May is AWESOME!!!

I would love to go in May sometime but we have three kids in school. I don't think I'd think twice about taking them out for a week, but this next trip we are gone for 17 nights..........that's way too much time off and way too much homework! :teacher:

And as much as I hate the heat, I hate crowds even more. :rotfl: So late August, here we come. :earseek: :flower: (fortunately we've been a few times before during Aug/Sept so I know what to expect)

Maybe when the kids are grown........afterall, our anniversary is in late May.

Glad to hear you all had great trips.

I agree 100%. We just got back (9th-15th) and the crowds were minimal, the weather was good, and 85-90% of our rides were walk-ons!! :cool1:

Our only complaint was Saturday. We went to two parks and they were both CROWDED! :scared1: We won't make the mistake of leaving our hotel on a Saturday again. ;)

I had my lime green ribbon on my purse, as always, but I didn't see any other DISers. :( I saw a lot of lime green t-shirts and whatnot, but no one looked twice at me so I figured they were just wearing their matching shirts to easily find each other in the crowds, LOL.

Between short-to-no lines and Fast Pass my kids were able to ride their favorite thrill rides over and over and over again! :thumbsup2

May is a great time to go!! :wizard:

We were there 28april - 13 may. I found the crowds to be very light, we didn't wait more than 20 mins for anything. I actually found that Disney were seriously over estimating standby times compared to Universal who seriously under estimated theirs. :headache:
Weather was good, but air quality not great with all the brush fires.
We've only ever been in May so are very spoiled!
The only day we saw MK busy was sat 12 but I guess being Mothers day weekend it was to be expected.
If you're going in May - Enjoy! we did :thumbsup2

we were there from 11th-14th.. the weather was nice .. but I guess we happened to be in a different park on the days you might have been there cause all I saw was wall to wall people :rotfl: Ive been before over 4th of July and LaborDay weekend and I thought it was much more crowded this past weekend.. We did utilize fastpass as much as we could and quite surprisingly there were a few rides with little to no wait but MK was horribly crowded and congested.. Fantasyland was sooooo crowded as was Tommorrowland.. Thank goodness we were able to ride every ride we wanted to except Soarin was a no go for us.. We just couldnt get on that one and the fastpass was for later in the day and we had to head to the airport on that last day..

I told DH that I was not going during the flower and garden festival in future as I attributed the crowds to that and mothers day, but not sure..

Princessmimmie, HAve a great trip, maybe we will end up in line together somewhere.
We are staying offsite as always.

Weird, we just got back from a May 7-20 vacation, and we have NEVER seen it so crowded this time of year! We've been going down for 10 years these same weeks, and usually, there are extremely light crowds.

The weather though, was GREAT!!! Not too hot, not too cool! Although, we did get absolutely drenched at MGM on Friday night! It was a downpour!

There were hordes of school groups ranging from elementary to high school and naturally each group took up a good bit of whatever line they were in. Plus, and this is a generalization, some of the chaperones had a hard time controlling their groups and that impacted the lines too.

Yep, that's what we saw too! I couldn't believe that so many of the schools let such young kids run around all alone with no chaperones whatsoever! Some were only in 4th grade!

We left early on the 12th. Friday the 11th was starting to show some pretty good crowds, but the 6 days prior were great!

We saw a few of those children too. One I noticed didnt look any younger than my son, who's 9. I certainly wouldnt let my son wander WDW alone (though he knows his way around by now!).

We were in the parks from Sat 5/5 thru Sat 5/12 and it reiterated that early May is THE time to go!!!

I'll give you a hint -- to avoid crowded parks check out TourGuideMike.com. :thumbsup2

However, I'll say this... the MK was PACKED Sat 5/12 like I've never seen it before (nothing compared to the Easter pics though). We were leaving Saturday and asked our daughter which ride, in all the parks, would she want to ride again before we left. She said Peter Pan.

At noon I got a Fast Pass with a return time of 2:40. Saturday was definitely one of the busiest days I recall from any of our past trips.

But the rest of the week was incredible! I don't recall any line even reaching the "Wait time from this point" signs. Little to no waits at all. Most rides were walk-ons.

We did spend Saturday driving through some serious smoke, though.

I only went to MK on Sunday, May 6th and we had a great time too. It was only a quick 1 day trip, but I expected crowds to be horrible since it was a sunday and it was EMH evening, but I was wrong. We were able to do everything we wanted plus some. Some things we did twice! It was so great. Although I loved it though, we were in WDW for 9 days in December and crowds were lighter than May. But May isn't bad at all!

Everyone will start coming then. Like others have said it's the best.

Great Weather.
No Crowds to speak of. My longest wait was maybe 30 minutes without a fastpass. Some Fastpasses were closed because the actual waits were so small.
Epcot Flower and Garden Show
Sometimes Star Wars Weekends.

Only bad thing is the Park hours are a little earlier close than the Summer.
