May 9, 2012: 5 Night Bahamas Cruise on Disney Magic

Good Morning fellow cruisers, it is another big day! Exactly

Months is our embarkation and sail away!! Have a great weekend everyone!!

Online, it won't let me book a reward stay, DH said he would call. Since he travels so much he knows how to deal with hotels ;)

Christina- when/where is your DS going to wear a princess dress??? I'm debating getting one for leah but don't know when she's going to wear it?

I NEED to do something for the boys, they are always low men on the totem pole when it comes to clothes :(
I would love to find something good for pirate night.

Ugh, I had a target cruise in mind to book but it is a 6 day out of Galveston in Fall 2013. I wonder if the issues in Mexico will be resolved by then. It is not looking likely????

I may just go with the suggestions here and book a shorter one so the deposit will be smaller :thumbsup2

I'm trying to decide all of that too.

I just ordered my DD a new princess dress & nightgown from the DS. They had them on sale today. She is going to be so excited!!! princess:

Oh I bet she will be excited! I've been trying to decide if we will bring the girls' princess dresses or not. My mom bought them new nightgowns to give them right before we leave.

Hi Everyone! I just read through the whole thread. :) This will be our very first cruise. It will be me, my husband, our three year old son and our baby girl who will be six months. We are all so excited! I would love to be a part of the FE, although I hadn't heard of them before tonight. And I am not crafty at all. I will PM when I have a few more posts.

Love this! We have the same policy but with a more medieval twist. :rotfl: If the kids can't find what they're looking for and we have to find it, and we do they get a good ol' fashion charlie horse! Nothing send a kid up the stairs to find their coat like a punch in the shoulder. That's terrible I know! :lmao:

Not terrible! The point is that they often will ask instead of make the effort to look first. Then when you tell them where stuff is they go lift up 1 item and don't really look very well which brings them back to you saying whatever the desired object is can't be found. Definitely a whack-your-head-against-the-wall moment. I'm feelin' ya!

We had similar problems trying to book a rewards stay with Hampton last year. The one we first booked came back and said they no longer had room for rewards stays so we had to find another. It was kinda a PITA. We weren't happy. Hubby ended up having to call to confirm there was going to be availability and ensure the rewards stay was going to remain in place.

We saw lots of little princesses on dress-up night. What's more elegant than a princess gown, huh? Then again, we saw little princesses around dinner and the shows every night. It's really sweet!

Definitely do something special for the boys for Pirate night. It's so fun!

Galveston is less than 2 hours from us and we haven't booked anything out of there. We aren't that impressed with the itineraries. Maybe when it gets closer to time if they release some crazy special room rates, we'll see. I don't see Mexico improving anytime soon. Maybe DCL should be rethinking those destinations. Some people are so sure the tourist areas are okay but then you hear about things happening to the tourists. Something just doesn't set right with me either. It's a shame. There's pretty cool excursions in some of those ports.

:welcome: to Mom2Finn!!! Great to have y'all! You dont' have to be terribly crafty to do the FE. There's lots of little things you can do. Just think on it. There's other threads that give great examples and ideas, too. Just imagine what would be neat to have on a cruise or useful when traveling and go from there. Or, bring a trinket from where you live. Those kinds of things are very cool to receive! :thumbsup2

Well my DS will NOT be wearing a princess dress :rotfl: I figured my DD could wear 1 on the more formal night. She loved wearing her princess dress at MK. We are not doing a breakfast at the castle this time, so I dont think she will wear it there. I have a lot of cute things for her. I have 2 iron ons for my DS. He decided he is too cool to like MM so I didnt waste my money buying him shirts he would hate. He was Captain Jack for halloween. I will bring that costume for him for pirate night. My DH & I will do something simple. My DD will have a cute pirate dress

Welcome!!!!!!!!

SORRY!! Hahhahhahaa! you know what I meant!!
I'm so used to typing DS!

If you find any good deals or anything let me know, after 8 years of doing ALLL boy.. sometimes the girls stuff gets really really overwhelming. ;)

**sigh** First time at anything there's always that pesky learning curve. LOL! It'll be a little work to narrow it but not an impossible task. Not like I have to start over. I'd be heartbroken!

I can't wait to see it! The one you did for your last cruise was SO CUTE!

I sat and read all 29 pages last night... I'm all caught up!

Today starts day 1 of potty training for our 2 year old.... how am I going to research our trip AND do that! AHH!!! :)
Good luck with that! My DS was 3 before he was fully trained, and he still wears pull-ups at night (though he usually doesn't need them). But girls are easier they say!

So typical!! :lmao: But let's not forget the tween years with girls! Not only am I suppose to know exactly where her favorite shirt is, but I'm need to find it for her NOW!!!!

I should use that for my husband! Or maybe make him put $10 in the 'souvenirs for Tiffany' envelope for the cruise. >.> I might have to start hiding things from him if I do that though! :lmao:

I got an email for that and I was all excited, but the boys costumes aren't anything DS would wear for the cruise. Bummer. Girls have all the fun!

Welcome! It's so great to have you. Trust me I'm not crafty either and I was hesitant, but I decided it will be too fun, so we're doing it!

Welcome!! You can do anything for the FE, but whatever you do don't stress out about it! It's all just for fun, no stressing allowed!

Here's a question for you guys. When you put deposits on future cruises how far out can you go? 1, 2 or even 3 years? We're planning a cruise with other family members, but that's in 3 years when the boys in family are graduating from HS. Just wondering if I could put a deposit down for that cruise while we're on this cruise.

You will need to book what they call a "dummy" cruise. It is just for that purpose. DCL only has bookings available thru 2013. What you will do is go to the future cruise desk and let them know what you are planning, they are great and will help you with the process. :thumbsup2 They will book you on a cruise that is available, usually a short cruise to keep your deposit low. Then you will keep moving that booking until you are able to book the one you want. You will keep the 10% off and the OBC. Many people book dummies, I will be doing two myself! We want a Fantasy cruise '14!

Just be sure you move it before the PIF date!! You dont want to lose it!

HAha I totally knew what you meant.. just giving you a hard time :rotfl:
I can go nuts/broke buying stuff for my DD. There is just too many cute things out there!! I need to stop looking.... I am DONE

So true! The boy costumes that they posted were not my DS's style... even the pjs that were on sale he wouldnt wear. He has the pirate costume from the DS that he wore for Halloween. He will use it for pirate night. I got 2 iron ons for him and thats it. My DD on the other hand a quite a bit more :rolleyes1

We are planning on doing a Fantasy cruise 5/2014. So when you book ahead, you get 10% off and an onboard credit or it is the same price but you only put 10% down??

You only pay 10% deposit too but if you change the length of the cruise, you pay more. I think we are going to do a land/sea vacation 4/5 days and then some at WDW next year... change it up a bit.
