May 6, 2006 - 7 nite Western - Anyone Crusing?

Congrats on the dress fitting! I've decided to go ahead and wear my jeans that are monogramed "Shamu" on the back! :dumbo:

Hey, is anyone else booked for the Kirk Sea Tours snorkeling? You might be interested in this from April 7th too: :magnify:

"In Grand Cayman: Kirk Sea Tours’ Sun Runner capsized near a reef in the sandbar area of the ocean. Passengers said the boat had been taking in some water on one side, and when everyone moved to the other side of the boat it fell on its side, plunging passengers into the water. There were 54 cruise tourists, a cruise ship escort, (three French hens, two turtle doves,) and three crew members -- all were rescued with no serious injuries." (I wonder where they buried the survivors? :confused3 )

Sandra? Feeling better today? Need a "suet ball" - whatever the heck that is? (Sounds kinda medicinal!) Just try not to think about eating raw pork, or tiltawhirls, or elevators, or - well, just do as I do - don' t "think" at all! :ssst:

Have a great day everybody! Wishing you all Disney dreams - except when you are driving! :car:

Bye!

Yes those were pics from the aquarium..Not bad, huh? I was worried about the cheesiness of it, but I really enjoyed it...There are several parts I could sit and visit hours at a time..
Thanks for the comments on my pics!

Cozumel..Walking around and taxi to mini golf. The owner is fabulous and we had a great time with the tropical scenery and the owner is just so nice!

Wow you guys. I go AWOL for a few days and you post 2 pages worth of stuff!

slg (Sandra) - adding you to my prayers. So sorry to hear about all that. Hope the meds start working soon. Does your cabin happen to be on deck 1 or 2?

ganurse (Amy) - headed over to look at your pics after I post. I would love to visit the Atlanta Aquarium someday. Looks so neat!

sneezy63 - we are planning on taking a cab over to Paradise Beach in Coz. For Grand Cayman, we are debating on doing Stingray City and Snorkel (on our own through an independant local tour company) I really want to do it, but I'm afraid my twin 5 yr olds may freak a bit. They say they want to see the stingrays, I just think that they may be afraid of being in the water with them.

Chris - as always, you crack me up and provide a necessary chuckle at 8:30 in the morning! :rotfl2: If my DH knew how much I was on this board, he'd probably unplug the computer and hide the cords!

Happy hump day everyone! Whittling that to-do list down and getting so excited!
Heather

Well, I went to the orthopedist today--apparently I've got fluid in my knee. It's swollen and tight--I can't bend it all the way. I'm on strict rest of the rest of the week, plus anti-inflammatories, and ice 3 times per day. Super fun!

That's what I get from trying to exercise too hard so I could breathe in my *#^@$ formal dress! Oh well. I'm not too worried. I'm not in a lot of pain, and a cruise is not exactly a strenouous vacation! :teeth:

In other news, my MIL is coming in today. She's OK, but we just don't "get" each other. Really, DH is the only thing we have in common. I mean, she's not a bad person, just not really my type, you know? I'm just hoping we can find enough to do this weekend to keep us occupied.

The best part of her visit is that as soon as DH leaves to take her back to the airport, the guest room is MINE! Out come the suitcases and all of the paraphenalia! I just seems so much more real when you can start packing!

Have a great day everyone! :wizard:

Man, what a bummer! Please try and get some rest though and think about that guest room being yours soon!

Heather,
If you do decide to do the Stingray/Snorkle you should check into Nativeway. That's who we're using (instead of Disney's trip). I've heard really good things about them! Also, I'm pretty sure my 7 year old DS will be pretty freaked out by the stingrays...maybe he'll lean over to pet them but not get in the water with them. He's not the adventurous sort. (My 12 yo daughter is the daredevil!) So if you go, you may have company staying on the boat, LOL!

pearlieq, hope your knee feels better soon. My left one acts up on me once in a while, had stitches on it when I was 9 so I think that is why it bothers me. I hear ya about exercising your heart out, I'm doin the same thing.

slg, sending you feel better wishes too. There is a "bug" going on around here with vertigo symptoms. My stepdad had that room spinning feeling for a few days with a postnasal drip. Not fun. My uncle started with the same thing on Sunday and my aunt (his wife) had the same thing a few weeks ago. Kinda odd. But hey, it's my family.

sneezy63, we are doing the Dolphin Discovery thru Disney and it is on the mainland in Puerto Aventuras. We are gonna Dramamin for the ferry ride over. :teeth:

ganurse, your Lucy is a sweetie! Hope she is doing better.

