For those of you flying in the night before, any hotel suggestions?

We have stayed twice at the Residence Inn... no complaints and the buffet was nice in the morning.

Has anybody decided on any excursions you're planning on taking? Our kids would like to swim with dolphins, but I'm feeling guilty about the captivity of those poor animals If we decide to do it, has anyone done it in any of the ports where we will be stopping? I read on the boards that one of the places in Cozumel with the dolphins had ice cold water! I hate cold water! Does anyone know if this is with all dolphin encounters?​

We did the dolphin encounter in Chankanaab. It was the highlight of our trip! The park was great to swim in the pools. ( grab a quick lunch). The beach was rocky though.
The water in Sept was still warm. ( and I am a wimp!)

Does anyone have any other favorite excursion that they have enjoyed? We live in Florida so we can experience the dolphins here... It would be myself, my husband and our 7 year old daughter. Any ideas are welcome I can't believe it's only 139 days away!!!

Hey guys! It's been a LONG time since I've been here and I'm sure that I've missed a TON!!! I'm pretty sure that my family is on the FE exchange list, but I don't know of anything else that's out there. Let me know what I've missed!!

Just a recap - It's myself (Amy), my husband (Chris) and daughters (Emily - 10) and (Madison - 8). This will be our 9th DCL cruise, since our oldest was just 2 and I was pregnant with my "baby". And...we're hooked!!! We headed out on the Dream for a quick 3-night cruise in September and they all loved it, especially the AquaDuck. Of course, it was WAY too short, and they are all dying to go on a longer cruise. We booked this SO long ago, that I think that they forgot that we're sailing on the Fantasy this year, and I think that I'm going to see if I can keep it a secret.

So, fill me in on what I've missed and I hope to be here more...Amy

I've been away for forever too! I haven't been planning/reading much for this cruise, as I wasn't sure that my DH would be able to come until after the holiday season had passed. We are a GO!!

We have friends (multi-families) who have moved their cruise dates to this one , so this is shaping up to be very exciting!

We signed up for the FE way back, hope we are still on the list. Any ballpark on numbers/cabins for that or are we waiting until April for numbers? I was wanting to mail order some things for FE, but may wait to see how our numbers are shaping up.

The older I get and the more cruises we take (not that we have had that many), it seems the more last minute I am becoming. I'm becoming more laidback, relaxed, fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants like

Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays, we sure did. We have been here for 6 months now and it feels like home now. Beachy dreaming will get me through the rest of winter, but honestly the weather hasn't been that hard this winter.

Well we had Thanksgiving and Christmas, and oh New Year's... Haha, just kidding.. Couldn't resist. I tried to keep the cruise a secret from my kids, but I just couldn't hold it in any more... They both know now. I am still planning the Cruise easter baskets and already started buying items for it and then we will do the countdown. I think we are going to Sunday Disney night theme nights until the cruise.

Seriously you have not missed much!!

Sounds as though they found out at just the right time. Any sooner would have felt like a lifetime to them. Now they can help with the planning

FE count

As of right now there are 24 cabins participating in the FE. I have not heard from 2. I am working the list, and will send a list via email soon, just so everyone has an idea with adults/ kids!

This trip is going to come up so fast for me. It dawned on me the other day, I will be able to start booking excursions in February I have no idea what to book. But then I have not paid off the cruise yet either - so I guess I should get to it.

Right now we are probably stayong at WDW the two nights before - I had considered Residence Inn but DD and DH think they will be bored at the hotel the day before. Can't have that now can we - and who am I to argue about more time at WDW. YEAH!!!

We arent leaving until Friday night to drive. ( kids last day of school.) so the Residence Inn is literally just a place to sleep for us! (and did I mention it is normally free since dh travels so much. )

I am hoping the Fantasy keeps the same dinner rotations for booking Palo. We might be in the minority.. but I do not like getting dressed up on formal night, so that is when we do Palo.. my girls however love the dresses etc.

We've done WDW the day before and it's only a short 1 hour drive from WDW to the port, so it's not too bad!

Our last day of school is that Thursday, but I'm a teacher, so Friday is our day for end of the year meetings and clean out of our classrooms. I think that we'll drive over on Friday night just to crash too.

Our DD's last day of school is Wednesday, which we thought was early. My neice and nephew are in Tampa but they have another couple of weeks of school in Florida. Is yours a private school or are the public schools in Florida migrating to a different schedule?

We're private, so we get out earlier. Actually, we almost always get out the Thursday before Memorial Day, which is nice!! It gives us that extra week or so before the rest of the local kids get out.

Thanks. It sounds like your Haley will be six during the cruise and ours only 20 months but we should try to get a picture of the two of them together.

We're private, so we get out earlier. Actually, we almost always get out the Thursday before Memorial Day, which is nice!! It gives us that extra week or so before the rest of the local kids get out.

If we have no snow days the last day of school for the students is May 17 and me May 18. Last year we were supposed to get out at the same time but had so many snow days we went until after Memorial Day. Here's hoping we don't have more than a weeks worth of snow days this year. Of course the kids started August 17 and me a week before.
