We didnt think the construction at MK was too bad. ( we were there in Sept and Dec...so we have seen the progress.) Winnie the Pooh is all finished... it is awesome! ( the ride did not change.. just the line.) The line now has all kinds of activities for the kids to play with.. .super super cute!!

toontown is completely closed. No more Mickeys tent, barnstormer or Mickey/Minnie house. From the train you can see Beasts castle.. wondering if they are going to do a dinner with Belle/ Beast... and there is a track for a roller coaster.

Main Street has one section completely boarded up... so there is a covered wooden section...so no curb seating for the parade.. (but that kind of stuff doesnt bother us.)

Didnt go to Haunted mansion...

there is now a meet n greet with the Princesses... right by the dole whips. when we got there, there were 4 princesses and only a 5 minute wait.

I just read that the rollercoaster that you saw, is going to be the seven dwarfs mine rollercoaster. I am super excited about that!!

I am definitely planning a trip for early 2013 to spend a lot of time at MK for the new Fantasyland. I hope they do a dinner with Beauty and Beast meet and greet. Belle is one of my personal favorites. Haley is still big on Cindy so we always have to see her, but she likes Belle.

I am so sad that Mickey and Minnie's houses gone :sad1:, we always enjoyed visiting the houses.

5 minutes to see the Princesses, that is unheard of!!

Absolutely!! Welcome!! We are also on the late dining with the 7pm show.

we were supposed to go to Costa Maya in Sept 08, but the dock wasnt finished in time. (hurricane wiped it out.) we did Cozumel instead... we did the dolphin encounter and had soo much fun!! :)

I am considering the dolphin encounter for Grand Cayman. Still not sure about that or the stingray city?? Stingray city looks like a lot of fun.

This will be our 5th cruise (4th Disney). Glad to see a few other (18+) young adults!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the welcomes! This will be our first Disney cruise. All the commercials on the Disney channel about the Dream has the kids begging to go on a cruise so we so we decided to splurge for the 20th anniversary trip.

We've cruised on Holland America twice (1996 & 98) so it's been awhile! Both of those cruises were Western Caribbean too. Grand Cayman is fabulous! We tried to do Stingray City the last time but the wind was blowing the wrong direction so it was canceled. I hope to get to it this time. Also been to Cozumel. Never Costa Maya or Castaway Cay of course.

Been to WDW many times, so many that I don't need to plan much anymore. Kind of glad I've got so much time before we sail to research and learn it all!

Welcome YippeeDCL, I love your screen name!

Shel, every time those commercials come on Disney my daughter asks when she can go back on the Mickey boat. We keep telling her one day, there is no way I could survive 18 months of "when are we leaving". I want to surprise them with there Easter baskets next year with the cruise.

This morning I ran into friends of ours and they asked me to put together an itinerary for them taking there niece and nephews to Disney for this first time over Spring Break. Mitch thought I was crazy when I had the whole week typed up in a half hour!! I enjoy the planning process so much!!

How did you like your Holland Cruises? They have some itineraries that I would love to take, just Mitch and I?

Totally understand the planning fun! Kind of nice actually to have a challenge again since I really don't need to plan much for WDW anymore.

Holland America was really nice. Of course it was 13 years ago since I was last on one of their ships but both that I took I was happy with. Excited about doing the Disney with kids. I am sure it is much more kid friendly than HAL was. Even though I had a great time the ship was full of the stereotypical older cruisers. I don't remember seeing kids around. I would totally look into HAL for an adult cruise trip!

Seeing 4 pages of comments for a trip that is over a year away has inspired to post that we MIGHT be on this as well. We're on the March 27th Mexican Riviera cruise and we'll book onboard to get the discount and OBC.

We're debating between transatlantic, Europe or a new ship.

BTW, we're Dad, Mom and 2 girls who will be 7 and 9 in 2012.

We're officially in. We booked today after we noticed that certain categories were already not available.

Has anyone been to Costa Maya before?

I am looking at Maya Chen for a beach day there and was wondering if anyone on here had any experience with it?

We were at Costa Maya last summer on Carnival. This is one of my favorite stops. We took a bus ($6-round trip)to the beach, Mahahual, spent the day at one of the beach clubs and shopping in at the port. We were there on the Magic prior to hurricane Dean that devastated the village.

Maybe this will work.....

That's what I was worried about, while HAL would be just for Mitch and I, I don't want to spend the week with my in-laws (no offense to them, but not my idea of the funnest crowd). I loved DCL, I think Disney does the elegance and family friendly blend so well.

Yeah, welcome aboard!! You make the 20th family to join us! Amazing how quickly the ship is filling up so far out. Which categories were already gone? Any of the insides left?

I could stare at that picture all day long. I am glad you like Mahahual. I have read so many mixed reviews. Do you remember which beach club you were at?

Welcome to all the new families!! :)

My friend just got back from the Dream...and they loved it... the biggest complaint were the rooms on Deck 5 aft... it is above a night club and the rooms are jumping until 3am.

Keep in mind it was 13 years ago I was last on HAL. The demographics may have changed a bit since I think it is more "in style" to cruise than it was back then. Maybe try and post on some non-Disney forums and see what people who have cruised HAL more recently have to say.