Chris, polish off any more chocolate bunnies? I finally did my basket shopping last night. Spent more than I wanted but at least it will be a Easter morning here.

Have a good night all, it's time for me to go drool over Sawyer on "Lost" :bitelip: :woohoo:

Tonight my DIL brought over her REAL BUNNY named "Cadberry" but she wouldn't even let me pet him!! Oh, well, I guess it's like a sign I once read in a Barber Shop "Hare today and gone tomorrow" (or did they spell it "hair"?) Whatever! ;)

Hey Heather! My wife says I've been fighting mental health for a long time. Obviously you must agree! :badpc: I just had a sign printed up and laminated (any sign that is laminated looks "official") and sneaked it into the window of one of our local "Chinese Restaurant and Veteranarians" that said "WE BUY CATS". (What exactly is a restraining order???)

Hey Kim - - - so you "wish" me bird seed balls????? (It looks like something my wife tried to cook the first 10 years we were married. :stir: ) I'm sure it's the thought that "counts" however, I never did learn to think --- or count! :teacher:

Hey Amy - hope Lucy is doing better - - remember we "All Love Lucy". (Hey that'd make a good name for a TV program wouldn't it?????) puckerup:

Good night everybody! Hope all you sick and "afflicted" get well real soon! :wizard: Time to go make a few Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Nite!
Chris :cat:

If we keep this up our May 6th cruise is going to look like a hospital ward! :teeth: Hope everyone is feeling better real soon. We got some dancin to do ! :woohoo:

Not to be too nosey, but I find the time stamps on your posts rather interesting:

4:39 AM
3:43 PM
4:32 AM
7:20 AM
4:51 AM
5:03 PM

Do you work nights or are you just "...too excited to sleep!"?? :coffee:

I'm around PCs most of my 20 hour days so it's normal for me to pop up at unexpected times - and most people I know HATE "pop-ups"! :furious: (I represent that remark!)

Hey Amy - - - I've seen the aquariums in Gatlinburg, (the late)New Orleans, Mud Island - Memphis, Chattanooga, and our front yard during Ivan. If you've been to any of these - except our front yard - how does Atlanta's measure up to these others? :fish:

I'd like to get up a "gang" from around here and drive up if it's worth the trip! I could even wear my old T-Shirt that says "Go Braves" on the front and "And take the Falcons with you!" on the back!?! :thumbsup2

Hey Miss Jasmine (whatever your name is!?!) Congrats on the Gators winning the NCAA Basketball Championship. Although I am a dyed in the wool Bama fan I can concede enough pride to be proud that another SEC team won! (Thank heavens it wasn't Auburn or an ACC team! :cheer2: ) Roll Tide anyway!! :rotfl:

Hey Heather - Tell Marc you are doing "Housework" when you are on the PC. Here's how I figured out how to do it!

1. Open a new file in your PC.
2. Name it "Housework."
3. Send it to the RECYCLE BIN.
4. Empty the RECYCLE BIN.
5. Your PC will ask you, "Are you sure you want to delete Housework permanently?"
6. Calmly answer, "Yes," and press the mouse button firmly......
7. Feel better?

Works for me! pixiedust:

Later Folks!
Chris :smickey:

The good news is that the knee is SO much better. The ice, rest, and medicine have helped tons. I think if I keep it up I should be back to normal pretty soon <knock on wood>. :cool1:

The bad news is I had my first cruise nightmare! I actually woke DH up to tell him about it, which he totally appreciated at 5:30am. I dreamt that we were all ready to go, then dream-DH decided he had to run some kind of an errand and he didn't get back until after 5:00pm! We jumped in the car and raced toward the port, but got there just in time for the Magic to sail by us. I was so sad!

Thankfully we're flying down the day before and staying by the port, so barring an act of God, this is NOT going to happen!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I remember one day when I came home from the 2nd grade my parents had moved - and they didn't leave a forwarding address! :sad1: It'll sure make you feel insecure!! (Never bothered me though - - sniff, sniff!) :eeyore: :grouphug:

Bye (again!)
Chris

Mazzarafe....
Oh, DUH, now I see on the Disney site that it says Puerto Adventuras. I had heard that the park at Chakunaab (sp?) was all messed up but didn't really think about going to the mainland. The dolphin stuff sounds fun but ughhhh..45 minutes on the ferry plus a 25 minute bus ride. Blech! Oh well, if I can endure the "transportation" part, the rest sounds fun. Did you sign up everyone in your family for the full "dolphin encounter," or are some doing the "dolphin observer?" I don't know if my 7 year old son will want to actually get in the water or not. And if he doesn't then I won't, either. I suppose I can just pay for us all to do it and then if he doesn't want to then we'll just sit it out. Hey, it's only money! (And why is it that vacation money always seems so easy to spend? Then when you get back to the real world...Oh my goodness, what have I done?!)

