May 8th 2008 cruise

Hey everyone,

We are all getting really excited here. Only 28 days left!:cheer2: I'm guessing since some of you are seeing upgrades on the website that our cruise docs should be arriving soon! Yeah

Well, off to work. Have a great day everyone.

I will by all means take you up on that offer mdhkitten! It will be just myself and DS7 and DD11. My DBF (who has no kids) opted out to stay home and work while we are on vacation so I am looking to have some fun with other adults. How late do the kids clubs stay open?

I am getting over this sickness (Thanks Grumpymom73!) better to get sick now than in....28 days!!!

Oh and thanks to whoever said it in the beginning that since our cruise seemed lightly booked that we might be getting upgrades! I am very excited for the pixie dust sprinkled our way!

Woohoo! :cool1: It sounds like the clubs only stay open until midnight! LOL Not very late IMO, but I guess we have to get rested up for the next day! :lmao: Anyone else want to join us?

MODisneyfan: I saw in an earlier post that you said you are from SW Missouri and are thinking of driving. We are in NW Arkansas (just a wee bit closer) and we're driving. We love road trips and it will enable us to visit my mom for a day in Clearwater, FL (It's about 19 hours to there) on our way to WDW (staying 5 nights) before the cruise. This is no small undertaking, but our thinking is flying is always stressful for us (ALWAYS-my youngest always throws up because of nerves and I HATE FLYING!) and it forces you to really spend time together on a road trip. So, if you've got the time and patience to drive, I say go for it! But I do see why people prefer to fly, you just want to GET THERE!

I want to thank You guys for responding so quickly, it's nice to talk to other people who are just as excited as I am, everyone here thinks I'm insane  I will see what I can find for the FE, if I can dream up something before the trip maybe we'll join in on the fun. I'll keep ya posted.

 This is my official cruise docs dance!!!!

They were on my doorstep when I came home today!!!! :yay: :woohoo:

Anyone else doing the dance?

I don't think that I received mine. I got something from the Disney Cruise Line via the travel agent that is a nice brown folder with information about the cruise, etc. Would that be it? If so, then I received it about a week or two ago.

Did it have your luggage tags with it? If so then yes it's your cruise docs.

Now I'm just waiting on my FE to arrive.:rolleyes1

Nope, no luggage tags. I guess I just have to keep waiting! :)

Yes, no FE on my end either. They sent me an email today requesting that I go ahead and leave them positive feedback.............I think I'll wait! ;)

Woo hoo!
We came home late last night from our Spring Break trip to IOA/Universal Studios and what was waiting on our doorstep for us but our cruise docs!
Since we have adjoining cabins, I didn't expect an upgrade - We are just happy to be cruising with all you folks!
I've got to get to JoAnn Fabrics this week and look for some Disney fabric to make my fish extender. I think I will use iron on paper to personalize them with our favorite characters and names.
I also need to look for some pirate shirts for us for Pirate Night. We still have our matching "Disney Ball" shirts to wear for embarkation/Sail Away Party.
I really hope we can switch to Early Seating for dinner when we board, since last cruise, the Late Seating filled us up too much to enjoy all the delicious food out at the Pirate Party Buffet!
If not, we'll at least try for the earliest Late Seating time and not eat so much that night.
Less than 4 weeks to go (I gained 1 lb. back on our trip, only snuck a few onion rings at Margaritaville, but I'm back on track now and want to lose another 10)!
Keep on planning ...
Rose :)

We got our Cruise Docs! :woohoo:

So I think I have everything finalized! Booked our hotel and transportation to the Port now we are just on countdown!

Made a hair appt for May 3rd. I love my hair dresser Jeremy! He is going to make me vacation ready!

Got my fish extended today. I didn't realize that they should only be 8-9" wide and mine is like 14" so I think I need to get creative and figure something out!

Hope everyone elses plans are coming along!

Woo Hoo! 26 days to go! :cool1:

Just found out that we got an upgrade to Cat 10, but on deck 1. Not sure how I feel about that... Last time we cruised we were on deck 2 and it was much rougher and louder than our previouse cruises on deck 5. Ah well and room on a Disney Ship is better than anywhere else! :thumbsup2

No docs for us yet, but I'm hoping maybe today. Once we all get our cabin numbers, we'll have to update the FE exchange list.

Ladies, for those of you who are repeat cruisers, please give me your opinion for Palo. I plan to wear a fancy chiffon-like blouse and either dressy capris or a black skirt. I'm leaning more toward the capris since I know I'll wear them more than once during our 9 day trip. I know that the only time I'll wear the skirt would be at Palo. What do you think?

I have to work on my FE this weekend. DH drug the sewing machine out of the garage, now I just need to get myself in gear and do it! I am a world-class procrastinator. I plan to ship my goody bags to the VWL, then re-pack before the cruise. I think everything will stay more intact if I do that. I received the last of my "goodies" this morning, so I can start to fill the bags.

Thanks for updating the list CatawayJP! I'm enjoying reading everyone's posts.

I'll be happy to update the FE exchange list. If everyone who wants to participate will just post or PM me with their cabin #'s when they get their cruise docs and also a list of people in their cabin (we can just do abbreviations like DW, DH, DD, DS, etc and maybe the kids ages. Basically whatever info. you are comfortable giving) Then I can post the list.

I'll start...

"Official Fish Extender Exchange List for The Wonder sailing 5/08/08"

The Nelson Family - Cabin 2508 - DW,DH,DS14 and DS9

mdhkitten, I just wanted to let you know that my FE came in the mail today!:cool1: You should get yours soon.

Glad to hear that it made it! Hopefully I'll get mine early next week (I ordered mine a day or two after you). :thumbsup2 BTW, I'm in stateroom 6515, and it's me, dd (3), and my mom. :goodvibes

I don't know if I like this format. Is it easy to read and understand? I'm going to try and come up with something better. If you have any suggestions please let me know!:thumbsup2

Castaway JP,
We are in two adjoining Cat 10's on Deck 1 for this cruise and they are even almost the very last rooms at the "end" of the hall! I've heard that Deck 1 is quiet, since there are so many fewer cabins on that deck, but on port mornings, we'll hear noise from everyone walking down the hall to get to the Tender Lobby. On the positive side, getting off and on the boat when at Nassau or Castaway Cay will be quick and easy, since we're already on the debark deck! I also plan on taking advantage of the distance from the other decks to use the stairs as much as possible. Maybe we'll be neighbors!
Thanks for putting all our information together ...
So, here's our information for the FE exchange:
Stateroom Number(s) 1075 and 1077 (I think the FE will be on the door of 1077 since it's "facing you" as you are walking down the hall).
Names: The Devine Family - degrapevine (Rose), DH (David), DS13 (Eric), DS9 (Patrick-turns 10 on 05/17 so will be in the 10-12 age group), DD7 (Gina)
That's all for now - DisDee, you are ahead of me, as I haven't even bought my fabric or FE gifts yet! Gotta get moving ...
Rose :)

We are in 1047. I hope that since we are forward the engine noise won't be as bad this time...

I forgot to mention that a cruise tip that I submitted to passporter got chosen for their newsletter! For my troubles they are sending me a copy of the DCL Passporter! I'm hoping that it gets here before we leave!

Congrats! You should receive it pretty quickly. They are usually pretty fast. I get the newsletter every week and I would love to know what tip you sent it!
