I have a couple of questions.
1) What time is breakfast scheduled? We have some early morning excursions and I do not want to go hungry....or is it just the character breakfast scheduled and we hit Topsiders? Room Service? My measely memory is failing me!!!

2)...Ladies. Have a dilemma...for the semi and formal nites...one fancy dress with different accesories or a couple of dresses? Mine don't take up a lot of room, but I just don't want to over-pack. Any help is appreciated. :confused3

3) I am getting sooooooooooooooooo excited. :yay:

Ok, these questions are not earth shattering but MAYBE someone else is also thinking the same thing (please,,,,don't make me feel too stupid!:crazy2:)

Thanks, mari:thanks:
There is no such thing as a stupid question. Personally, I'd bring one dress. Nobody else will know but you and the picture you take home. Less to pack.

I'm super excited too! I finally figured out what I'm giving to everyone      A huge relief!:yay:

I followed up with DCL on the VAT refund today.

They are informing guests to sae receipts - separated by country visited. We will receive more information onboard about the refund. My guess is this is one time we may want to attend or watch the disembarkation talk :)

Actually I would expectthis to be covered at the shopping seminars since the shops have to do a special validation on the receipts.

IN any event DCL plans to cover it with us so it is one less pre-packing research issue.

Thanks Tracey

I plan on lots of mixing and matching within the selected packing. Jewelry and scarfs take up less room than dresses.

On the other hand - it would be a fun game to follow everyones "outfit of the day" and guess how many peices of clothing they really did get by with - only kidding:rotfl2: :rotfl2:. It is nice having laundry services available on board though

OMG OMG OMG

Do I have everyone's attention now? :rotfl:

Every time I call DCL I ask people if they have new info for me. Well today I was really excited about what I heard!!!!

Starting 5/12, wireless internet will be expanded on the Magic to be available in the staterooms :woohoo: :woohoo:

Also starting 5/12, cell phone service will be available when the ship is at least 2 miles out at sea!! Cingular, AT&T, Sprint & T-Mobile services will be available. They recommend that you contact your cell phone company and international rates may apply. Now I wish I had one of those carriers :(

Did they say what the cost was going to be for the internet? Is it still going to be the $.75 per minute rate? Not sure how they would monitor that but I'm sure they have a way!! :surfweb:

Actually it's very easy to monitor. The lowest package is 75 cents a minute. The best package is usually much less. When you launch your internet browser, it is re-routed to the Disney login. You sign in there and it is just like when you use their machines as far as tracking.

1 Character breakfast is scheduled, the rest is not. When we are in port early, many of the dining options will be available earlier.

2 I am bringing an easy to pack formal and a little black dress that is reversible so two dresses for the packing of two. I can wear the same shoes for both.

3 I am there with you!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Tracy

Thanks for the info.

Perhaps I'll bring two dresses and accesorise....oh, now for the jewelry......:headache: What's a gal gonna do...decisions, decisions. :dance3:

I really do wish DCL would let us know about the different themed nights...Pirates, ok...but I just hate to be under (over) dressed. Ah well, it will all be wonderful...such worries we should have on board ship overlooking the Mediterranean:boat: and enjoying a DOD, martini, wine, champagne.:drinking1 ....ahhh wonder what the poor people will be doing.....oh, wait, that'll be us after this trip is paid for:scared: :rotfl:

Let me say something, seriously...(might be the only time, so listen up) I do so appreciate all the suggestions, guidance, ideas and friendship that this disboard has given to all. It is priceless. I am so looking forward to meeting sooo many new friends and refreshing hugs with our friends from cruising past!!! Love to you all!!!!:grouphug:

Peace, Mari:disrocks:

We booked this cruise the first of Arpil, 2006 and it seems like the last 13 months have just flown by! But now it seems like time has come to a crawl! The next two weeks are gonna take forever! Argh!!!!

BTW, I emailed DCL yesterday about what movies will be shown and Pirates of the Caribbean 'At World's End' (Premieres 5/25/07) will be shown! Here's all the movies that will be shown on our cruise:

Wild Hogs
Meet the Robinsons
Bridge to Terabithia
Prestige
Deja Vu
Guardian
Cars
Pirates of the Caribbean 'Dead Man's Chest'
Pirates of the Caribbean 'At World's End' (Premieres 5/25/07)
Primeval
The Wild
Invincible
The Shaggy Dog
Step Up

Hmmm...I wonder what happened tio the European-themed movies we heard about earlier like Casablanca and Casino Royale????

Just wondering if anyone includes binoculars :3dglasses in their packing? I've never brought them before, but thought I may want to use them for the Mediterranean coast. I have some, but packing for this trip is a totally different experience than packing for Port Canaveral. Any opinions?:confused3

Yes! We use them while in port, coming into port, passing something interesting, etc. We have a very small set of binoculars that is almost like opera glasses (but much cheaper). They work great!

Awesome! Now I hope they have enough bandwidth to deal with all of us. With so many experienced cruisers there is bound to be tons of internet activity. I actually need it for work so I'm a little worried about the bandwidth.

If I remember correctly, the cell phone service ran about $4/minute on the other cruise lines that have similar service. I have Sprint so I'm excited about this! Although that means I'm going to have to carry BOTH phones now. My regular cell phone while on the ship and the GSM phone when I'm not.

1) Character breakfast is the only "scheduled" breakfast. The buffets open pretty early but I remember the sit-down breakfast being a bit later. Whenever we had an early excursion we couldn't do the sit-down. There are also a set of early "treats" available up on deck 9. Besides the coffee, they have fruits, muffins, breads, yogurt, etc. I think it's there until 6:30 or 7.

2) I'm taking two reversible skirts. For the formal night, I'm wearing the black skirt with a fancy top. The others will rotate around as I see fit. It's cool though - two skirts gets me FOUR outfits! And the tops also go with pants I'm bringing for Paris. If it wasn't for Paris, I would only bring one of the reversible skirts.

3) Me too! We leave TWO WEEKS from TODAY!!!

The theme shouldn't matter much for dress. Take a look at any of the 10 or 11-night cruises to get an idea. It'll be almost identical. You have:

ONE formal night
TWO semi-formal nights
ONE pirate night
SEVEN casual nights

Let the rest be a surprise!

As for jewelry, I'm not bringing any except for what I wear 24x7. I don't want to risk having something stolen - or give muggers/purse snatcher/pickpockets reason to believe I have any $! One of the websites I looked at suggested carrying only cheap costume jewelry. It can be fun - and you won't care if it gets stolen or broken.
