Then why did I have to check room only reservation?
Where did u find out this info?

When I called yesterday, the CM called my reservation, "room only" when she was confirming the deposit. She did say that if any codes came out, that that reservation would be cancelled and a new one made bc if u use a code, you have to get a room in the "code/AAA/whatever" block. She said that was standard practise with all applying a code even if they don't tell u.

Now I am really confused. :confused3

K.

Oh, also my confirmation page from booking online says that I can change up until 6 days before arriving,so it HAS to be considered a room only or that would be 45 days before, right?

I just called because we booked our room-only ressie online. It is true. In a sense they do treat those online ressies as "packages" in that they have to be cancelled if you want to apply a discount. The CM was really nice - he made us a new ressie over the phone that will be held to the 22nd. Then, if we decide to get AAA we have a room reserved and it will be open to other codes should they become available. At this point we will most likely get AAA and take the 15% discount - it is better than nothing and it will pay for the membership plus $50! Anyway, I am glad I checked the board - I have been waiting for codes thinking that if they become available we could just call and amend our existing ressie - thanks for the heads up!

So there are rumors that they will be asking for AP confirmation when booking now vs at arrival. Anyone know yeh or neh on that? I can go ahead and buy dh's but not all ours yet. If so, I won't have the voucher yet though right? Will they even accept an unactivated AP meaning just the voucher for reserving?

K.

I saw this in one spot and that's it. I'm not so sure it's true though. It would make those with vouchers very upset if it had to be activated.

I will not be happy because when I bought my MYW tickets CRO told me I could upgrade if AP codes come out. I would have waited otherwise, but it wouldn't be the first time that CM gave bad info.

They even went so far as to list the Codes:

Here goes (I hope they're right)

FL Code: EWZ
AP Code: EWY

What site did you see this on? We all have PAPs and it seems like we've been waiting forever for codes to come out.

TIA

I already bought my 7 day MYW passes. Is it possible to upgrade to a AP at the park or am I hooped?

TIA Christine

Check out the ticket info section on Mousesavers.com
I seem to remember that you can upgrade Park Hopper tickets but I am not sure about applying MYW tickets toward it, but I would personally think u could.

Thanks, Eeyorelover22!! I sure hope his source is reliable!!

This is the board that had the rumor last year and I (we) knew several days in advance. That's why I really wondered if last Sunday was the day. I got up anyway though :rotfl:

Someone else posted that for winter codes, they showed up on this board first a few days before and they were accurate.

Yes, you can...if the info I received from CRO is correct, but I've asked almost every time I've called and received the same answer. I have a 10 day MYW ticket. They can only be upgraded at the park.

FYI - just e-mailed my TA to see if she will be around on Sunday to adjust my existing ressie if this should be true (also asked if she'd heard anything).

She didn't confirm or deny the codes coming out, but did say the following:

"We were told that Disney is going to be asking for AP's that have been activated and have a confirmation number. No new AP's accepted. That is only what we here but nothing is confirmed. So we have to wait and see."

This isn't looking good - I have a voucher, but not an activated AP yet. This could start a REVOLT if it's true!!!!

I asked when I called and the CM I talked to said that this wasn't true. I guess time will tell.

if that is the case, then how can they advertise that you are able to get the discounts just as long as they are activated before check-in. I would be one of those people revolting against this. I sure hope it is not true.

I sure hope they don't have to be activated since all I have is the voucher. I can live with there not being any AP codes but I will NOT be happy if they come out and they are only for activated AP's!! :sad2:

I posted over on the other board and a TA posts over there so I hope she can answer this. I think she specializes in Disney Travel.

The plot thickens :confused3

TA answer:
It doesn't matter if they are activated or not. As long as you have one you can book the discount. You should have it activated when you check in though in case they ask you to show it.

We've booked our room for June but have not bought any park passes. Would this work?>> Once codes are released, call CRO. Check on whether I can apply an AP rate to my reservation (making sure they're available for my situation). If so, buy an AP from the CM I'm talking to, then apply the code to my reservation.

I don't want to buy an AP unless I know for sure I can use it on my dates. We're far enough away that I'm not going to be able to come back for a few years.

I'd be a little disappointed if they had to be activated. I just bought my family's first APs because we've just planned a last minute April trip that will make economic sense to have an AP - and if I can apply a discount than that will be even better. Any discount that may become available was not the deciding factor, but if one is available and it is for the dates I will be using the AP, then I feel that I should be able to benefit from it even if my AP isn't activated yet. To repeat the sentiments of other posters, time will tell. Hopefully it will tell my wallet something good! :rotfl:

I would hope that they do not do that! I can't see Disney only accomodating people with an activated pass. I don't see it in their best interest.

In the past, I have booked an AP rate and bought the voucher in the same phone call. I then called once new dates opened for additional bookings and told the CMs that I only had the voucher. I have never had any problem booking. In fact, I have arrived late at check-in with only the voucher and have had no problem using the AP rate.

In all instances where I have only had the voucher, Disney has been fair with me. As a "voucher holder" the only thing I would like is access to the AP portion of the website (I have paid my $ for the pass), but can see why this is only open to current, valid passholders.

IMO, you need at least the voucher to get the AP rate on check-in. The CM's may ask you for a valid pass within 24 hours of check-in - this is only fair.

Jalva22, what you are talking about doing should work. That's what I have done in the past, although with AP rates I just re-book the reservation then cancel the old one.

I booked an AP room once, and didn't buy the AP till I got there.
Pixie Dust for all waiting on codes!!!! :wizard:
