May 4th, 2025 - 13 Night Eastbound Transatlantic Cruise from Port Canaveral to Barcelona (Castaway Cay, Azores, Lisbon, Cádiz)

We never have a carry on just our back packs . To hard these days to find a place for it on the plane back packs go under seats.

We have 2 checked luggage one for each of us.

My daughter will have a checked luggage and backpack. She is having a hard time packing. She would love 2 outfits a day.

I said I will be washing but she wants the different clothes.
Can she bring 2 suitcases?

Can she bring 2 suitcases?
We only get one free suitcase going two coming back. Did get a bigger suitcase for my husband so if we bring anything back we have room. He packs light…lol

We’re going to take extra one and pay but than we were thinking about fitting all the luggage in our car to go to the airport and than having to get a bigger uber when we get there.

I’m sure she will be buying something on board or at Ports. I’m at the age I don’t buy much when away anymore , saying that I did buy the Mickey skeleton Halloween bucket 2 years ago . He was big to pack…lol

But why two suitcases? My stuff is in one large suitcase. I might break it down into two to reduce the 54lbs weight.
My luggage set I got for Christmas is two suitcases. One is small enough to be a carry-on, and the other is bigger, but it is not one of those big suitcases one usually gets (more like a medium size). I might be able to fit everything into that medium one, but it will tight, and I won't have room for anything I purchase through the trip.

It works out because I get two checked-bags, one free carry-on, and one free personal item. But since I have an AMEX Delta Gold card, I get one checked bag for free, so I won't have to pay for baggage!

Awesome! I’m going to bring two suitcases as well. Similar to you, if I carry only one suitcase, I won’t have room for anything extra.

Our luggage tags still haven't arrived :snooty:
They never do to be fair and are usually through the letterbox by the time we get home.

We fly out Tuesday to MCO and we are SO excited.
Have not started packing yet as we have a very sulky cat who does not like the suitcases!
Packing always takes me longer, not because of sulky cats but cats that keep packing themselves in a suitcase lol.
Our holiday starts today.

So, the strangest thing happened. Yesterday I got an email to the email address that is association with my Disney account. But it’s addressed to my husband Michael. It’s titled „Keep Exploring the Magic of Membership!“ and starts with: „I'm reaching out about your interest in Disney Vacation Club®. Like a lot of families, you may be wondering if Membership is a good fit for you.“ Our DVC membership is only in my name, so he indeed is not a DVC member, but he certainly hasn’t recently shown any interest in DVC. A few minutes later the husband gets a text from a friend with whom he has done some Disney trips. He got the exact same email as me, but also a text to his phone number. Then today the friend texts my husband: he now got a voicemail from DVC wishing my husband a great cruise and to come and see the people at the DVC desk on boarding day and tell them „May the Force be with you“ - he will get a gift. Neither my husband nor I got that call. Totally bizarre. 🤣

So, in the end my tip for you is to try out that code word on boarding day and get some DVC gifts. 😉

Hi! I did the Westbound last October. Someone asked about Wifi. Worked great all the way across. I'm cheap so I would buy it around 1 after lunch (like on Monday) and then it would last until 1 on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday I would do the same thing and it would last until 1 on Thursday. Saved 50% doing it that way. It was $28 for 24 hours. Just wanted to check in with family, not be on it all the time.

I have to mention that the little corner of the shop that used to have things like aspirin is much smaller now and I really missed a lot of what they used to carry. No cough drops or cough syrup, Pebto-Bismol, Pedialyte, Mucinex. That sort of stuff. I brought a little 'first aid' pouch with OTC pills, a thermometer. I ended up getting a cold and did order chicken noodle soup from Room Service but this next time (on the WB again) I am bringing some chicken bouillon cubes. I had also picked up some crackers in London which came in handy for a rough sea day. Didn't have any issues at all in the ports (Spain & Portugal, Azores) but don't blame you for being careful. My cruise was at Oct 20 - Nov 3 and it wasn't cold anywhere.

Happy Sailing!

This post is right on time! I packed a bottle of cough syrup. Great idea about the crackers and chicken bouillon cubes. I thought about bringing a jacket, but I wasn’t sure. If you think of anything else, please let us know.

Daughter came home today we leave Saturday. She lives 2 hours away from us so was excited to see her.

Her bag weights 49 lbs. Will have to take something out I think…lol Mine weighs 39 lbs. only have to put my rain coat and heavy / spring coat for Iceland.

You said you leave on Saturday. Are you in America? Sorry, I can’t remember.

I asked at the Customer Service Desk (can't remember the formal name) about cough drops. She said they have them in the infirmary BUT because there is still some residual Covid fear, I couldn't just go buy them. Was told t
they might take my temp, do a Covid test. SHE actually ran there and got them for me ($5 Cepacol).

What else did I bring?
Sprinkles for the soft serve (but only when I got it in a cup. Didn't want to make a mess trying to put it on a cone)
Hot sauce. Walmart had these little bottles of hot sauce for $1 that would zip up the Lighter Fare chicken. I know there is some at the Mexican place but you can't bring those to dinner. I wasn't overly impressed at the Mexican place but only ate there once.
Plastic straws (just a couple, I rinsed them out) because I made Coke Floats with the soft serve. Paper straws 'melt'.
I brought a little spray bottle of air freshener that I bought at Trader Joe's. I think it's Lemon Myrtle? Just the right size.
Kleenex. Yes, I know, there is some in the cabin. But I needed softer stuff. I opened box and put them in a ZipLock bag and brought them that way.
I brought TOO MANY CLOTHES! No one really notices. But as they say, you do you!
Have read that liquid hand sanitizer doesn't work with Novovirus. You need to wash your hands. I brought a couple packs of the Wet Ones wipes.
The TunnelVision is VERY loud, to me. You are allowed to go into Cabanas when it is closed (not to far in) and sit at tables there. The only quiet place I could find to write postcards. Earplugs?
I bring a little noise machine, but that's just me.
My over the top first aid kit had some moleskin, tiny roll of duct tape, clothes pins, about a yard of cord, a little sewing kit, TUMS, and some Tumeric tea (from Trader Joes, for my cold).

But you are leaving soon! I'm sure my "what if" packing was because I was a Girls Scout. Be prepared! I know there's a big grocery store in Vigo (https://granviadevigo.com/) for shopping, not much in the Azores.

Great suggestions! I have a lot of what you recommended except the first aid kit!

I’m Canadian

My husband just bought a few things for our first aid kit we always have things but needed to replace a few. He also got a wine stopper. We get the wine for our Platinum gift and don’t drink it all . I don’t drink it so it takes him awhile to drink it . Gets orange juice from cabanas to mix with it.

Yes! 🥰 I got a little nervous and was hoping you weren’t flying in from Europe—that would’ve been cutting it really close.

What’s the status of the princess’ luggage? I left the back pack. It was too much for me.

I feel we have too much luggage. We got a carryon free so we have 3 large suitcases full, one for each of us , 2 backpacks, daughter has a weekender bag and we have one small carry on that has shoes in it right now…lol

They are actually putting our purple tags on as we speak.
