May 6, 2006 - 7 nite Western - Anyone Crusing?

 So how many people are you having and what are you cooking for Easter? Got room for 3 more ?? :teeth: I am having 16 people and ham and all the other Italian requirements. Get to drop DS off at wrestling tonight and do grocery shopping - wanna meet me at Super Foodmart :rotfl: We can make sure we don't forget anything ! At least the weather is supposed to be nice so the kids can go outside. Hope you have a good one.

Happy Easter everyone! We have a cloudy day today and its supposed to rain all weekend. :( Just 13 more days until my family heads off to WDW! We received our Magical Express tags yesterday which was very exciting. Haven't received any cruise tickets yet. I hope they arrive before we leave on the 26th! I will call my TA after the weekend if I haven't heard from her. Anyone have tickets yet?

I am feeling better although still shaky. I need to be careful when I get up and I can't turn my head to fast. I was at the physio today and she said I don't seem to have any signs of chronic vertigo, so its probably a virus and hopefully will be gone before I leave. I will continue to take the meds (SERC) and pray that I will be able to be the ride daredevil that I normally am. I especially want to go on Expedition Everest and Mission:Space!

I'm hoping to feel well enough this weekend to do a little shopping for myself. Time is running out!

Have a great weekend folks, and see you soon.

(Thanks for all your prayers and kind thoughts. They really mean something!)

Sandra,eh!

another day down,,,

Im at work and daydreaming about the nighttime activities on board...listening to music, walking on deck 10, watching movies

:hourglass

I'm having 12 for dinner and another 3 joining us for dessert. I'm smoking a ham and frying a turkey. Mom is making candied sweet potatoes, my aunt is making her awesome artichokes and I'm doing the manicotti, smoked baked potatoes, veggies, stuffing, baking a pie...wow I'm tired already! Mom also bring Italian pastry from Rocco's, yummy!

We had soccer practice last night from 6-6:45 and band from 7-8. On opposite sides of town!!! I dropped DD7 off at soccer and me and DD11 went to the bank and did some marathon shopping. I only need a few more things, but for Sunday so I guess it was a success.

Tonight DD11 is going to a friends for a sleepover so I think I'm gonna tackle making my cherry bread when I get home from work. I'll let it rise in the over overnight and slap the dough in the pans in the mornin'.

DH is home today, but I'm going to work. He is going to do eggs with the girls so they can do something special together today. Not looking forward to going to work today though, corporate made a big boo-boo with paychecks this week and they did not come in yesterday like they are suppose to. Now I have to wait for UPS to show up this morning so I can keep them all from attacking me. Don't shoot the payroll girl! :duck:  :scared:

Glad to hear you are on the mend slg.

Have a nice day everyone! We are suppose to be near 70 today but showers later into the morning and then nice and sunny all weekend with highs in the low to mid 60's. I'll take it.

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Sandra! Sending :wizard: to get you to 100% before our trip!

We're actually taking Easter off this year. MIL leaves on Saturday, and I imagine we'll just keep Sunday to ourselves. Church in the morning maybe and then a quiet day. The weather's supposed to be nice, so I'm looking forward to that!

Have a great day, all!

P.S. Chris, I totally hear you about missing the cruise thread once we're home. Still, I've seen some of these threads go on for years, so there's hope yet! :)

I'm glad to see everybody is "fasting" in anticipation of the cruise! I don't want to hear a word about MY eating 26 chocolate bunnies!!! :rotfl2: (so far!)

I downloaded the "room service" menu last night and I have a question for you "food" experts (suet balls???). What the sam-hill is a Focaccia sandwich?

We've about decided to "play it by ear" in Key West after reading some of the boards as to how "pushy" the actors are (for tips) in the museums. I don't mind tipping anyone (I've still got plenty of $6s and $9s left over :teeth: ) but I don't like being hustled. (In Nassau I almost had to have a "south Alabama discussion" with a street "vendor" who tried to grab my DWs arm to put a bracelet on it. Not a good idea - for him.)

Has anyone received their tickets? Last cruise we received ours in early April and cruised in May for DWs birthday on the 10th. She really doesn't mind getting older. (Any day "above ground" is a good day!) We just strap on a black armband and move on! :bday:

Again our thoughts and prayers to the folks hit last night by storms again. Sorta puts taxes and Delta pilot strikes in prospective again. :rose:

Hey Laura!

I hope it does at least for a few more post-cruise laughs. I still want to find out what a suet ball is!

