I did get to see Haley and Sdy though, so all was not lost.

I'll get started on my trip report soon.
I have a paper to write, then I'll start the trip novella.
I took yesterday off intending to work on the paper and the trip report, but then I was so depressed to be back from Disney that I stayed in bed with my puppies.

Welcome Home...

I wish I could take a day off~I got to my house around 1am Sun Nite-Monday morning and had to be at work by 10...I got there around 11 :ssst:

I am sorry to have missed you, I thought I saw you at the pool Friday but wasn't sure enough to say anything :confused3

Can't wait to read all about your first stay at Bonnett Creek, I was thinking about you wondering if you were able to stay in your 2 bedroom condo for the entire stay or not...enquiring minds are at it again :)

Ok I lied. It's not really new.
But here's a picture!

Inlinefornemomoo.jpg

Moo took it while we were waiting in line for Nemo. And I like it a lot cuz it makes my face look thin.
well, not thin.
just thin compared to what it normally looks like.

And yes, that is the DIS Celebrity Norah I'm talking to.
hehehhe.

Oh yeah - and her mom from Utah.

I promise to start writing soon.

fer real.

Norah's mom is from Utah? Wow, the things you learn from other people's trip reports. ;)

DISCLAIMER!!!!!!
I was at Disney World for 12 and a half days.
I met a lot of DIS peeps.
I did not take a lot of pics.
I did not take notes.

I will be relying heavily on the memories and pics of my DIS friends.

And my mom’s pics too, if she’d ever give them to me.

So it’s Monday September 17th. We’re at work. Cuz that’s what normal people do, right?

Tammy’s got like a million things to do before we leave on Wednesday. I have a little to do, especially since I’m taking Tuesday off.

So around 11ish, Tammy calls.

“You want to go and get Jeanie now?”

SURE!

So we run over, pick up the Honda Pilot, pick up Jeanie Beanie and - - -
Go back to work?
Ummm. I thought we were starting the vacation!

So I drop Tammy off at work and take Jeanie with me to my work. And show her off. And get her to take a nap on the floor. Cuz carpet in offices is PERFECTLY sanitary, donchaknow.

Eventually, I do get to go home and start packing the Honda.

On Tuesday, I go get my mom

(and help her finish cleaning the house for my dad and listen to him ***** some more about how stupid we are for going to Disney World all the time and how my mom shouldn’t be going and how all those times I told him I didn’t understand why people went and sat on a beach every year for their vacation makes me a hypocrite now cuz I keep going to the same place. But we all know that even if you go 4 times a year, it’s always a different experience. Cuz that’s the magic of Disney. Dagnabit.)

and drag her back to my house.

Where I lock my dog out of my bedroom, stuff ear plugs in, take a billion benadryl and go to sleep. Well, not a billion. But a few.

I think I finally fell asleep around 6 PM.

And Tammy wakes me up at 10:30 PM.
She had just gotten home from work.

Her first question?
“You wanna go to Disney World now?”

SURE!

So we grab showers (doesn’t everyone carry their showers on vacation. Heheh), my mom, and Jeanie and get in the Pilot. We’re on the road at Midnight.
It’s Wednesday.
We left on Wednesday, like we said.
Just the exact second it turned to Wednesday.

Here’s the Pilot packed to the brim
Picture002-2.jpg

And here’s Sleepy Jeanie still in her jammies.
Picture001-2.jpg

We pop in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (Tammy and I have both read it, but we knew it’d be something interesting to listen to on the drive. Plus, after having finished the Hallows, I wanted to refresh my memory on some details. JK Rowling is da bomb. Kinda like da bears, but different.) and drive one million hours.

punkin - No need to apologize! I felt like a total stalker cuz I recognized you! :rotfl2:
I felt like I invaded your privacy.

And- I'm starting to kinda like the me squatting on the curb with an extra belly roll I don't have (except when squatting on the curb)picture, FYI! I think it should make the rounds to ALL my flavo(u)rite threads. ;)

You ARE cute as a button! Squatting on the curb is very becoming to some people.

Yay, glad you started writing your trip report, Cel :dance3:

I had lots of fun hanging out with you, Tammy, your mom (who I could really relate to!) and Jeanie.

And I have a few photos that I didn't post on the Moovers thread and maybe some anecdotes to share. Wish I'd taken more photos, but I guess I was too excited about meeting everyone and experiencing that!!!

Alright....finally getting this show on the road!

I wish I had gotten to meet Jeanie! She is soooo cute!

RE: Your dad's comments about Disney.....that'd be my husband. We did a beach vacation for years and years! Now I can't see just sitting there on the beach when there's actually something fun to DO at Disney!

Is all that stuff you pictured what's above the top of the back seat? How did you see out? DID you see out? Moving into Bonnet Creek? Was there a cooler? We always travel with a cooler and a laundry basket. Cuz that's how we roll.

Can't wait to hear about the ride. Weren't you sleepy? :confused3

You don't need skinny pictures your are skinny silly.

Love the Mickey luggage. I could have used that to find my luggage on the way home. Everyone's suitcases looked the same. Anyone buying new luggage don't buy black!!!!

I am like Moo I didn't take a lot of pictures, I was too busy talking and having fun.

Cel is skinny!!!! And other things! Smart, uplifting, caring...I could go on and on...but then...I'm probably just biased.

And no....we could not see out the back window...but what is there to see when you are exhausted and have a beautiful sleepy angel??? Jeanie, for the record, was a PERFECT 2 year old to travel with. At times when she got a bit agitated or restless...all we had to do...was talk about MICKEY!

