In Canada, we have Trinny, Susannah and Gok too! I wish Gok would teach me how to look good naked... I love that show. :rotfl2:

Congrats to everyone who received their docs today!

And thanks to captured who reminded me that I should call and double check on all of my ressies!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't hurt. :wizard:

I know I replied to you yesterday but for whatever reason it's not there... strange. Maybe I didn't finish it out or something.

No illusion! Every other morning I awaken at 4:00 AM to run on the treadmill and have breakfast ALONE before DS is up and in my face. Otherwise, I'm up around 5:30.

No offense but YUCK! :lmao: I do good to get up at 6:30 and I'm only getting dressed not running a marathon! :rotfl: I'm definitely not a morning person.

I know, I know! :sad2: I used to teach 8th grade, and I always would say, "I'm glad I don't have one of those living in my house!" DS is on his way to being 6' 2" at least, according to the pediatric height predictors! My husband is just under 6', and he's the shortest male on either side of the family. My dad was 6' 4", and my middle nephew is 6' 2". DS looks just like both of them, so he's got alot of their genes. Unfortunately, he's pretty well doomed to be hairy as well; both DH and I are pretty well covered with fur! :rotfl: I'm looking forward with some trepidation to my first ever waxing appt. before the cruise.

My only advice regarding waxing is to not wait until the last minute if you've never waxed before. I have only started having my eyebrows waxed and the skin around my eyebrows stays red for about 4 days afterwards. It's pretty funny when strangers come up to me and ask did you just have your eyebrows waxed and I say yeah at lunch yesterday and it's like 5:00pm the next day. I will definitely only be doing this on Fridays from now on.

They definitely stay red for 2 days and the other 2 not as red. I have fair skin and you can just scratch it and it turns red and splotchy. I've gone a whole whopping two times now. :cool1: And if I go before any big event I'll definitely do it a week before at the latest. :rotfl:

And thanks to captured who reminded me that I should call and double check on all of my ressies!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't hurt. :wizard:

You are very welcome.

Yes everyone call and check their reservations. Don't need any last minute scrambles for a room. :scared1:

No cruise docs for me. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Maybe today? :confused3 We had booked through a TA, so maybe that's our reason for the delay.

One of my kiddos threw up last night. Boy, this gives me nightmares. I can just imagine one of them (or us) doing that the night before the cruise. One got carsick before our last cruise 2 years ago (not DCL) and we got quarantined during the boarding process and had to be checked by the ship's doc before we were allowed to board. :scared: I didn't realize before that they would actually consider not allowing us to board. Scary.

I'm doing a lot of praying this year that we get on the ship without a hitch. My other nightmare is that we are flying a red-eye flight and arriving in the morning. I'm terrified of airline delays and such preventing us from getting there on time. I had told my dh that I wanted to come in the night before, but when he booked with the TA he took the red eye instead. I should have spoken up at the time, but he kept saying... The ship doesn't leave until such and such time, we'll be fine!:headache: Now I'm going to be stressed out until we're on board the Magic. :sad2: :scared: :sad2: So all of you who are nicely tucked in at your PC hotels the night before, say a prayer for us, please! :flower3:

Wow, I thought I was bad! I get blotchy skin on my chest that is beet red just from blow drying my hair! But, I have been waxing since I was 12 years old and have never had this problem. Good luck to you Bobbi! I think you'll be fine. I have light skin and dark hair like yourself...

The only thing that I recommend is not to wax your lip... if you were considering, bleach only. It is the only place that will grow thicker!

You are very welcome.

I checked up on my ressies and they're still good!   I'm so excited!

Don't be scared about the red-eye. May isn't a horrible weather/delays time. This rarely ever happens... even so, you have lots of time to get on the ship! If it were February, I'd be nervous, but you'll be great! :yay:

Cruise docs arrived very late today! about 530pm in fact! The UPS men sure work long hours!
Now I just have to keep those luggage tags safe until the Saturday am :dance3:
I have a plastic file that is getting thicker by the minute, all docs in date/use order...from car parking at airport here, to hotel at PC.....to cruise...to Universal tickets...and so on...at this rate I will need extra baggage :thumbsup2

Am keeping up with the laundry. Doing bits of shopping when I can. Its not too bad for me cos I wear a uniform at work, so don't have to worry too much during the week about looking too great. Its ironing I hate. But I guess it won't be worth too much ironing...after a couple of days in suitcases in transatlantic flight and overnight hotel....it will all need doing again
I bet I do do some more ironing though...anyone else who is anal about packing? I always have to have it all just so...neatly rolled...or folded..heavy at bottom etc etc..

Will keep fingers crossed for all of you with little ones that they don't get sick. It doesn't bear thinking about to be refused boarding
And for anyone with travel worries! Good vibes being sent...:goodvibes
We must have 100% from our meet thread!

Thanks for the waxing advice Melissa and captured! :thumbsup2 My skin is a little sensitive; I always shave the day before a pedicure, but still get little red bumps. But my waxing appointment is on Friday the 25th, and we leave here Wednesday the 30th, so I should be okay. :goodvibes

I have a little dilemna I'd love suggestions for. I got a frame with a big photo mat to leave at guest services for signing. It has a 5 x 7 opening and measures 11 x 17. I bought zip lock 2 gallon bags to put it in with my sharpies, but the bags are a couple inches to short to zip! :confused3 I thought maybe slipping a bag on either end and sealing with a piece of tape. Any other suggestions, anyone?

