We are currently scheduled for the 11/06/04 Western Magic. I picked this date due to the fact that the kids should be off school for an end of the quarter break and therefore would only miss 2 1/2 days of school. Now the problem is that the school doesn't know when they are going to start next year because it's a contract year and the start date is determined through teacher negotiations. We may end up having to go either the week before (most likely) or the week after (doubtful), both eastern intinerary. I really want to go on the western because I have already been to the eastern islands on an NCL cruise. I won't know the final start date of school until Feb or March. I'm concerned about price increases also, as we are a family 5, and will be staying in a cat 4. Any thoughts?

I wish I could be more helpful to you, but I do sympathize with you! I just realized this morning that starting with the Fall 2004 academic year, our college is going to be pushing things ahead by a week changing the academic calendar. EVERYTHING is a week later now than it normally was. What this means for us is that our originally planned December 11 - 18th cruise is now during Finals week and has to be changed. :(

Here is one happy thought: At least with either itinerary (Eastern OR Western), you will get :sunny: Castaway Cay :sunny: . That is a good thing, right?::yes::

scottygirl!! we are on the 11/4/04 Wonder. I know, only 3 days but I am currently planning 14 days this summer at WDW and think that while on our cruise we may book a 7 day. Good luck in your decision!!

Would it be feasible to make a deposit on the other week to get the better price now, and then just cancel the week you dont need?? Just a thought

mom2of2,

I really want to do the 7 day as I have been on a cruise before and I know 3 days won't be enough for me. I BET you will book the 7 day after your 3 day!!!

bemily,

I thought about doing exactly what you suggested, but we are going to Marco Island in January for a week and Christmas is coming up very fast so I really don't want to shell out the extra $1250.00 for a deposit. I guess we are just going to have to play the waiting game and hope prices don't go up too much. It's probably a good thing we are going during a non-peak time.
