May 8th 2008 cruise

Well,

I don't really get the FE thing but it sounds fun and I just bid for the pink mickey one online for a penny so we will see what happens.. I'm also trying to win a pink pirates shirt too.. I had one ordered but they ran out of the size I needed so I found one last night on ebay so... A little more then 4.99 but it will work..

I have to say that I am a little behind on everything tho, I don't even have my flight yet.. :scared: I am not a good flyer and with everything going on I am still debating on weather to fly or just drive.. I'm in SW Mo so it is about a 24 hour trip..

Also what are we suppose to put in the extenders??

So I have been dieting since my last trip to Disney World in February which included funnell cakes at midnight (not the diet the trip). My plan was to ease up come Passover. Now looks like its full speed ahead until May eighth.

So how's everyone else's diets coming? I have yet to go bathing suit shopping.

How many days left?

Well I have been on and off my diet for the last couple months. I started off by losing 15 lbs pretty quickly, but then my inlaws came to visit and we went out a lot, so I have put 3 back on in the last couple weeks. Now that they are gone, I am going to try and gt back on track for the next 31 DAYS until I hit the ship and then I might gain it all back in 4 days!

I have lost about 7 or so lbs. in the last few weeks! :cool1: Still have some more that I'd like to lose, though. I don't know what everyone else's weight problems are, but I'm within my "healthy" weight range, but since having a baby almost 4 years ago, my stomach and thighs have SERIOUSLY suffered. I definitely won't wear a bikini and am weird about my hip area. I love the losing weight, but don't want to lose the cleavage! :lmao: ;) :rolleyes1

I can't believe everyone starting talking about Diets today!:lmao:

I had been doing pretty good but the kids are on Spring Break. Today is the last day so we took a trip to DTD (we only live 30min away) and I had a Mickey Ice Cream Bar.:scared1: Of course on the way there I stopped at the mall and bought a pair of capris for the cruise that are a little tight.:rolleyes1 Guess I need to get back to work!

Like CastawayJP I will probably gain everything I've lost (20lbs. so far) back in just the few short days!:scared:

Every pound gained is worth it! I will not have any regrets going off the diet for the cruise!

Whew!
I just came back from a walk/jog with my DH. It always starts out as a walk, then my little 5'2" self has to jog to keep up with my 6'1" DH!
I'm glad to hear there are so many of us trying to lose some weight, even it's just so we can eat to our hearts' delight on the cruise!
I've been doing South Beach for the past two weeks (not even a bite of a cheat, which is very hard with our weekly church luncheons) and have lost 8 lbs. I'm glad to say my BMI just left the "Obese" range and I am now just "Overweight."
My goal is to lose another 10 lbs. before the cruise. I think I can do it, maybe even a bit more if I can control myself - This is our kids' Spring Break and we are off to Universal for a few days. I will have to stay away from the churros and slushies - Those are my weaknesses!
Three kids and way too many years of unhealthy eating are catching up to me as I near 40. I know now is the best time to try to get it off, as it only gets harder as you get older!
I am waiting until the week of the cruise to go bathing suit shopping - I'm hoping maybe to be in a 12 by then. No two pieces for me, but I might try for a tankini!
I definitely won't hold myself back on the cruise, though. I'll eat what I want, but will just be careful not to eat until I feel like I'm busting (such an easy thing to do having grown up in a big Italian family!). Also have to watch out for the fruity drinks (I'll limit it to one "Drink of the Day" each day).
Let's all keep motivating and encouraging each other - This is growing to be such a great group.
I can't wait to meet you all!
Rose :)

Good for you degrapevine! My sister and I walk 3X a week and she is doing South Beach. She has done it in the past and lost over 20lbs. ( She wasn't that big to begin with) I'm more of a Weight Watchers girl. I just like all choices that WW offers. I still have my bathing suit from last year (only wore it about 3 times) I'm hoping it fits better this year. :rotfl:

Hope you have a great time at Universal.

Okay I'm about an hour early (at least here in Florida) but.....

30 more days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I'm still at it, although today was a little bit of a "cheat" day! ;) My daughter's father is in town to see her and we ate fast food today and he cooked a YUMMY dinner tonight...........tuna tartare and a pasta dish! He leaves tomorrow, so it's back to reality and my diet.........got to save room for all of that yummy food on the cruise! Oh, and I'm definitely not holding back! :thumbsup2

I think I got an upgrade! So I checked my reservations online today and saw that we were assigned a stateroom #2602. I had booked a GTY Cat.12. So I looked it up and it seems like it is a Cat.9 on deck 2. I seem to think this is good not sure if I am right though.

