Welcome to all the new families!! :)

My friend just got back from the Dream...and they loved it... the biggest complaint were the rooms on Deck 5 aft... it is above a night club and the rooms are jumping until 3am.

It definitely seems like the Dream has more of a nightlife then the Magic and Wonder did.

Yeah, welcome aboard!! You make the 20th family to join us! Amazing how quickly the ship is filling up so far out. Which categories were already gone? Any of the insides left?

We had to book an 8C. Everything cheaper than that was gone for a family of four. I say that because there were only 4 8C rooms left that they would book for 4 passengers. The Disney rep used the term "capacity control" if I recall correctly. Basically, even though the room fits 4, they don't have lifeboats for every one of those rooms to have 4 pasengers in it.

So, if you have 2 or 3 passengers, you may get a better deal than we did. When we first looked at this cruise in Nov 2010, we saw that it would cost us about $4100. I printed that out and we planned to book onboard. We looked again this past weekend and saw that we were stuck with Cat 8C at a cost of $4600 or so, so we grabbed it before we were further limited. We spend very little time in the room, so we don't mind having an inside or higher category room.

I really like the 8C's, C's-A's really. The layout looks spacious and the window seat looks really comfy.

I was looking the other night to see where the prices were and had noticed the same thing you are saying, if you put in 4 people the lowest category you could get was in the 5's, but if you changed it to 2 or 3 people then all the categories were open.

I know it's early, but I thought I would ask anyways:

Where is everyone staying the night before the cruise? I thought I would keep a list and we could plan a precruise DISmeet dinner at Fishlips (or maybe somewhere else, any suggestions?)

We will be staying by the port either at the Radisson or Country Inn and suites. It will depend on rate.

We are looking at those hotels too, but haven't committed anywhere yet. Since we're coming from the west coast we might not arrive in time for dinner. I'll have to wait and see what flights are available when it's close enough to book those. A breakfast meet before hitting the terminal could be fun.

more than likely we will stay at the Residence Inn by the port. We stayed there in Dec. It was clean, had breakfast and was a 2 minute drive to the port. ( John is platinum with Marriott, so we only stay there.)
We will leave Friday night, so we wont get in until 1am or so.

after the cruise, I am hoping to go to Disney for a day or 2. :)

we are staying in disney thurs and fri night and doing fri in the magic kingdom but the main reason for staying is so we can get medical equipment delivered my daughter is g-tube fed and on vent so I need 40 cans of formula a o2 concentrator a back up vent, suction and my nephew is on peritinal dialasis and needs 20 5 liter bags of solution ,a bp machine, a scale his dialalis machine lots of meds another 40 cans of formula so we need time ti make sure we get everything without having to carry it all with us to the airport. the trip home will me much lighter

We could also do custom lanyards and do a meet either before the port or at the terminal. I would be curious to see how Dream cruisers are coordinating that with how crowded the terminal is now with 4,000 passengers.

I was thinking we would take Friday off, since Monday was Memorial Day we could get the extra day and leave early Friday morning to drive down. The Residence Inn doesn't sound like a bad option, my sister travels a lot and always offers me her Marriott points. I am glad you liked it, and will definitely check into that option.

I am hoping to do a day or two after the cruise as well. I have been reading a thread on the WDW boards about booking Premium for the 1 night so we could do Cirque De Soleil and dinner at Narcoossees. We have never done either one of these and I thought that would be a lot of fun.

Where are you ordering the supplies from?

Our kids last day of school is May 25th, so I dont think we will taking them out of school... but that could easily change! :) Gab will be done with 8th grade by then, and I know they dont go.. but Natalie will be in 6th grade and that might be her field day.

my sil loves Narcos.... :) I have thought about doing the Deluxe ddp too, just to try there and a few other places!!

Scott will be finishing 8th grade also next year so I am not concerned about his last day of school, and Haley will be finishing kindergarten so I am definitely not concerned with her last day!!

Does the Residence Inn let you do the park and ride?

I dont think they do.....we had a free room last time, so we paid for parking instead. I know CIS does a package... but you have to book it with a package. ( I know some of my friends got their rooms from priceline there.)

we just went over mail we received about this cruise.. one said Western, once said Eastern.... whoops there!!

Sorry haven't been on the boards in a while. Just got caught up on all I have missed. DH and I have been discussing the cruise and his hope is that we can work a few days of WDW in before the cruise. Of course I have plenty of time to think about that.

We ate at Fishlips before our NYE cruise and we loved it. DH said he would totally be in for a meet there. So count us in if that is an option that everyone wants to do. If we come to the port a day early we usually stay at the La Quinta Beachfront. We really enjoyed it and it is not too far from the port.

Welcome to all the families that have joined the cruise since me. I look forward to meeting everyone and all the discussions we will have between now and then.

our company here at home has a branch in orlando so i just have to coordinate what i need there versus what i need at home and my nephews stuff is delivered ups and has meet us when we went to tenn. so the hospital dialasis unit does all that for my sister

Welcome, a cruise wedding would be incredible!! Where is he planning on proposing at WDW? My husband proposed to me at Mama Melrose at Hollywood Studios (MGM at the time), and my girlfriend just got engaged in Paris at Chef's De France.

Yes there is a facebook page, if you click on the join us on the first page it will take you over to the page.

Thank you for all the welcomes. He is working with a company in Orlando - Gifts of a Lifetime. They do all the planning and come up with a "sneaky" surprise way to propose. I think they will do something like telling her she will be a princess for a day if she agrees to be photographed for public advertising - then at some point they will include Daniel (my DS) and he will pop the question. The entire immediate family plus her mom will be there (18 of us total) so we are very excited. I am excited about learning more about the Disney Cruise weddings. I know Kara (girlfriend) is considering a destination wedding and wants to look into the cruise wedding.
