Well they will have to cranck up the machine for us alll coming to town. :cool1: hahahaha
We like our Cervasas (Beer).

For whoever asked about the postage in Maztlan. I think out of P.V. I paid 3 something U.S. dollars for 2 postcards. If I were you I'd mail them before I left the U.S. or as soon as you get back.

Frank....as far as SPAM musbi. SPAM is a luncheon meat. SPAM is a brand. I don't know what is close in Mexico. We fry it and put it between rice. Kind of like sushi. We wrap it with seaweed that looks like a thin sheet of paper to hold the rice together. It's a yummy snack or can be lunch. I guess you just have to come visit our lovely islands so that I can make you some.

Alohatee...you can get Spam musubi's made for you. You are lucky. Oh, and I did find Calrose rice in the market so that next time I don't have to carry 15 pounds of rice with me.

Aloha lkohawaii:

We have restuarants such as L & L. Back to Lahina, The Loft, The Local Place (King Hawaiian Bread) to name a few that have Spam Musubi on the menu. Maybe a 2x3 size runs about $1.75. They also make with portuguese (sp?) sausage or katsu chicken. Go figure - this is Southern California :smooth:

We thought we saw an L&L in Vallejo (Bay area) but thought we were seeing things. That's not a bad price they sell them for. We can get them in our 7-11 for about $1.25. Wow, I could have gotten Katsu in So. Cal. next time I must look harder for an L&L.

P.S. You're up real late.

In Los Angeles, L&L is starting to pop up at every corner. Love katsu....
Taking care of my elderly parents does take quite of bit of my time so my quiet time usually is the early morning times (I guess I am on Hawaiian time).
Whenever you and your family are here wandering the L.A., let me know and I give you a tour of the local scenes. No fancy Mazatlan Frank's van but comparable. :goodvibes

We always made fun of spam although it is rather tasty.
Can't believe it. Spam rolls. I guess everybody watched the
food channel that day and it has made a comeback.

Ok, I understand about SPAM. I was thinking of Spam mail (hahaha, just kidding) It sounds very good. I am trying not to think about a lot of food (diet remember? hahaha) I took some nice people today to Tonys and I suffered, so much good food. Actually some were originally from Hawaii but live in Ca.
Anyways, I wanted to mention that today the Magic was still there at 5.55pm. I think I saw it leaving at 6pm- But people had to be on by 5pm. So all of you coming down, please check the departing time before you get off the ship in the different Ports of Mexico. Also check Port and Ship time. In Mazatlan it is the same time.

Have a great day all of you. I am going to sleep........Good night!

We were late because some people were missing and they gave thema chance to get back. My boys and I were watching from Deck 4 and there was a lot of pacing and walkie talkie talk while they were trying ot figure out where they were. Apparanetly they had gone to El Cid on their own (Nathan said he saw them there) and for some reason didn't get back. From what I could gather the rest of their large family was on board and told the staff they had gone to El Cid. DCL contacted El Cid and had them search for the missing passengers.

But on the important part - we had a great time in Mazatlan!! My boys were none to thrilled when I told them we were going on a "City Tour". Even when I told them that we would swim at the end, they were not happy. WIthin 30 minutes of the tour, they were loving it. My DS12 even considered stating ont he van to go shopping with Frank when his brother and I got off at El Cid. WE have friends that are sailing on July 9 nad the boys have both said they can't wait to get home and convince them to go with Frank!

Also the food at Tony's was delicious! But watch out for the margueritas! These are no happy hour sissy drinks!

Frank, thank you again for a wonderful day!

We are going on a tour with Frank when we go too. The Pacifica Brewery and city and beach. I can hardly wait! I think that tequila is stronger there then what we are used to.