She LOVED meeting Mickey, Minnie, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and espeically Ariel! Oh she was soooo beautiful! (Jeanie...but then...Ariel was too.)

It was great meeting you!

:goodvibes ...talk about keeping a trip report..real....fun!

..i'm so gald tammy recover so she got to go to...what a trip of a lifetime
you guys put together...we're going during.....:santa: ,fyi.

lil g - Ooooh! You lucky duck! I want to go at Christmas so bad! Tammy wants to go for the ABC soap weekend (she's a diehard all my children fan).
I wish we could take the puppies on our vacation, but they don't allow pets. :( I did get to take him on my business trip last week though.

wheatie pie - Ha! I like that new knickname. It just might stick.

tammysue -

nab - thanks for saying I'm skinny. I don't feel it yet. Hopefully soon. And that luggage was on special for 39 bucks online a year or so ago - two suitcases and a bag. We bought two sets, but one of the big ones finally broke cuz of all my business travel.

lex - I wish you and your girls could've met Jeanie too. :( Oh well. There's always next time. We couldn't see out, so I just made sure to park in non crowded areas until we made it to the resort. We had a small cooler that fit under Jeanie's feet - I knew there weren't any Kroger's near WDW and the yogurt I can eat is a Kroger brand - so we brought yogurt down.
weird, I know.

moo - I had fun meeting you too! I was glad you were there for my mom for a few of the days - too much time spent together with your loved ones is not always a good thing.

Utah - I did not even notice that that picture might be less than flattering - I think you are so adorable, I don't even see your flaws!

punkin - wait til I get to the park day where I only had four hours of sleep and waaaay too much alcohol.

It really wasn’t a million hours.
It actually wasn’t too bad.
I drove while my mom, Tammy and Jeanie snoozed.
And listened to Harry Potter.
And drank lots of my morning spark caffeine drink mixes.

Somewhere around the middle of Georgia I started feeling crazy (crazier than usual, anyway) so I woke Tammy up and asked her to drive. We swapped places. And I let her drive.

for about 30 minutes.

Til I’d had enough.

And made her pull over.

See, I’m a bit of a control freak. Not a lot. Really. Just a little.

And Tammy’s not the best driver.
She’s not the worst or anything, just not the best. She likes to ride people’s bumpers on the interstate.
But when she’s driving around town, she keeps about 4 car lengths between her and the vehicle in front of her.
It drives me CRAZY! :crazy2:
I can’t remember what she did that night that drove me mad –
But I was all hopped up on caffeine and little sleep and I’m sure she whined about how she was tired, so I drove again.

Around 5:30 AM, Jeanie woke up and started crying.
We were bad. (Ala Utah, FLAMESUIT ON!)
We took her out of her carseat! Just for about 10 minutes.
She sat in Aunt Tammy’s lap and they read a story.
She calmed down some and we promised her we’d stop at the next McDonald’s.
So we found one attached to a gas station. I would’ve preferred one with a playground, but you take what you can get when a two year old is having a “I’ve been in the car for eight hours!” meltdown!
I changed Jeanie from her jammies into her Mickey outfit so she’d match me and Tammy.
Tammy, Jeanie and I shared a deluxe big breakfast.
Jeanie and I ate just a little bit –
Oh – and she got to have chocolate milk. One of her favorites.
And soon to be the bane of my existence.
Well, not really. It just got on my nerves.
So anyway, after our breakfast break, we kept on truckin’.

By this point, I was soooo tired.
Remember, I’d only had about 4 hours of sleep.
Tammy had none – except for what she snoozed on the drive.
But we had to get there!
One thing that kept me going was seeing the (I SWEAR I’M NOT MAKING THIS UP, PEOPLE! Look it up!) Withlacoochee river near Valdosta. And my mom was in the car, so I couldn’t wake Tammy up and laugh about it.
But here’s what I was thinking.
A bit before we left, Tink-ing posted on Mel’s trip report “And I've always wondered about the name of the kid's area at TL. 'Catchakiddiecreek'. Like, as a childless Disney-goer, do I just go over there and catch a kiddie to take home? Like, say, picking your own strawberries?”

So it got me thinking.
(A very bad habit, I know)
If Ketchakiddee Creek is for picking up unwanted kids, what in the world is the Withlacoochee river for!?!?!?!

I would say this was funny at the time because I was sleep deprived and had been staring at the road for too long, but it’s still funny now.
At least to me.

As we got close to the Florida state line, we started seeing a bunch of signs for free orange juice.
I REALLY wanted that free orange juice. Even if it was just a sip. Cuz I’m not supposed to drink juice anymore. Well, unless I want to get sick.
So we see all these signs.
And I ask my mom which one is the REAL one.
Ya know, the one we used to stop at when I was little.
She doesn’t remember us doing that.
Grr.

Most of them (I think) are timeshare sucking you in places.
I finally took a chance on one (look for the blue signs on the interstate that look official – it should be the right one).
This would be reliving my childhood!
This would be a new memory for me and Tammy!
Right?
Well, she didn’t even want to go in!
So I got an OJ for me and one for Jeanie.
Jeanie took one sip, dribbled it down her chin and didn’t want anymore.
I took one sip.
Now what?
They only give you like 3 ounces anyway, but we’d had about an ounce of our 6 ounce allotment. I did NOT want to toss it in the trash – especially with the free juice lady looking at me.
I grabbed Tammy and asked her to drink the juice.
“But I don’t want the juice.”
And here, I think I channeled Utah’s hisper (hisper = whisper + hiss).
“DRINK THE JUICE! NOW!”
I don’t even remember if she drank it. We’re just going to say she did. Cuz she loves to make me happy, right?

Ahhh. What a great family memory.
