You think Lane Bryant will wonder why the sudden run on those?

:rotfl2:

I swear, though, it's actually comfortable! I've been in much worse... ;)

I want my documents!!!!!! and my moms and dads and dhs and everyones...Hope they come soon..Last year we had them by now...Looking forward to hitting lane bryant with next paycheck and a place called Legends..Apparently they rent really nice formal dresses (and all sizes) and even alter them for you.. I will check them out and Dillards (if you are over size 12, this is the place to go). They always have a discounted formal dress section, sometimes 75% off...I will let you know what I find Wed!

YIPPEEEE

:sunny: Good morning ladies. So, now that we all know that none of us has lost the weight we wanted to and we are all going to Lane Bryant and we are all in the same boat ( no pun intended :teeth: ) - we should all feel comfortable enough to just go as we are :thumbsup2...................... Yeah right ! :teeth: :rotfl:

I did start dieting the middle of January and to date have lost 17 lbs. I just started exercising (I know, bad girl) on 3/20 and I am officially down a size. I tried on my next size down jeans the end of March and had to suck in my gut to get'em zipped but they went on and I could still breath when I sat down. So I decided to be brave and wear them to work. Couldn't wait to get home and get them off! I just wore them on Friday and they actually felt loose on me.

I did go shopping on Palm Sunday at Avenue. I can now wear a 14W which is a nice change from a 18! I'm going to check them out again this week for shorts, they did not have any in yet. I do have some that I had outgrown that are now fitting me perfect or just slightly big on me but I can still wear.

I ordered my new bathing suit from JC Penney's last night. I have to wait for it to come in because other clothes I ordered for the girls are backordered until next Monday so everything is shipping together. I ordered that alittle bigger because they usually run small anyway. I may add in a size down to be sure and just return it.

I still have to hit Fashion Bug because they have some good prices too. Along with Lane Bryant for that contraption to see if it will help me into my black dress!

My MIL is coming to my house today to watch the girls. I'm gonna tell her to eat what ever they want to for dessert. I want all these tempting goodies gone! I still have pie, italian pastry, and ewand (sp?) or angel wing cookies as they are called in the store. Plus my cherry bread. I want it all gone I say!

Anyway, we are getting closer to our big day!!!

Ladies, what are you all planning on wearing for our casual nights? I was planning on capris with nice tops, is this acceptable?

 Hi Gina - CONGRATULATIONS ! 17 lbs. is fantastic. I have lost about 10 so I have been working on it but I had wanted to lose more. All goodies from Easter were sent home with family and any left I brought to work yesterday - these people will eat anything and everything! :thumbsup2 So the only tempting goodies left is DS candy but so far I have stayed away from the chocolate bunnies - better will power than Chris :teeth:

I plan on wearing capris and nice tops for casual nights also and I bought a pair of nice black slacks with a couple of different tops to wear. So, I think we will both be perfectly dressed. Have a great day :sunny:

As I am evidently the only "male" on this board it would appear the main "themes" have evolved into areas in which I am totally unqualified to speak!! :rolleyes1 (or should I say OTHER AREAS!?!) :confused3 I feel like I just woke up in Victoria's Secrets! :bride:

Speaking for myself alone, having followed your threads for a few weeks I feel I've gained unique insight into many of your minds and hearts by "remote control". Every single one of you have expressed deep love and affection for your families (MIL's excepted :rotfl2: ) and have done everything within your powers to prepare the perfect cruise experience for everyone ELSE. Now you all are concerned you won't be a perfect size whatever - again to please others - and yourselves to a lesser degree.

Opinion from a man - - - you are ALL beautiful and are living tributes to your femininity. In this day of political correctness it is extremely refreshing to know there are ladies who still care about such "role" model thing as moms, wives, travel guides, and lovers. You are all working 24/7 weeks in advance and will be washing clothes for days AFTER the cruise. :sad1:

You and those you love are about to embark on one of the (hopefully)greatest experiences of your lives "as a family". In today's world the "family" is attacked in every area of society yet you are doing everything within your power to ensure the "magic" of this week for YOUR FAMILY. Enjoy every moment - with your kids, your hubbys, your friends, and especially yourselves. :cool1:

