May 26, 2010--5/26/2010 10 Night Mediterranean

We went from Category 9 to Category 6! Now have a verandah. My only concern is we were on deck 2 and now on deck 6, near Aft elevators. Since we have never cruised before, I am a little nervous about seasickness. Do you think we will be okay?

Congrats on the upgrade! I have the same concern with us being very far aft on deck 8, but you also have the veranda for fresh air if you do feel queasy. DH and DD both suffer motion sickeness so I'm going to start them both on Bonine the day before we sail. The stabilizers are really good on the ship though. We felt little motion on our last cruise.

Wow! That is an amazing upgrade. Congrats!

We are also on deck six aft near the back. I worry about seasickness too. Lets keep our fingers crossed!

I think it is definitely worth the upgrade to a veranda for me :yay:, but I will be taking some precautions to avoid the possibility of seasickness!!
Deb-where are you from in Maryland? I grew up in Virginia, but live out West now! My husband grew up in Ellicott City, Md.

I still have no room assignment, but I hope to have one soon. I am getting soooo excited about this trip. 49 days and counting.

went from cat 12 to cat 11

Oh I am excited to see tha ta 12 has been assigned. Ours have not yet been assigned--even if we get no upgrade (which we are okay with--we are also in the happy to have a great deal and only sleeping and showering in the room camp), it is so nice to have a room number.
Karen--I promise to email you as soon as a have numbers (for FEs). The kids and I tagged along with David to Czech this week (it is spring break) so if it comes in while we are travelling home I may not be able to email for a day or two--so if all your other 12s get in before me please forgive me:flower3:

Congrats to those of you with pixie dust already and good luck to all the rest.

Hi everyone. My dh (37) and I (32) have been lurking for a while on this site but haven't been brave enough to post yet (we're quite shy..not after a couple of cocktails though :rotfl:)
We will also be on this cruise, we booked in February this year. Very very excited. We married a couple of years ago at Disneyworld and haven't had the opportunity to visit again since (I have been a few times with my folks over the years but the wedding was my dh's first experience of Disney..he is now as hooked as me..thankfully )
I just checked the disney website and have found that we have been blessed with the ole pixie dust :cool1: Cat 12 - cat 6. Over the mooooooon! Can't believe we have a verandah :yay: I can see lovely lazy (hopefully sunny) mornings ahead with room service brekkie- lush!
We cruised last year with RCCL - which we loved but only had an inside cabin so this has made our year. I can't stop hopping about on my seat at work I am just so excited. (My colleagues think I am nuts lol)
We have enjoyed following this thread and have got lots of tips for excursions so thank you. We are doing DIY on all days. (tight budget plus we don't like rigid plans and like to see how we feel on the day)

Happy Cruising everyone and hope you all recieve some pixie dust!! :cheer2::dance3:

That is AMAZING!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I have never heard of them going from more than one room type (inside, outside, verandah) in an upgrade (so they would go from inside to outide or outside to verandah--but inside to varandah is something i have previously believed impossible). You are so lucky--how wonderful for you:yay:

Congratulations!!! Lots of pixie dust sent your way!!! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:These Spring Med and TA cruises are the first times I have heard people jumping up so many categories!!! Several on the May 15th cruise went from a cat 12 to a 6, even solo cruisers! So awesome for everyone! I like to think of it like the lottery, some hit big, others stay the same! LOL No pattern to the upgrades once again! Can't believe we'll be sailing in 48 DAYS!!!

I know- I never thought it possible either. We are just so so happy! My parents are sailing on the May 15th cruise and have been upgraded from cat 12 - cat 9. (I think cat 9. They now have oceanview on deck 2) They are over the moon with their upgrade but now feel a bit jealous over ours hahahaha. I am just so excited now that I can't focus at all. Since I logged on this morning and found out I haven't really done much work at all today..ooops :rolleyes1

Thank you. We are so chuffed... however I am starting to feel quite bad for those cruisers who booked and paid for verandahs and yet haven't been upgraded. That would really suck!

Now now, Carla... don't rub it in!!!!! Pixie dust is not coming our way so far either...:sad2:

Hello! I live in Carroll County Maryland about 15 minutes from Ellicott City!! What a small world. What part of Virginia?
I think it is definitely worth the upgrade to a veranda for me :yay:, but I will be taking some precautions to avoid the possibility of seasickness!!
