May or October?

Our next trip will be in 2005. Have always been to Disney in December or January.

Next year we are looking at either the first week in May or the 3rd week in October. Worried about crowds and weather.

I know there are festivities around Halloween.

We worry about it being too hot as either month we will be coming from cool temps with snow on the ground.

Any suggestions?

Both are great for weather. We've been there the first week in May several times and had 80-90 degree weather. It was less humid than summer and Sept. Crowds were bigger than early Dec or January, but not bad at all.

Have never been in Oct, but others seem to like it.

May is Epcot Flower and Garden Show, which is nice. October is the eat-and-drink-your-way-around-World-Showcase (if you choose) Food & Wine Festival, which is fun.

Have never gone in May but DD and I have gone in October. Weather was great and the crowds were low. Also we did MNSSHP which we really enjoyed. At MNSSHP we were able to ride SM 3 or 4 times in a row with almost no wait.:wave2:

I've done both May and October. A week later than you are thinking in both cases.

I prefered October. Honestly, I thought both times were hot (to my NJ senses) but October was more comfortable.

I really loved both the Food and Wine Festival and MNSSHP in October.

... but have been in May and thought it was waaaayyyyy too hot! It was also pretty crowded, as far as I'm concerned. We usually go in late Jan/early Feb and found the May crowds much heavier (we went mid month) and the weather too sticky for us. We also went the last week of Sept. in 2002 and despite the fact that it was fairly hot (mid-high 80s), we were used to it coming after a hot Jersey summer and it didn't seem bad at all... The crowds were nonexistent in late Sept., too, which made it much more manageable.

All in all, I'd definitely vote for Oct. over May!

Have a great time planning,
Sarah

We have been many times in both May and October and I like October better for the weather, if there are no storms around. I am in luck this year as we are going in mid May and the end of October. Best of both worlds. I am lucky.