You "look" fantastic today and you'll look even better after a week of rest, relaxation, and chocolate souffle's. As a non-member of your personal family let me assure you I couldn't care what any of you "look" like on the outside. (I'm going to see Flipper not a bunch of tourists - like me!) You are all very special people with whom I will count it an honor to travel the Caribbean for a week. (Do people still wear Moo-moos??) :thumbsup2

Now, I'll leave you to your thoughts of anorexia and Jenny Craig. (If you keep this up I'll be the only FAT GUY on the boat! Thanks for NOTHING!!!!) :badpc:

Bye! Let the music begin!!!
Chris :rockband:

BTY - my lovely DW is doing the same things you are for the same !@#$% reasons. Why am I the only person going who doesn't care if the water level of the Caribbean is raised a few inches when I go swimming??? Hmmmm?

Congrats on getting down to the 14!!!

I was just there yesterday. In my area, at least, no shorts yet! :guilty: The closest they had were these Bermuda-type things that went down past my knees!

I really hope they get some in soon, because I still have some $ left of a gift card and it rather just get the shorts there and use it up.

Our local Fashion Bug had a really nice selection of sundresses, Easter dresses, cocktail dresses, and even a few formals. I've also seen pretty good dress selections at Marshall's, TJ Maxx, and Dress Barn.

I totally agree with the "go as you are" idea, but unfortunately that would mean going with a safety pin holding my dress together! Or with a slight blue tinge due to oxygen deprivation! :rotfl2:

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! I'm sending lots of :wizard: to get those docs out!!!

Chris, I was wondering if we were scaring you! :teeth:

Don't worry--I'll still be there in the pool with you. Water displacement be dammed! :rotfl2:

I AM my own flotation device!

As long as they can't spot me from orbit in the Space Shuttle I'll be happy. (Just remember to move to the opposite side of the ship when I go to the rail!) :bounce:

I have a bunch of really "large" (politically correct term?) friends. One of them told me he won't wear a yellow raincoat because he is tired of people saying "Taxi!" whenever it rains! When I get THAT big I'll start worrying! :dumbo:

Later!
Chris :earsboy:

I got my docs today too. But I have a question, I filled out my forms online, finished about a week or 2 ago, did everyone who did it online get a letter stating so? Also, if I did it online, do I have to do it again and use the ones in the booklet?
If you filled them out online you DO NOT have to fill out the ones in the booklet. You just have to bring the form you printed out and signed from the online site. :)

Gina: Congrats on the 17 lbs gone! I think that is fantastic! I can't seem to "misplace" a few more. I'd be happy with a dress size down! I gotta admit shopping for swim suits at JC Penney's was a sobering experience...I certainly hope that their sizes run small. DH said not to worry about the size, it's just a number. Yeah right! Spoken like a true man! :rotfl2:

Chris: you are very right! We shouldn't focus on our appearances, but look forward to spending time with our families...which we are, but again, spoken like a man. :) We will try very hard to steer the conversation back towards more "manly" subjects so that you don't feel left out. I look forward to reading your witty comments and don't want you to stop posting. :goodvibes

Gina: I plan on wearing capris and a nice shirt with sandals for a majority of the nights. I am still flopping on whether to bring a formal dress or not??? I just don't get into the dressing up thing, and have done it the other 3x we cruised with Disney and just want to relax this trip.

Don't worry about the "direction" of this boards interests for my sake. Just remember if you call me a sissy I'll hit you with my purse!!! :rotfl: (Just kidding!)

(Seriously! I'm kidding!!! :lmao: )

This board is intended to be an information exchange portal and issues surrounding clothing are a big thing(oops, Freudian?) for the ladies. It's only natural to discuss J. C. Penny, Sax, and Omar the Tent Maker. I hope everyone gets to the size they are happy AND HEALTHY with. :thumbsup2

It is a shame more males aren't joining in this dialogue. It is a wonderful precursor to the trip to see how many anxieties and expectations we share with others from across the planet. (I greatly suspect many are "reading" this board, but don't post for a variety of reasons - too busy, not interested, or have a "life".) :moped:

Believe it or not - - - gotta get to work! (Isn't that a four lettered word??) :confused3 Hope everyone's tickets get where they are supposed to be TODAY - - - - including ours!!! :Pinkbounc

Bye Ya'll!
Chris :p

P.S. I WAS kidding about the purse stuff!!!

