May 28, 2009 Wonder Cruise - Anyone Else?

:
Trying to figure out how to pack light!! Especially having to pack 5 beach towels!

Ami

Just curious as to why you are bringing beach towels - on our last cruise they had towels at the pool and the gangway for taking on the island? We also bought a beach towel while on Castaway Cay - it was a great souvenir.

Tammy

I think either time is good. We have to do the safety drill at 4. How much time do we want to spend?

Does everyone have their cabin assignment?

With the saftey drill at 4:00, I think 3pm would be better. We do not have our cabin number yet!!

That's great! I didn't realize that they would have any to use on the island when we get off the ship. :scared1:So much to think about!!! Especially being a newbie!!
Thanks for the info Tammy!!!

Hi all! Are you all getting excited as we count down the days? We sure are!!!

Well today I am sitting here thinking, we really need to run the kids by with their applications for the photo passport card today but then I started thinking......we sail May 28 - 31st. So technically we are getting back the day before the implement that requirement. DH & I have passport books but the kids have never traveled outside the country.

They do have birth certificates and military dependent picture ID's.

So I am wondering.......how many of you are doing passports and how many of you will just be using the birth certificates for you kids?

Thanks,
Cristy

We have passports for all of our family members (including our 5 month old). I am kinda a freak about that sort of stuff and it just gives me a piece of mind. I think you should be fine!!

I went with the passport book and made sure that my DD's friend got the same...the only issue would be if we needed to fly out of Nassau or thereabouts for some unforeseen reason, the passport book would be required. Not that it would happened, but I'm always planning for everything. Plus, the passport books don't expire until they are 16 or so and I'm sure that we will be doing another cruise or two by that time. That might be something else to think about...you will be able to use the passport book more than the card in the future and it's just a bit more $.

Christy,

We ordered the passport books for everyone. I didn't want to have to start over again if we decided to go again or take a trip overseas.

We bought passports for all 5 of us. I wanted to be safe rather than sorry. We are definitely up to a meet at 3:00 on Thursday. I really want the girls (10,8, and 3) to meet someone before going to the kids club.

Hi all! Who is keeping track of the fish extender list? I would like to make a few personalized items and I would like to know the family last names and the name, ages, and gender of each child. I am not asking much am I? :rotfl2:

Thank you for organizing!!

Dawn (basketrn) is making the list of who wants to participate. I have a list of the kiddos first names, ages and genders that I have collected. I can PM them if we don't want them listed on the site. I do not have family names though.

I will pm you a list this weekend. I do not have everyone's first names and don't have many last names. I do have all the kiddo's names I think...will have to look at my list.

Also, everyone...if you have your room numbers, can you pm them to me so that I can add that to the list. TIA!!

What time is everyone planning on arriving at the port?

I can't decide what time to arrive. I know it doesn't open until 10:30, but I was curious what everyone else was planning on?

I am trying to figure out a way to get the children to take the bonine without them questioning it too much.............

Our plane doesn't arrive in Orlando until 9am, have to get the rental car, drive to port, stop at grocery store (buy baby stuff..diapers, formula, etc) and then go to port. So who knows what time :confused3

I sent everyone involved in the Fish Extender Exchange a PM tonight with the most up to date list I have.

Please let me know if you didn't get it!!

Dawn

Hey Everyone -

We plan on arriving at the port around 10am - we will drop off our rental car at Avis and take their shuttle to the port.

This surprise is getting harder and harder to keep - I'm having trouble not talking about the cruise when DD is around. She watched the DCL dvd last week and asked "When can we go on another cruise?"

I finished my Fish Extender last week - thanks Dawn for the updated list, this is going to be fun!!

Tammy

We are hoping to arrive by 10am also; at least that is the plan. We got a great deal on our rental so it will be cheaper to leave it at the port than to drop it off and pick up another one after.

I don't know how you are keeping it a secret...I would have let it slip by now. My DD has to be involved in every aspect though, so there is no surprising her.

Well, our kids just think we are going to Disney World. That is the norm for our vacation. We have been talking about different things for us to do this year. I still don't know what we are going to tell them the morning we head to the port. I suppose i will tell them there was something fun I read about there...