Have a wonderful Easter everyone and don't forget to celebrate the "reason for the season" this Sunday. Easter is a special time far beyond chocolate bunnies and colored eggs. I wish you all the peace of the season. :thumbsup2 Be well, my friends and God bless!

Bye,
Chris :wave2:

Happy Easter to everyone! Lots of cleaning , cooking and baking today. Hope everyone has a great day.

Gina, sorry you have to work today . At least I have it off to get a jump on making sauce, etc.

And Chris Pearlieq is right , some of these threads go on for ever - so after we come back we can all talk about the things that happened on the cruise - like your DW turning another year old, etc...

Here I am playing when I should be working ! :teeth:

Hi Everyone!
Wow, you guys sure have been busy posting. :teeth: Makes me feel sort of left out of the loop. Darn computer stuff! :badpc:

Hey Chris, what is it you heard about the musuem actors being pushy? We are thinking about doing the Pirate Soul musuem in KW, just wondering.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter! This is our first Easter here in the PacNW and NO family! :( Well it will be quiet anyway. :)

Ok, that's it, I'm going to Gina's! YUMMMM!!!!

Hey speaking of your DD, my DD is having SO much fun emailing her! She bugs me 3957495 times a day (that's a lot, LOL!) to check to see if she's written back yet. Aren't they cute?

So are all of you finished shopping yet? I am having anxiety because I'll all of the sudden remember stuff. Like, oh, the fact that I gave all my husband's suits (all 2 of them, LOL) to Goodwill this past year because they didn't fit right and were old and he needed a new one. Well, uh...the cruise is in three weeks...and we never got him a new suit! (Not renting a tux for formal night...a suit will have to do.) So I have to drag him out this weekend. (Also need to get my son something for formal night but they should have something on sale right now because of Easter, etc.)

Ok, I'm rambling.........shutting up now!

Boy, I think I'm going to Gina's too - although it is a bit far to go for the day! Actually I get the day off from cooking this year. FIL is taking all of us out to Easter Brunch at a very nice place after church. I actually cooked a big pre-Easter dinner for everyone on Palm Sunday. My family was up for the weekend and I hosted everyone for the day. Looking forward to a HUGE buffet of crab legs, salmon, prime rib, ham, etc....A pre-cruise feast for us! :thumbsup2

Chris - focaccia is a type of bread - very tasty. Don't know what Disney will on it though but I bet it would be good and suet ball free! :lmao: MY favorite sandwich on Focaccia would be muffaletta - a good ol' New Orleans favorite!

Happy Good Friday to everyone!

Keep it clean folks...I meant UPS! I just got my docs!!! :teeth:

And even better: our luggage tags are DIS board green! :)

So start looking as they are arriving, and I am clear up here on the opposite coast!

Lisa

No docs here yet - boo hoo :confused3

Well - I cooked, cleaned and made sure everything looks good. We moved into this new house last January and I have some family that hasn't seen it yet. So I want everything to be nice. Went room to room and all is good then I go upstairs and there is my spare bedroom that looks like a bomb went off! :teeth: Suitcases, clothes, etc. all over. Heck - I am more excited about this trip then family for Easter. Besides I am the one cooking so ........ I'll close the door to the room and pretend it is a big closet ! :rotfl: ;)

Yup - they just came today!! Mine are also the Lime Green Luggage tags -- do the colors mean anything??

Yippee -- it means we are getting ever so closer to cruising!!!
Unfortunately -- no room upgrade!

Go check your front porches!!
Lynn

PS -- Have a Happy Easter!

Boo Hoo, no docs for me today either - and I live in the same state as MickeyD! I'll have to hope for Monday! :thumbsup2

Congrats on getting your docs guys!

i thought the luggage tags had to do with with where you find your luggage at the end of the trip????

I'm on the opposite coast, too, (California) and was just starting to pout that I didn't get mine....and then I realized that I was gone all day and checked on the front porch, and YIPPPEEE, mine are here, too! :::::going to go look at everything now:::::: Yay! I'm so excited! (Now if my new Passporter would just arrive....)

I "think" the colors are indicative of the floor you are staying on. Last time we were on deck 6 and had yellow (i think...it's been a while). Are you on deck 7? We are, and no upgrade here either, but I like the location of our room-so no complaints.

Whoo hoo! There really wasn't much to them unfortunately. Other than the bahamas immigration forms and a checklist. We aren't using Disney for transportation or anything so all that was blank. I already filled out everything on the web and at least the letter included in the docs confirmed that they know I did this...so the website must work. :)

I'm on deck 6 and my tags are green also. Hmmmm.....
