We are in the early planning stages of our next trip. Wish they were not always so far apart. ;) My daughter will be graduating in May of 2018 from college, so it will be a celebratory trip, and we want to do it right after she gets out, so if she gets a job quickly she will not have to worry about missing work.

So it would likely be mid May running close to but not quite hitting Memorial Day. All of our other trips have been October or November and one in August (which was outright awful heat wise) but none have been bad crowd wise, in our eyes. I know crowds are all in the perspective. I have returned home from amazing uncrowded trips and came on here to read about people being horrified by the crowds. LOL

Anyway what is your opinion of how much worse crowd wise May will be than Oct/Nov.

Early May is better crowd-wise. Mid May isn't bad though. The crowds will be at the Flower & Garden during the day, particularly on weekends. Memorial day is always very crowded. The 24 hr special event is usually very crowded from mid morning on.

I like the weather better, flower and garden is happening. keep in mind your actually talking about when WDW switches into summer so the crowds will be ramping up, some schools are close to out (and high school graduation tends to be right before memorial day and they dont' go back where other grades are in until early june). Also around mid month the college program seems to shift and it's when things opening in spring tend to actually open.

I agree with PP that earlier in may will be lighter crowds but I find may crowds anytime to be lower than oct/nov but it might not be much lower.

Thank you both. It would be great to see the Flower and Garden. Been there for food and wine several times. I will try to make it as early as we possibly can in May without interfering with her graduation.

Our two favorite times to go are May and October (we usually have our trip in before May 15th though) besides the Columbus Day weekend, we don't find the crowds that much different. In fact we like Epcot better crowd wise w/o Food & Wine. The weather the first of May and end of October are both just about perfect. The humidity in early May is usually much better than in early Oct.