Everyone is also talking about their diets. I need to get back on track. I haven't worked out in a week now. I have been sooo sick! I am going to try to go tonight after work though. I have lost 10 lbs in the last 2 months and only have 4 lbs left to lose to reach my goal weight before our cruise! Good luck to everyone trying to lose weight before our vacation!

Well, I checked my stateroom assignment because I had a category 12 GTY, too, and I did get upgraded...........to a category 11. Oh well, it will be a blast regardless!!! My mom is having a great time making fun of our room because she went on a big cruise to Alaska and had a porthole! :rotfl: Such a mean mother I have!

Boy I am a late-comer! Myself, DH, DS9, and DS10 will be on this cruise and needless to say we are very excited! This will be our first Disney Cruise and I most likely will have a lot of questions, so get ready! Firstly, I just checked our room assignment. We booked a Cat. 12 GTY, the room we got is 2504, which according to the ship's diagram is a Category 9! Does that mean it will have a window? It is awfully forward, I am worried about motion myself. I am iffy with the motion sickness, I get woozy in cars on hilly roads, but I can take a roller coaster, so I hope I won't feel any effects at all. Also, at the suggestion of Mousesavers.com, we booked a room at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island so we could do Atlantis for dirt cheap. It cost us $220, vs. what Disney charges for the Atlantis Aquaventure-$500! Has anyone ever done this before? I know we have to take a cab and approximately what that would cost, but if anyone has any tips, I would love to hear them. Also, I am interested in knowing more about the FE gifts. Do you get gifts for everyone or is it like a grab bag?

By the way, speaking of diets....
My husband and I went on "The Fat Smash Diet", it's the one they use on Celebrity Fit Club (yes I know, hokey). We both went on it in January and he has lost 29 lbs. and I have lost 13 of the 15 I wanted to lose! It is a great diet, you do it in phases like South Beach I guess, the first 9 days were really hard, but I lost 6 lbs. that first 9 days, so it worked pretty well! The thing I like about it though is that after you are done with all of the phases, your whole way of thinking about food is completely changed and it is like a complete lifestyle change. I could do this for the rest of my life and want for nothing. I'm sure it's a little late at this point, but in the future you might want to check it out. Oh yeah, there's an "Extreme Fat Smash" book if you're looking to lose 5-10 lbs. quick. I in no way am affiliated with Dr. Ian by the way, it's just something that's really worked for us!

Welcome jayem43!

This will also be our first Disney Cruise so I don't know how much I will be able to help with your questions, but some of our other posters have sailed before.

Congrats on the upgraded cabin! Yes you will have a porthole window.

I'm new to the FE exchange too, but it sounds like a lot of fun. If you check some of the earlier posts it might help explain. There are also threads on the main DCL forum that explain and even give pics. :thumbsup2 Everyone who wants to join in hangs a FE outside of their cabin door. Then you bring small gift(s) to place in other people's FE. It can be on a daily or just once during the cruise. There really don't seem to be any rules it's just for fun. Again, I'm new to this too, so maybe someone else can explain better.

Congrats on you and your DH weight loss!

You hang the FE on the fish outside your stateroom door it seems. I would definitely fly over driving (especially 24 hours! :scared1: ), but then again I love flying! Hopefully we'll see you in your pink pirate shirt too, just like the rest of us!!

Hey......to everyone sailing...........I will be with my 66 year old mother and 3 year old daughter. If anyone wants to meet up at one of the clubs one night and have a drink or two, please, by all means, let me know!! :dance3: :drinking1

I will by all means take you up on that offer mdhkitten! It will be just myself and DS7 and DD11. My DBF (who has no kids) opted out to stay home and work while we are on vacation so I am looking to have some fun with other adults. How late do the kids clubs stay open?

I am getting over this sickness (Thanks Grumpymom73!) better to get sick now than in....28 days!!!

Oh and thanks to whoever said it in the beginning that since our cruise seemed lightly booked that we might be getting upgrades! I am very excited for the pixie dust sprinkled our way!
