have a couple fanny packs, but I'll wear them elsewhere if they fit the task.
I also have a small backpack that I only used once, because the straps are too short to be comfortable and it's a single compartment, which makes organizing it annoying. It's a Disney print. I probably should just list it back on eBay.

Most of the rest of the Disney themed stuff I have is practical enough for any mostly outdoor outing.

I also have Disney jewelery. Mickey cubic zirconia earrings and engagement ring which I wear with a silicone wedding ring . Mickey necklaces . I don’t bring my real wedding rings because I’m afraid they’ll slip off in the pool if the colder water makes my fingers a little thinner than usual . Earrings and necklace that look like Mickey ears . I only wear them in Disney. Character shirts . Mickey baseball cap.

Likewise, I don’t travel with real wedding rings, but have plenty of Disney jewellery, including rings. A few pieces always come along. My daughters and I have matching scarves (maybe pashminas?) that are reversible weave with subtle Mickey heads. Done in reds and silver, they are perfect in the holiday season, but not so Christmas-y that they cannot be used year round. Love these, as they provide a nice bit of warmth on cooler evenings.

I have a Dooney & Bourke Mickey & Minnie Sketch backpack, purse, and wristlet that I use for every trip. I love the backpack so much that I have used it for other flights going elsewhere. I own lots of jewelry, but my favorite is my Pandora charm bracelet that I never got to actually wear in WDW or Disneyland. I bought it during the pandemic when my trip was cancelled. I have a boatload of shirts, hats, sunglasses, etc.
