May the Force be with who? A May 2013 PTR

Love the slouch backpack.

Why do you need to beg DH for a RD morning? Just go without him and get him to catch up with you later.
He's a little bitter that I've taken two other trips without him. :rolleyes1 And feels left out...

Don't get me wrong, I'll leave him behind if he won't leave by 10a.

He just likes to "vacation" while he's on vacation, despite my protests. We did PM EMH on our first trip and got spoiled by the late nights.

I've also sent him back "home" and met back up with him later.

There are a lot of things that I'd like him to see this time around, and we'll get more done at RD.

Especially on Memorial Day. In MK. With a stop at BBB and CRT that day.

After much deliberation, I came to the conclusion that we cannot possibly see Hyperspace Hoopla and F! on our arrival night.

I need to knock out a few things on our first day, especially the things that happen later in the case the family peters out.

So, here's the NEW schedule:
5-26

  • arrival day
  • get to DHS around 3p
  • Darth Mall for LE pins
  • eat (booked 50sPT but may cancel - especially if they have the R2 kids power packs again this year)
  • meet a character or two
  • ride Star Tours
  • line up for Hyperspace Hoopla
  • go home
5-27

  • RD at MK
  • take the kids on their first ride on BTMR and Splash (for DD)
  • BBB
  • Flag retreat for Memorial Day
  • CRT
  • MSEP? Wishes?

5-28

  • get to AK around 9:30/10a
  • DS wants to ride EE
  • Sanaa for dinner **requesting a window seat**

5-29

  • back to MK
  • CS all day

5-30

  • "normal" DHS day
  • DS thinks he wants to ride ToT and RnRc; DD thinks she wants to ride ToT
  • MM with F! priority seating

5-31

  • our ONLY EP day :worried:
  • use DH's GM badge to ride TT over and over
  • Soarin'
  • MS for the boys
  • DH's birthday dinner at Le Cellier

6-1

  • SWW at DHS
  • Characters and shows

6-2

  • completely open

Not sure. It's Gay Days at EP and if they bring in the crowds like they did last year (google said the event was 140,000 people last year)...

:crowded::crowded::crowded::crowded::crowded:

Then again, EP is the most tolerant of crowds...

:scratchin

Just wanted to join in!! Your plan looks amazing! We are planning a trip for May 2013 also (5/4-5/14) with some of my family (2 or 4 of them) joining us in the middle. Excited to join in the conversation and get pumped for our trip at the same time... first time joining a PTR :wave2:

Looks like our 5-29 and 30 are exactly the same! What time did you get for MM? We are doing lunch at 12:05. Got BOG for the 29th, but after reading some of the reviews on here, maybe we should just do lunch? Ugh. I guess we should just try it ourselves at least once! We are doing Sunday for our SWW day - it is so much fun planning! :)

Welcome along!

May is a great time to go. I took the kids (sans DH) at this same time in 2011 and it was awesome.

We skipped SWW though, wouldn'tve been fair.

We are in MM at 4:50p. When I first called they had no availability but by the end of the conversation one opened up.

I'd keep your BoG. Some of my friends on FB and TP said it's worth it. If you can get your hands on the gray stuff, I hear it really IS delicious!

Okay, so I want to get a SMALL cake for DH for his birthday dinner. I went ahead and ordered on for our dinner at Le Cel but am now having second thoughts since the chocolate moose is amazing and so is the maple creme brulee. :scratchin

Wondering if I should move it to our ADR at either Sanaa or CRT or MM??? We'll still get our "desserts" from the DDP, but I may try trading those in for an alternative somehow.

Will have to do some digging.

DS and I really wanted a bigger cake but the more I thought about it, we probably wouldn't eat all of it, so I've ordered the smallest cake available. But I also ordered it chocolate which I stealthly found out today that DH doesn't like chocolate cake. Which threw me because DH eats it at birthday parties...

Happy new year, too!!

Thanks for the warm welcome!! We planned our trip prior to the SSW schedule, so we'll miss that... Kind of bummed, but maybe crowds will be less?? At least at HS. Hoping for some good weather and low crowds ... DS starts kindergarten in sept... Not sure if we'll have too many "in year" trips, but I'm thinking I'll probably sneak in a few more before he gets older. ;)

The crowds should be great in early May!

I'd love to go then to catch the end of Flower and Garden Festival, but since we are out on May 24, going that time of the year doesn't quite fit with the end of school.

C'est la vie. At least we get out of school earlier than most schools so we can sneak in a few days with low crowds!

How many of THESE have you tried?

I've only had 18 and thanks to my allergies, I'll never be able to complete the list. I'd love to have ribs from Flame Tree, but alas, it will never happen.

I wish I could inflate my number based on the massive number of Premiums and Dole Whips I've consumed in my life... :rolleyes1

I'm also going to order our Photopass soon.

After much deliberation, I'm going to do the plus.

DD has recently become addicted, yes ADDICTED, to watching ride videos online. DS stayed with the ILs last night and she begged me to show her daddy the videos of BTMR, the "Yeti ride", and Splash.

DH doesn't do coasters and after watching BTMR, he asked about the drops and when I told him that the drops on BTMR are smaller than THE drop on Barnstormer, I think he's considering riding it.
