I'm voting for McCain-Palin. He was definitely not my 1st choice for the RNC nomination, but he's far better than the alternative of Obama-Biden, IMO.

No matter who wins, it'll be close and we'll probably see lawsuits flying all over the place. You have to remember that in 2004 going into election day, Kerry had a lead and still lost. Polls are unreliable, particularly when the people doing them admit to oversampling members of one party over the other.

Gosh, where in the world would I get the idea that polls paid for by various media outlets would be oversampling democrats? That's just crazy! The main stream media wouldn't be, you know, biased in favor of the democrats or anything, would they? Nah, couldn't be. That would be all unethical and stuff. It would be like writing a book celebrating one candidate due to come out on inaugural day, while moderating the vice presidential debate. The media wouldn't be that crazy biased, would they? Nah. Never.

They told us Gore would win. Wrong. They told us Kerry would win. Wrong. They told us Reagan would lose. Twice. Wrong. Twice. They're telling us Obama will win. Really wrong.

Get ready to turn to your friends in tears on Nov. 5 and say, "I don't understand. I don't know anyone who voted for him! The polls all said Obama would win. What happened!?"

Polls give us some insight whilst you have provided no insight other than pure wishful speculation.

I'm sure that there are many people who don't realize what they will get with an Obama presidency. :guilty:

Sure I realize what we'll get if Obama wins: real solutions to the absolute, undprecedented mess that George Bush and the Republicans have put this country in. One only needs to look at the course this country has taken in the last 8 years, and to look at who's been in the White House during that time. I absolutely believe that if McCain/Palin take power in January, the tailspin that this country's been in for 8 years will end...in a catastrophic crash. Barack Obama and Joe Biden are the guys who, if elected, will pull us out of this tailspin. Let's hope that reason prevails in November.

How can they provide "insight" if they are always wrong, unless you're suggesting that the "insight" one can gain from such polls is to assume that the opposite of what the poll says will occur, in which case that would be a reasonable "insight" considering these poll performances in past elections. The opposite of what they say has occurred far more often than the reverse, so yes, I suppose there is some insight to be gained, but perhaps not the insight you're thinking of?

No offence, but if you really, and I mean really think that the majority of polls undertaken are and were wrong in their predictions, you're living in a cuckoo clock.

Well, obviously I think that you are wrong. I hope that there isn't the opportunity to prove how very wrong you are. ;)

And I wasn't referring to you or some of the other active Democrats on this board. You obviously know what you are asking for. You are well-informed and well-aware of the socialist agenda that Obama is pushing. Obviously you are okay with it and strive for our nation to change in that way. What I was referring to is the many average Americans who are nervous about our economy so they are buying into the "help" that Obama is offering. They have no idea what their choice is going to cost them (in more ways than one). They don't realize what they are signing up for and will regret it deeply should Obama win.

I remember the 2004 election, Bush was ahead in the polls most of the time and won. This time around, Obama has been constantly ahead in the polls except around the time of the GOP Convention (with the Palin bounce). This bodes very well for Obama.

I'm undecided. I would not have been if Obama had picked Hillary. I believe that would have been the winning ticket.

As of right now I'm undecided.:upsidedow

Over here, polls are very accurate too, especially the exit polls.

I do, however, admit that a national poll may not predict the outcome of a general election - that's not how the polling system works. HOWEVER, it helps to see what said polls say.

Do I really need to belabor the point? Okey-dokey:

They said Gore would win. Wrong. They said Kerry would win. Wrong. They said Reagan would lose. Twice. Wrong. Twice.

And in THIS election, they are oversampling democrats in percentages higher than ever in history, some polls using a 40% democrat 25% Republican split.

Really. Prepare yourself. Buy Kleenex.

Could you provide me with some evidence that McCain will win please? Other than some polls have been wrong?

How do you know they're sampling like that?

Are you serious? You want "evidence" of an event in the future. Well, my crystal ball is tucked away just now, so we'll just have to go with the FACT that the polls have been wrong over and over, and they are ALWAYS, ALWAYS wrong in the democrats' favor, never the other way around. I'll assume this year won't be any different, because the media is more personally invested in Obama than in any of the other candidates they were lying for.

Kleenex. Go buy some. A big box.

They said Bill Clinton would win...

Oh wait...

Wait wait wait wait wait. You've been sneering that McCain will win - even your derogatory departing comment re: tissues says this. Yet you have NOTHING TO BASE THIS ON. And now you dare to tell me off for predicting that Obema will win?!

You know what? I am plumping for Obama to win. Why? Because I have a clue. I have polls. You may whine and cry about how polls are not infallible, but you have nothing to counter them.

Pathetic.

Rich... save yourself some heartache and add loco to your blocklist.

It's made my time on these threads much more pleasant.

They said Bill Clinton would win...

Oh wait...

I'll give you those, but it was a 3-way race, with Perot pulling 10-20% of the vote in both elections, almost all of it from the Republican. There was no doubt who would win when one party is losing 9-20% of its base. No doubt at all. If it had been a 2-man race, the polling would have been far, far different. They didn't have to lie and prop up Clinton b/c Perot was doing their heavy lifting for them. Remember, Clinton never won 50% of the votes cast. Never. Not ever. Those were unusual elections, and Bill Clinton owes his presidency to Ross Perot.

I fear you may be right.

I'll return tomorrow to see what insults have been thrown my way. As for now, sleep beckons.

Sweet dreams, everyone :flower3: :goodvibes