Well I had sort of the same dilemma in my photography class (I'm still working towards getting a degree) the last couple of years. I needed something cheap to be able to transport 10 11x14 mats with photographs for my final projects. What I found was a scrapbook paper organizer. I got it at walmart on the craft isle it was 2-4 dollars. It says it is made for 12x12 scrapbook paper but 11x14 mats fit in it just perfectly. Mine is about as thick as a 1-1.5 inch binder It looks something similar to this except mine was a lot cheaper and has a handle:

http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat2221&PRODID=prd49101&source=search

If that does not work for you I would try any art or craft supply store. People like me that are taking any sort of art classes will need to be able to transport mats. You might find a little portfolio or a bag that can fit your mat. I'm not sure what stores you have available to you but anywhere they sell mats or craft supplies you should be able to find something.

To test to make sure your mat will fit, before you leave the store, go to the section of the store where they sell mats and see if an 11x14 mat will fit in what you are thinking of purchasing. :thumbsup2 I'd probably go find that in the store first and just wag it around with me.

They also have plastic envelope things but I haven't seen one big enough to hold a 11x14 mat:

http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat2051&PRODID=prd35270

Only other advice I have is make sure you don't drop your mat on the floor. It could greatly dink the corners or edges. I did this with my final project and was sick especially after DH spent all those hours custom cutting my mats and I hadn't shown them for the class yet. Fortunately it wasn't that bad and I think a frame will hide it. I had to have them custom cut as I needed 11x14 with 6x9 openings because that was the required size of my finished print.

Also, take care it doesn't get bent. That would be my biggest concern unless you are putting it in your carry on bag. A laptop type satchel should be able to hold a 11x14. You could put the mat in the center of the accordion part and maybe that would cushion it against possible bending?

Light impressions is a place where they wanted us to order our mats for class and they have things to store mats in and carry them around you might give them a try but they might be pricy: http://www.lightimpressionsdirect.com/servlet/OnlineShopping

I did find this but the bad thing is the quantity is 50:

http://www.lightimpressionsdirect.com/servlet/OnlineShopping?DSP=50000&PCR=30000:160000:161000:161200&IID=20332

Seems several of the items that would work for you have a quantity of 50. Probably wouldn't fit your needs but it will give you an idea.

Maybe try a framing store too.

Hope that helps somewhat. :flower3:

Hi guys! I haven't been on all week. We will be doing the fish extenders! My mom is going to help me with it (she just flew in yesterday and I have a few things for her to do!!:rotfl: ).

When can we have a definite number of who's participating? I'd like to get all the exact details of kids and ages so I know more of what I'm buying. I need to buy my stuff this weekend! I may end up making something personalized.

I'm laughing at myself because I haven't had a chance to do hardly anything for the cruise but I am trying to do the fish extenders!!:rotfl:

If you haven't submitted your info, please submit and update it!!

No cruise docs yet!!

Hi,

My agent called today and said he got my docs and will forward them today! I am so excited but so NOT READY! I have to really start laying out all of my things and seeing what I need to buy.

I also have to go shopping for the fish extender gifts:) I also do not have a actual fish extender. YIKES....

It is getting exciting:lovestruc

I just couldn't stand it any more and I actually put a bunch of things into my suitcase yesterday!!!

I sorted through everything I want to bring, and actually set aside a bunch of outfits, instead of just piles of shirts and shorts.

Lisa came home to me with outfits all over the living room and now thinks I am totally nuts......but to me it feels like my vacation is just around the corner.

I realized that I have plenty of clothes and do not have to buy anything.....which means more fruity drinks for me!

I do have to have my pantsuit for formal night hemmed however.

I can't believe that we are finally only weeks away!!!

Linda

I put my vacation notice in my email signature today! :cool1:

I still need to find shoes and get DH's tux pants hemmed, too. *ugh*

Well, we got one huge thing off of our list! DH got a sport jacket last night, he was a really weird size, and we had it sent in to be shortened on the sleeves. Of course, we spent double what we planned to, but I'm sure he'll get lots of use out of it! :goodvibes

Hopefully, tonite we'll be able to get out the suitcases and tackle my spreadsheet! :wizard:

I am looking forward to a list of the fish extender participants as well. I know my kids and niece and nephew will have tons of fun playing gift fairy at night. I will be grabbing little gifts over the next week or two. We ordered fish extenders on ebay yesterday. Keeping my fingers crossed they arrive in plenty of time.

This is going to be a great cruise!

Lyn

Thanks for the good vibes! Every little bit helps. DS got sick on the last trip and that is basically all he remembers. This trip should be filled with pixie dust to erase those memories!!!!

I hope everyone is getting their checklists completed! I can't believe it is so close now. Kids clothes are packed! Whew what a relief!

Got our docs just today!

Must say that the 7-day cruise docs are nicer than the 4-day!

Although I let Mike look at the docs, and he asked, "Is this price per person or total?"

I lied and said "total." Is that wrong?

We have no electricity...

Bad storms moved through our area last night and knocked out the electricity to some 180,000 homes. According to DH we are still without power and one of my kids teachers told him she heard it might be a couple of days before we get it back. :scared1:

So if you don't hear from me in awhile you'll know why.

I just looked at the last roster but there's not many of up participating in the fish extenders!?!?!? Come on everyone! You only have to deliver once during the week! At first I thought it would be too time consuming but then realized that it's a great way to see the rest of the ship and plus, I will be able to see everyone's door signs that way!

It would be great to have more people to sign up! We are getting our goodies together and would love to have a few more people!!

Captured, can you let us know who's in your party and ages? We need to update that info on the list!!
