May/June Codes watch....

I remember the codes coming out later in the morning before. I checked in the morning and then went on to work, only to find out at noon that the codes were out! I do not know what time of the morning they were released though. :)

I think codes can be released at any time of day. Does anyone know who makes the decision on there release. The waiting is driving me crazy, I hope they come soon. princess: princess: princess: ::MickeyMo

Thats it, I quit! :badpc:

I am booking a package with AAA & not looking back. This whole thing is making me crazy.

Good luck to the rest of you. :grouphug:

I just solved my waiting problem, so tired of feeling like a kid. I just booked the Swan for their AP rate for our vacation at $169.00 a nite..
Now I can sleep.. I've had the flu the last 3 days and I need to lie down.
Good Luck

I am checking now before work. I then take my trip binder with me and will call during my prep time if something comes out. Problem is that I only have 1/2 hour break between 10:00am and 3:30pm! Straight classes with no time to be on hold with Disney! I hope today is not the day! lol

thanks for the update guys! so happy at least I have my AAA rate.

and yes, here on east coast expecting more bad weather. 60 degrees yesterday with a small jacket on and today I could be shoveling.

sheeesh...bring on June when I can be roasting in the humidity again......

When I called at 7 this morning, the CM was very surprised that I knew the date on which codes were released last year..hmmm...maybe I AM overdoing it!

So, several weeks ago I got this postcard from Disney congratulating me for planning a trip to the World this summer and telling me about the “great rates” available starting at “just $99 per night at a value resort!” :rotfl: My immediate thought is that Michael Eisner and all of Disney must think I am and idiot, and that I must not know about the DIS boards and Mousesavers and AllEars and that they are announcing the fabulous rack rates to the resorts. I promptly throw the card in the trash (proving to Mr. Eisner that I am, in fact, and idiot.) :rolleyes1
Then, last night at 2:30 a.m. as I am feeding my 8 month old DS, I have an epiphany and it suddenly occurs to me that it might just have been one of those special postcards that I am always hearing about. (Idiot!) I DO NOT panic, knowing as you have all taught me, that the nice CMs at the CRO can look me up in their handy-dandy computer system, but, I can’t sleep thinking about it and getting almost giddy with the thought that I really might be able to plan a trip for this summer (instead of next summer) if I can get a great rate. (Thanks, Mr. Eisner!) [BTW, my DH is really pushing a trip this year, probably because he thinks it will shut me up about going. Ha! Little does he realize that I am secretly hoping that he will be completely hooked, thereby insuring repeated trips!]
Anywhooo, I patiently waited for morning to arrive, managed to get my 2 year old DD and previously mentioned DS ready for school, got my husband out the door, and got myself to work and called the CRO to have them look me up (Disney, here I come, right?) Alas, Disney really DOES think I’m an idiot and that I don’t know that they were offering me full rack rates. (Curses Mr. Eisner!) :sad2: Sigh . . . Just thought I would share with all of you. And, by the way, I really hope they release codes for all of you very soon! Me, I will continue plugging away and planning for a Birthday trip next May (yup, that’s May of ’06) for just DH and I (leaving the kids behind).

If you want to check availability for any dates in the future for any WDW resort go to tripadvisor.com and type in the resort name you desire. You have to type in "Disney's .......... resort". When you get to the next screen you can click the resort that matches your inquiry. When you reach that resort's page you can click on "compare all deals for this resort" or something like that. While Clicking you may have to hold down your Ctrl key to avoid pop up blocker from blocking the next step. You type in your dates and it compares the rates that different web sites have to offer. I have always been able to find a room anytime, even Christmas at most Disney resort's.
Disney must sell a ton of their rooms to these web sites.
TRY IT!!!

Here a link in which I have taken you through the first step. Next click on your resort!

thanks for that info! I'll have to hang onto it for future use!!! I was trying to look for some rooms over Christmas for this year coming up and on the Disney site they seem to be all booked. I'm going to try your suggestion and see if I can get anything that way. Never did Disney over Christmas break, but there is always a first! :wave2: I hope we won't regret it.

Now you have me thinking (and that can be dangerous!) :rolleyes1 ...when you get a postcard from Disney, does it actually say "here are your codes" for your special rates or do you just have to know that a code is someplace on the card? :rolleyes2

Oh...could I have thrown one away too figuring it was just an advertisement for rack room rates? I sure hope not! :rotfl2:

I'd call cro and say that you may have thrown out a postcard offering a discount. It should show up on their system.

After booking great flights in January I started checking the boards since we haven't been in a couple of years. I started out once a day, then twice, then it became an obsession. Before morning coffee, at work, as soon as I get home from work, after dinner, before bed, I am addicted. I was up at 7 am every day of my vacation looking for codes...I give up. I booked the Dolphin for April 20-24. I feel sooo relieved. Now I can sit back and relax. If codes come out and I can get a great rate..wonderful. If not I have a great resort at a great location for a great price. I am in my happy place. :flower:

Okay, this may be covered somewhere in one of the previous posts, but I'm going to ask anyway since I'm still new to all this - when I read that a code cannot be used for a package, what exactly does that mean? I mean, does hotel, tickets, and dining plan bought together count as a package, or is a package all those things plus airfare? And, if it's the first, does that mean that I should just give up my waiting game and book with AAA - who can get me room, tix, and dining for $100 less than going through CRO? :confused3

A package is buying hotel, tickets, and dining plan together. In order to apply the codes, you would have to buy everything separately. Meaning you should have a room-only reservation through CRO, if you book directly with AAA you can't apply codes either. (Stinks, I know! :flower: )

Please tell me you're kidding!!!!!!! Do you mean that the ONLY way to apply the general codes is to a room-only reservation? So, if I want a package with tickets and the dining plan then I have wasted all this time wathcing for a code that is never going to help me?

Unfortunately, yes. As far as I know, codes can't be applied to packages, but that could have changed.

Don't consider it a waste. In the past, they've offered 7 days for the price of 4 and 7 days for the price of 5, so if that kind of package deal came out, I'm sure you'd find out about it here, too.

I hope so! I'll keep checking. Thanks for your help. I'll at least keep my fingers crossed for all of ya'll.

I've heard of some people being able to apply codes to packages, and some that don't have any luck. It seems from reading so many posts that it depends on the knowledge and "motivation" of the particular CM you're talking to. Don't give up yet!