Frank--Is there a place to get good cigars Cubans, my husband says they have lots of fakes out there. Tell us if we can find them in Mazatlan. I did read about a place in San Los Cabo to get them.
(Frank will know).
Michele

Debogan I really hope that they showed up. I remember that someone mentioned that the same thing happened in PV. No wonder I saw the Magic so late.
I am really happy that you enjoyed everything and the City. It was a pleasure to meet you and as I mentioned I hope that we meet again someday.
mgm61 There is a place where you can find nice cuban cigars in Mazatlan. I will tell you where. It is true that they have some imitations. It is like the silver, you must be careful where you buy.

Have a great day!

Mazatlan Frank

Can you post were to get them. Someone else asked me about the cigars too and they would like to know where.
Thanks and see you in 2 wk 6 days!!!
Michele

Hope that the Mazatlan expert can give me some insight into the Los Sabalos Beach Resort excursion (sorry if I spelled that wrong). We are travelling with my one year old son and there really isn't much we can choose from that we can take him. Is this resort "kid friendly", do they have a nice pool? Are the margaritas flowing ... HA that is all I'm thinking about right now ... 29 more days!!!!

Thanks in advance.

mgm61 The place I am talking about is called Indio Shop and its in the Old Mazatlan. They have another store in the Golden zone called Mr. Indio, across from the Hotel Playa Mazatlan.

stars918 Los Sabalos is spelled correctly! haha. Very good. Now Los Sabalos is a nice Hotel (5 stars) and I would say that they are kid firendly because not only the Disney passengers go there, but we have many Mexican families on vacation too, and a lot of them stay at Los Sabalos. I have taken people there and they have had a wonderful time. I am sure you and your child will enjoy very much. It is also in the Middle of the Golden zone, in case you want to walk around a bit.

Have fun!

Frank,

where was the place for "real/good" silver? i think you've mentioned some earlier, but this thread is up to 370, and thought it'd be easier for me to just ask! and would you know if they carry anklets? thank you! really appreciate it! :flower:

There are many places, but personally I like the selection of Michaels Gallery (Next to the HSBC Bank in the Golden zone) or in the Old Mazatlan, Indio shop (around the corner from the Shrimp Bucket).
Don´t worry about asking questions it is a pleasure to answer and to see that so many of you read this thread. I thank you all!

Mazatlan Frank

golden zone is not walking distance from where the ship docks, right? and old mazatlan, indio shop, around the corner from the shrimp bucket, is that anywhere near where the ship docks? walking distance? doesn't sound like it?

we are riding w/ Randi...would it be anywhere near that route?

and would you know, if they carry anklets?

again, thank you for your info! :flower:

Perhaps if you tell Randi that you want to go to Indio Shop on Angel Flores st., she can send you in a taxi. It is not far from the ship, by taxi. Walking it is kind of far. I would say a 10 minute drive by taxi. Cost, around $5us one way. I know a girl there at Indio, her name is Dora Lilia, she can probably help you. I am sure that you will find a taxi to get back by the Shrimp Bucket or you can tell the driver to wait for you.
The Golden zone is around a 20-25 min drive from the ship
Downtown is around a 10 minute drive from the ship.

Just so you know aprox times.

Mazatlan Frank

indio shop, that is the name of the jewelry store, right? and that's in "downtown", correct? and shrimp bucket, is that a restaurant? what else can i find at downtown? other shops/restaurants? any intereting spots for our family to stop at?

when you mentioned "ask Randi to send us in a taxi there", at what point would i do that? at stone island, after victors? or when we get back to the ship? or somewhere in between? i understand i would need to speak to Randi about this, but i just thought maybe you would know, and w/ the info i get from you, i can ask Randi...cuz from what i understand, we'd be making several stops to switch from the various types of transportation.

i'm sorry for all these questions...but i need specifics, cuz i'm traveling w/2 little ones, and would just like to know exactly where i'm going, what i need to do, etc. really am not looking for "adventure" here. now if it was just DH & i, i say we just go for it, and venture out, and see where we end up. but with a 3 & 6 yo, that just seems out of the question. again thank you! :flower:
