May the Force be with who? A May 2013 PTR

have to chime in on the pp +

First, the photo at CRT is included... right? I am pretty sure it is and so you would not need to pay extra to get the hard copy. AND you can add those photos to the regular pp disc by entering the picture code from the hard copy into the pp account so the disc comes with the copies of those pictures.(all with no additional charge)

Second, even with the pp + you do not get the hard copy of the BBB pics. AND since you dont .. no need to pay more. You can have those pics added to your regular pp card. No hard copies... but you wouldn't get those with the pp+ anyway. They will come on the regular pp disc

THE ONLY time you get hard copies is at dinning locations where the picture is not normall included. (ie. 1900 PF, Donalds Safari breakfast... Hmm.. is chef mickey one?) So Akershus... since you get the hard copy anyway, the + doesn't give you more.

What does make it worth while is the digital copies of the ride photos (again... no hard copies) I believe those are more like $14 or $16 for a digital copy by themselves. But... be warned... if someone in your party rides without having that pp+ card they will not be granted that digital copy. You will have to return with the physical card to retrieve the photo and only have (I believe) a 48 hour (although...maybe it is 24 :scratchin) window to do so.

How do I know all this... well, I have chose to get the + at both DLR and WDW. Neither of which went well. It was within the first month that it began at DLR and I had a heck of a time even turning in the voucher for the card. At WDW we were a large group and it was a big ole pain getting those ride photos.... Would I do it again though? Well, if the difference is only $30? Yes! I think the photo package at TH or PF is that alone!

I agree I LOVED the PP+ at Dl, but I am so glad we turned in our voucher the night we went to eh park just for fun, because it took them 45 minutes to even figure out how to ring the stupid thing up. Apparently it is so new most Cast members do not when what to do when they see one, let alone even know what it is. The photographers do, but sadly just a regular Ol' Joe at the reg and she was looked at me like I was trying to buy a PP+ with Monopoly money. Once that was figured out though smooth as silk, the PP Photographers even spent more time with us most of the time, just be sure to chow that card fist rather then after.

It saddens me to hear the vouchers are still an issue. Folks on TP have been saying they finally got their act together. Heck, pirategirl (or one of the guys), can't remember exactly... anyway... said they collected the numbers of the ride photos and went back to upload to the account at the end of their day.

I also know there is a special place to get the voucher and you only get one card. Which is okay, but knowing me, I'll lose it.

I thought the picture at CRT was like at Ohana, where you had to pay extra to put it on the PP card?

IDK, the more I think about it, we'll have pictures on TT and Buzz, and those will be worth it as well.

Not sure when you read that about the numbers... I know we had read that before our trip too. As of the begining of October that was not the case. I even called up the photopass place while were were on our trip (ie. not the picture shops in the parks) and they said they do not actually own the photos until they are added to the cards but are rather owned by Kodak and there is where the trouble begins.

Hopefully we all survived Christmas!

We Christmas'd for three straight days, but in hindsight it was great because all we had to do on Christmas day was get up, go to church, stop at DH's grandpa's, then go out to see my family. It made for a much quieter day!

I've been pouring over TP's chat for the last several trying to get reports on how the FLE is affecting touring. I was bummed to find out that Storytime with Belle is going to HAVE to be a first stop kind of thing. Early reports is that Belle can only load 300 people per hour which is slower than the original Dumbo ever was!

I have also learned that the new Dumbo, Barnstormer, and the Mickey M&G at Town Expo are not tied to the regular FP system. :teeth:

We've not sorted out our tickets yet. The YES program rose substantially and only the child ticket is deeply discounted. DH can get discounted tickets through GM which are actually better than the non-participant YES tickets (by just a few dollars) but they are only seven day tickets and we need eight day tickets.

DH finally caught up to the extra days and made sure to remind me that he wanted a rest day in the middle of the week. I've held true to my promise of no early meals and to take it slow. I told him that I had nothing planned on our last day day (departure day) and I figured, depending on how much we got done at SWW on our arrival day would decide if we go into EP or DHS on our second scheduled DHS day - the day I set to do regular DHS stuff, NOT SWW DHS stuff. I did make a reservation at 50sPT that day, but I figure we could cancel that without issue if we left early or didn't feel like doing anything that day (though I know that I will want to...). I can and will leave DH at home.

Done it before, and I'll do it again!

My big question is, can I buy MY ticket through GM and only get DS's through YES or will I have to buy his and mine??

Did you see they announce dates!! Not sure yet when we are going but it is starting to feel real! Tanks for all the info you have given me. I really appreciate it!

I wonder if you bought the discounted 7 day tickets if you could bridge them once in the parks(Ie, you use it once and that makes the ticket "current value priced and then add the extra day)? If my thinking is correct, you should be able to add that extra day for the difference between a regular 7 and 8 day ticket. I think there are threads that talk about bridging tickets....

I'm woefully behind on all of my TRs and PTRs but caught this post.

I really agree that ETWB needs to be the first stop. Don't even stop to grab another FP on the way. It is adorable and not to be missed, but with no FP, it really is the new Dumbo. And no WAY would I want to be standing outdoors in the heat waiting through that line. It does indeed move VERY slowly. We had it particularly bad in that the FP+ test was going on while we were there, so the standby line moved even slower because of all the FP+ participants going in through the alternate entrance. It was awful. Both times we saw it we waited 70 minutes.

On your tickets, I agree with annmarieda. You should check to see if the GM tickets are upgradable. Some discount tickets are, some are not. But if they are, you can use them first, then upgrade, and your price will be bridged to the current gate price and all you have to pay is the difference (roughly $10 pp for that extra day).

Let me know if you need any other recent info from the field!

Thanks Janet!

It appears that you are back amongst the living!

I will have to find out if they are amendable. I think I'd rather do that than mess with the YES tickets. I'm half wondering if I want to mess with YES at all anymore. Skipping it means I have to find something else special for DS. He doesn't want anything to do with Pirate's League. We talked about the possibility of one of the pirate adventures (for just him).

Thanks Jenn. :goodvibes Yesterday was really the first day that I felt human again. It's great to be done (mostly) with al that coughing.

Hopefully he'll want to do the pirate adventure. We saw a boat full of little kids leaving the Poly one morning on our trip on our way to the MK, and they looked like they were having a great time!

Too bad he doesn't want to do he Pirate's League though. Katie tried it for the first time this year and really enjoyed it. The cutest pirates we saw were the youngest ones.

Because my mother made a backhanded comment about how stupid face paint and hair color looked on boys (when he was 3), he's had no part of it. :sad2:

Especially since they were in WDW when she said it.

I almost had to duct tape him down to paint his hair black the year he wanted to be Harry Potter for Halloween. Told him if he didn't do it, we'd have to exchange his school robes for Slytherin because he looked more like Malfoy.

I will also need to beg DH to let me have ONE RD day at MK. I don't know if I can get him going before 9 any other day.

Love the slouch backpack.

Why do you need to beg DH for a RD morning? Just go without him and get him to catch up with you later.

mom2rtk - Whilst I didn't know you were sick, I hope you're feeling better.
