May 28, 2009 Wonder Cruise - Anyone Else?

Wow...there are alot the same age. My DD was worried about going with just us, so we let her pick a friend to bring along. With the kids free promo that was not an issue.

We will be leaving from BWV that morning. My plan is to leave there by 9:00am at the latest. I hear that the earlier you get there the better.

Thanks again for setting up the FE...
Andrea

Wow - what a group participating in the FE - I can't what to participate, but need some help on exactly what it is we do.:confused3

We have a great group of kid's the same age - it would be great to all meet and get them together.

I booked my excursions - we are doing the Catamaran Sail in Nassau (my DH's only request of the whole trip) and the parasailing at CC - my DD is going to be thrilled - I did this with her older sister's on our last cruise when she was too young - I can't wait. We might also do the stringrays on CC, but I'm not sure - Brenna didn't like it too much when we did it before in Grand Cayman.

The days are slowly going by - we just added a 3 day stay at Universal to the beginning part of our trip - anyone have any tips for the parks??

Is anyone else having a hard time picking their excursions?? :confused3

We are 2 adults, ds11, ds9, and dd6. I thought planning a parks vacation was tough!

I am so excited to see so many children around my girls ages(10 and 7). I woul love if we did a meet before the kids go off. My girls are a bit shy and I think that it would help them to feel like they know someone.

We are all a bit nervous about our first cruise!

I also want to do the parasailing at CC but I haven't been able to get onto the website all day. Hopefully I will get to book soon!

I have only made a reservation for the Stingray Adventure. I wanted to make sure that I was able to get an earlier time after reading how the water can get merky later in the day -- we booked 10am. My DH and DD would also like to do the parasailing, but I don't want to fill the day up too much. I'm having difficulty deciding on anything for Nassau; I have heard to stay on the boat and enjoy it and not to miss out on the sightseeing. We know that we will be booking another cruise (a longer one -- I am hoping for the 5 night Key West) while onboard, so what we don't do this time we will do next year.

We are only booking the stingrays at CC. This is our first cruise and we don't want to over plan. Just want to relax and enjoy.

We booked the 10:00 AM as well. Was hoping someone might post some more recent navigators so I could see if anything had changed. We aren't booking anything else. We plan to get off in Nassau for a few hours and do the pirate museum there and a little shopping.

This is our first cruise so I also don't want to schedule to many things and feel like we are running from one to another. The cruise will be sandwiched in the middle of two weeks at WDW so I want us to just be able to slow down a little here and enjoy ourselves and relax.

We are planning to be there early to board (hoping we are onboard by noon) and will spend the majority of that first afternoon at the Mickey pool with the slide since that might be the only pool time we have with all the other activites on the ship and I'm sure it will get crowded once we set sail.

We're not doing any excurions on this trip. We probably won't even get off the ship in Nassau. We'll definately explore Castaway Cay, however.

I booked a manicure for the Nassau day for myself. Looking forward to that.

Andrea,

I booked the 10am stringray excursion too - we did the stringrays in Grand Cayman last year and the waves were so rough, I'm hoping this will be an much better experience for my DD.

Cristy,

That's where we'll be headed once onbard the ship - I know my DD will want to spend the afternoon at the Mickey pool - I'm gonna sneak off while she's swimming (with DH watching her) to decorate our cabin for her birthday before she sees it.

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing - hope everyone had a great weekend. Counting down the days.

I finished my fish extender over the weekend...one more thing off the list!

Ony 72 days more...I can't wait!!!!!

Spent the weekend working on my door magnets:lmao:

Tried planning my shore excursions. We are doing the stingray thing at CC. Nassau we are just going to get off the boat after lunch and just do a little shopping. No excursions there.

Is anyone doing spa treatment? My DH and I want to do the beer and wine tasting, but on past navigators, they are literally back to back. We don't want to be 3 sheets to the wind :rotfl2:

Not to mention all the flounder spots are taken for that time.

Any tips on making the FE - I dont have a sewing machine, so I need to use bonding tape or no sew glue - I'm heading to the fabric store tomorrow night.

Cristy,

can you child with the nut allergy have plain Hershey's chocolate? I don't want to give them something they can't eat in the their FE.

Tammy,

Luckily I have a machine, but it is only used for these types of projects.
The only tip that I would have is to have fun with it. I took suggestions on size (I did approximately 8" x 36"), materials that sort of thing from some of the FE's that have been posted on the boards.

Yes she can. And her sensitivity is not to the extreme point. She is okay with items that say processed in a plant that also processes nuts, peanuts. She only has a bad reaction when she actually has nuts or peanut butter directly. She loves the little mini Hershey chocolate bars.

Thanks!

Yes it looks that way. :goodvibes I'd really like to see the new Navigators though. One of the reports I read said it was a push to get to the 10:00 AM from the ship.