Hello everyone!

Here's hoping everyone had a great weekend. I'm feeling better, but when I went off the meds the room started tilting sideways once in a while, so I think I'd better stay on them.

Went shopping and bought a dress for the pirate/tropical night. Its a tropical theme, not swashbuckler. Also bought 5 more tank tops, 3 capris, sandals (which are very cool as they have interchangeable flowers in cream, aquamarine, rose, and green. Its like having 4 sandals in one, which justifies the $180 cost!), a tshirt, a three quarter sleeve top and a pair of shorts. I've lost all the weight I've wanted, but now I'm worried that I won't be able to keep it off and will gain it all back before I get on to the boat and all these tiny little clothes I bought won't fit! And Chris, fyi, my dh has also been watching his weight and working out, so us gals aren't the only vain ones!

Now I'm worried I have too many clothes! Since I'm going to WDW for 10 days prior and tanktops don't really take alot of space, I'll probably just take everything. I don't think I can get away with less than 6 pairs of shoes though: dress shoes, my multipurpose sandals, walking sandals, another pair of lower casual sandals, strappy medium heel sandals, and my two pairs of flipflops! Is anyone really going to take less than 5 or 6?

Just 8 more days until I leave! AAAAAAA.....Does anyone get more stressed out the closer it gets. It almost gets unbearable to me these last few days. I worry about everything!

My kids are going to wear dress shorts for dinner, sandals, and shirts.(collared, not t). Does that sound okay?

BTW, my TA tells me I may not get my cruise docs in time, and she will UPS them to me in WDW! That makes me really nervous! What do you guys think? I've received my magical express tags...

Talk to you later, I'd better do what I get paid for.

Sandra from Canada, eh!

Hi, Everyone, We're almost there :thumbsup2
No, docs here yet, guess I'll just have to keep my nose pressed against the front door glass waiting for the UPS man. Glad to hear everyone seems to be mending.

Just started packing and boy do I need to get shopping. I lost 15 pounds but then herniated a disc in my neck--decided eating lots of sugar might help the pain and gained 17 pounds (life is good in the great state of denial  ). now I'm down 7 again but nothing fits so Lane Bryant count me in. Oh, well, did get the toiletries packed--p.s. don't forget to make sure lids are tight on your shampoo bottles--I just found that out the hard way :sad2:

Hey Chris-No-no-no, dear, suet balls are not for eating, they're for just having. you know, like whoever dies with the most suet balls, wins kind of thing. Really, I don't know what they're good for(throwing at pushy museum actors?) but you'd be surprised what you can get people to do with a promise of a few suet balls :stir:

Happy shopping,packing,planning everyone!

Don't worry Chris, your secret is safe with us..well, and about a bazillion others that read these boards. :lmao: :lmao:

Sandra,
Alright, you get to celebrate before the rest of us! Don't worry about your docs, the main things you need are printed from the website anyway.

I can't even begin to imagine how much I would overpack if I was going for longer. Here i thought I was Miss Conservative when it comes to packing and by the looks of my exercise room (well I need to use it for something , might as well use it for loading suitcases) :teeth: , I am so not conservative.

Yeah, right! I know the drill. "I can keep a secret. It's the people I tell who can't!"

The times my "self-confidence" is tested the most is when my DW and I are somewhere and she asks me to hold HER purse (luggage would be a better description!) while she shops. I usually just look back at folks who are looking at me and ask them if they thought "my purse matches my shoes?" They usually speed up and walk by much faster! :rotfl2:

(Add to the fact I've been a pianist since I was five and am only 3 feet 29 inches tall you'll understand why my other hobbies have involved martial arts the last 24 years!! pug:)

Hey (or is it Eh?) Sandra
I've too have watched my weight for most of my adult life - - especially since my tummy has caused me to loose "line of sight" to my feet! Thank Heaven for "loafers" and Reeboks! :woohoo: It only bothers me when I'm in swimming and kids run around screaming "Free Willy"! :fish:

Well, back to the grindstone! May 6th is coming :cloud9:
Chris