Oh my gosh pearlieq, I have started having the cruise nightmares, too! (Mine involve "oh my we are leaving tomorrow...I forgot all about it and haven't even packed yet" scenarios)

I guess this means I need to start packing and getting more organized!

Chris :smickey:

Stop stalking me !! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Yes, I am "toooooo excited to sleep!", actually I don't sleep most of the time. But for some reason your times are two hours off from mine (your time was 4:39 this am and it was really 6:39) .......... is there a time difference from CT. to Alabama?? :hourglass
Anyway - I am up at 5 for a work out , etc. before getting DS off to school and going to work - so I jump on the PC and check emails and I check in here . Then I work 8-2 and I am on the PC all day so I check in during the day and try to once in awhile in the pm. So, I case you were worried - I may be alittle off :rolleyes1 - oh alright - alot off - :teeth: but I am not some psycho up doing really weird things at really weird hours :stir: :stir:

:rotfl: :rotfl: - OMG - how slow am I ??? I just realized I was the one who had Connecticut spelled Connectcuit !! I really do know how to spell it - I just can't type !! :badpc:

Stalker??? :sail: Not likely! I've got a bumper sticker on my car that says "I'm a skitzophrentic, (and so am I)". :hyper2:

Yes there is a time difference from Connecticut (sp!) of one hour. The actual time right now - since I wound my sundial again - is 2:20 PM CDT. :sunny: I'm not sure of the year.....

I was just reading where as an energy saving plan Daylight Savings Time has been a complete bust. Someone (wise) has said a camel is a horse put together by a government committee. Ben Franklin meant it as a joke when he proposed it to the Continental Congress. Leave it to the brilliant minds of todays Congress to say "DUH, that's a good idea! I just wish they'd leave it alone one way or the other!! :confused3

Once again to understate my "no life" condition, I think I'm gonna miss this board when the cruise is over in 30 days. I've never used a chat board or even posted to a board such as this except stock boards - and those guys have NO sense of humor. :sad2: Maybe when this is all behind us - esecially those pounds from the chocolate souffles - we can meet again here to bellyache or laugh at the extraordianry experience we will all have shared. :boat: (Hope that isn't a "life boat" icon!?)

Be well everyone and let's get packing - again!! party:
Chris :mickeybar

BTY - I had a nightmare too last week. I dreamed I was eating this HUGE marshmellow and when I woke up my pillow was gone!?! :scared:

Sneezy63, I booked all of us for the encounter. My DD7 is really looking forward to it. Both girls were disappointed when we found out that the one in Cozumel was not going to be open in time. We actually were going to do the swim there. My little one is my dare devil. My oldest loves dolphins so this is right up her alley. It is a pretty big nut for a family though. This is the only excursion we have booked. We are going to do Key West on our own and just do some shopping and looking around in Grand Caymen.

Pearlieq, glad to hear that your knee is better.

I'm in trouble because the "brain noise" started this morning. Got up to go to the little girls room around 5:30am and could not go back to sleep. Started thinking of everything I still have to get for vacation. And now who has time to go shopping when I have to cook, clean & bake for Easter! :scared1:

But I only have to pass out paychecks 3 more times before vacation! :Pinkbounc

holy cow this is an active board

Chris, The Chattanooga aquarium is smaller but more educational..My DH likes it better..DOnt like the crowds at the atlanta one, but the whales and things are something to see..Come visit..

Off to work

Chris, I like the way you think! Marc has gotten wise to my tricks though and now has started giving me a "to do" list before he leaves for work in the morning! It's really not as bad as it sounds though...It's just too easy to "play" on the computer while my twins are playing or having quiet time. This is my quiet time I say.

Pearlieq - glad the knee is feeling better. I've already had numerous cruise nightmares! It's probably only going to get worse the closer it gets! Most of them involve me forgetting to pack, forgetting luggage, forgetting a person... :confused3

Sneezy63 - I too have heard great things about NativeWay and have checked out their website. We were also considering going with Soto's. I guess I better decide pretty quick.

Have a happy Easter everyone!
Heather
