We are wondering the best way to do this. We will go on our cruise before WDW this time . We were going to rent a car but will they take us to the port or will we need a Taxi? Then when we get back we wanted to rent a car , go to the outlet mall , the grocery store then return the car . We have always rented a car and returned it to the car care center . This time we see that we cant rent at PC and return to the car care center.

We cant be the only ones doing this :confused3 Maybe I am expecting it to be seamless and it cant be ???

HELP DISBOARDS !

Rent a car from an agency that has a location near the port and that provides a shuttle to and from the port. Drop off your party and all your luggage at the ship. Drive to the rental agency. Return the car. Get the shuttle back to the port. Meet up with your party. Check in for the cruise.

When you return, call for shuttle pickup. Take the shuttle to the facility. Rent the car. Return to the port. Pick up your party and luggage. Place ALL luggage in trunk. Drive to outlet mall. Whatever luggage wouldn't fit in trunk should be taken into mall with you. Shop. Return to car. Place whatever will fit into trunk. Drive to supermarket. Leave some people with car. Shop. Return to car. Load groceries around people (trunk will be jam-packed by now).

Drive to resort. Drop off party, luggage, groceries, purchases. Send party in to register. Drive rental to rental facility. Return car. Get ride from rental company back to resort. Call family. Hope they are still speaking to you after you left them to handle ALL that luggage and ALL those shopping bags and will tell you your room number.

We are doing MCO-Port-DIS-MCO. We are renting a car at MCO, parking at port, driving to DIS, Returning car to MCO.

The only shuttle I want to see is the one from the DIS parking lot to the park!

we have used budget. You rent at mco and drive to budget in port canaveral. Drop off the car there and they will shuttle you to ship. Then rent again at this budget place and when you get off the ship, you go over to an area where they shuttle will pick you up and bring you back to their place to get car. You can then return the car at mco. I know you said car care center but I never used this place.

Avis also does this but I had problems with Avis (not having a car for me even though had reservation).

It is a very easy drive to port canaveral from disney. Have done it numerous times and actually cancelled a cruise out of miami and booked another cruise out of port canaveral because it was so much easier and no hassle. I truly recommend the budget at port canaveral. Shuttle is free at budget.

I do know that there is a hertz at port canaveral but I believe they charge for shuttle and the hertz location at mco is offsite (but have also used them at mco and found it very easy to navigate)
