Hi Everyone,

Got the cruise docs. today. :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo:  :cool1:

A patient in dsis's office who is originally from Italy told her to buy cheap undies and throw them away after use. That theory may solve some of the packing problems I may experience on the way home. :rotfl2:  :rotfl2:  I wouldn't have to do so much laundry either.

Pocono

That's what I'm doing for DDs' clothes. I am packing clothes that I found on clearance at Target and will plan on leaving them on the ship. That way, we will have almost 2 empty suitcases to fill up with souvenirs.

A MILLION KAZILLION thanks to Ken (kpros) for all of his work on the lanyard list. And thanks to Karen (and group), Alex/Carolyn, Peter/Jenn, Celeste and Jennie, Jeanne/John, Kathy (and group), Marie (and group), Jen (and group), Tracy/Bill and Bob/Dale for sponsoring this wonderful gift. The lanyards are the VERY BEST souvenir of our DCL cruises. I can't wait to get ours - and to thank all of you in person.

Thanks!!!!!

  :worship: :worship: :thanks: :thanks:

Im Wearing mine NOW :rotfl2:

Ken Thank you!!!

You have out done yourself!!!!

I second that! :woohoo: (except for the wearing it now part...:lmao: ) Thanks everyone for your hard work. :dance3: :dance3:

You can't find anyone else to go that can cover part of the cost?

Sorry, about your in-lawas; but just think...we'll have soooo much fun!

Nope, the only people would be my parents, but then they would need airfare and there are no seats left on our flights. (plus we are spending the night in Paris on the way back)
Just too hard for my parents (they are older and the flight would be hard on them)

We will get $700 back from DCL for each of them, not much but at least it's something. I suppose we are saving more $$ as we now don't have to pay for their tips, excursions, and other expenses.

Holy Cow! I'm full of posts....sorry....:confused3

Since I've volunteered for this:
On the Nose Gameshow: "On the Nose" is a gameshow on board that pits one part of the audience against the other parts. They give you a sticker before you get in the theater with a section to sit in because they want to spread you out. We could all meet in Preludes and then go together and say we are one family. Scooby3x1y has volunteered to plan this.

Is there anything I can do to "help" us? Where do the questions come from? Is there anyone who has done this that can give me a clue what to expect? It would be fun if I could do something to distinguish our group, but I need some background info. popcorn::

Update on stateroom gifts.

Due to an outrageously high cost of shipping internationally, I am carrying on all of the gifts and prizes from Dreams Unlimited Travel. Therefore, I do have to make a couple limitations. Each DISboard name will get one gift bag regardless of the number of cabins with a limit of one per cabin. If you have multiple rooms, the first room listed will get the gift bag. There are a couple items that I have a limited quantity (remember I ordered this stuff when there was 36 DISers on the list and there is now over 60!). I have arbitrarily decided that the last to report their stateroom numbers will get something different if I run out. I have enough of the main gifts, but a couple of the extras are limited. If I don't get your cabin number before I leave, I will still try to get you a gift bag, but please understand if I don't -- I only know you by your DISboard and sometimes first names only so Guest Services can't help me. If you don't want your cabin number shared online, you can send me a PM.

And if you see a short person dragging six pieces of luggage through the Barcelona airport wearing something with Mickey on it no doubt hopping and bubbling around, it's probably me :teeth:

You are too wonderful to all of us! Thanks for all of your hard work (and thanks to Dreams too) for making this such a special cruise. I don't think that anyone will mind having just one gift per DIS member. Just getting a gift at all (even if it's "something different") is awesome!

THANKS!

I'm sorry you have to go through them backing out so close to the cruise. I would be spitting mad! :wizard: that everything works out okay. You are right - it will be less expensive that it would have been if they came. And just think - you now have great ammunition to hold over you MIL for the foreseeable future!

I know this has been asked and answered, but, what is the deal with Cell Phone usage on board? I understand that, when in port, you pay the rate you have negotiated with your cell phone company, and when we are 2 miles out to sea we can communicate using the cell towers on the ship. When I talked to Cingular/AT&T today :surfweb: they did not have any notation as to an agreement with Disney Cruise Lines so they could not tell me the rates. They said that with most cruise lines it runs around $2.49/min.. Does anyone know from experience if this is correct? :confused3

I just thought I'd share this idea. My sister says her dh always hogs the hangers. She's been saving her dry cleaning hangars and then she'll have enough for her clothes. Then, they're no big deal to leave behind.;)

I've been doing this too~for months on end! Last cruise we asked for more hangers and they brought me the most beat up things. I figured I could leave them behind for the next occupants too~and have more room in my suitcase for things I buy!

Where is Jeanneg? I've heard about her vacation undies :rotfl: :rotfl:

Actaually, I'm having a problem......at last count, I was only up to 7 pairs of panties (having used all the really raggy ones for Cruistoberfest V!) I am either going to have to bring new ones (heavens forbid!) or delegate a few more "borderline" pairs to the vacation bin. You do NOT want to see my cruise underwear!

Ron,

last time I was on a cruise with cellphone service, the charge was $5.00 per minute.(I use T-Mobile)
WARNING. if you leave your phone on and never answer it. and just let it go to voicemail. there is still a charge!!.
so turn your phones off.

see Y'all soon.

I'm sooooo sad! Everyone else is getting their cruise docs....

I'm still hung up on kids' passports. I called, they said they'd been worked on yesterday, and the lady said she'd fax them to encourage them to overnight them. :woohoo: With a little :wizard: pixie dust, I hope to have them by Friday.

:scared1: oh my gosh!!!!!!!! I would be just be bbesides myself!! :scared:
I will say my prayers for you....with dealing with a US gov't agency, you'll need them! I will have to say, once they are done, they are very spiffy on getting them to you.:grouphug:
Peace and swift :snail: mail.
mail,
Mari

It's more like $4/min from what I remember seeing quoted. Here's a link on more info for you. They say to expect $4.50/min.
