holidayfanatic and Exploring "4" Fun - If you are out there, please send me the first names of everyone in your group if you want to receive the free name badges and lanyards. If I don't hear from you soon, you may miss out.

We're staying at the Hotel Continental on Las Ramblas for 2 nights pre-cruise. I think it's like a 2 star hotel, but they had accomodations for 4 of us which we found a challenge. Sounds like it has lots of atmosphere but might be a little noisy due to it's location, but we're bringing ear plugs and a "white noise" machine and should be pretty wiped out from the flight.

For formal & semi-formal nights we're not in the best dressed category. My idea of a vacation doesn't include panty hose and pointy shoes so we're usually the brightly colored people (not in flip flops at least) admiring everyone else in their fancy duds.

Has anyone ever taken the hydrofoil from Sorrento to Naples? Our current plan is to take the train from Naples to Pompeii then time permitting continuing on to Sorrento and taking the ferry or hydrofoil back to Naples. I've read where this can be done. I just don't know exactly how to get from the Sorrento train station to the hydrofoil dock. Looks like it's down a big hill. At worst I guess I can head for the sea and try to get my bearings that way.

Why not!!!!!

That would not be Jenn in the blue shirt. I don't think I see her in the photo.

Work sucks tonight....my patient is thrashing about in bed- and has been doing so for the last 5 hours. :sad2: I'm on my dinner break.....

Who ever that is... I met her with Tracy. Sorry I forgot her name. I only met her once and.. It has been almost 2 years since the Repo trip. (She's the one with the little girl)

Nope, that's not her, but it kind of looks like her. The one in the picture was on the Westbound Repo. I think you are thinking of Donna.

Hi Ken (KPROS) sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Our party are made up of me (Gill) husband (Steve) Son (Daniel) and daughter (Ellie).

We only recently booked this cruise and are getting really excited about it. Thanks for the Lanyards - if we're not too late.

We do a lot of travelling and are fortunate that we are so close to Europe that we can get to these exciting cities quite easily and (more importantly) cheaply. We were in Rome in December and fell in love with the place. Can't wait to go back. We have not been to most of the other ports of call so these will be exciting new places to explore.

One recommendation I would make to people, if interested, is to use the 'hop on - hop off' buses you get in most of the big cities around the world. They certainly have them in Barcelona and Rome and if you only have a limited period of time they are ideal to get the most bang for your buck in terms of sights.

Must go - lots of planning to do.

Ken

Sorry for the delay, been busy planning a Girl Scout event. The names in our party are Bill(husband), Andrea(me), Brittani(daughter), and Devon(son). Can't wait. I didn't think it was possible to be more exited about this cruise but being on this site, what you are doing with the lanyards, and Sue with the braclets..."WOW". Thank You!

What are your plans for Rome this time?

Are you doing a DCL excursion or going to take the train ?

Peter

We will be getting the train to Rome and doing our own thing. Rome is a fairly compact city, with a lot of the sites near to each other. From memory it costs $100 (roughly 74 Euros) per person just to get to Rome and then do your own thing, if you took the cruise excursion. We think the return jouney by train will be in the region of 10 Euros each.

When we were last there we never got to see the Cistine Chapel because on the day we set aside to visit, it was closed. The Vatican was an amazing place to visit though and it just gave us more time to explore there. We hope to get to see it this time though.

DISboarders Invade Rome!!

Come join us on a train ride to Rome !! Details to follow once we have a group. For those worried about missing the boat, my plan is that we be back to the ship before sunset. The way if we have any problems, we have some time to work it out.

Possible participants:

Winotracy
Milestogo
Hygiene99
Jeanneg
kpros/spros
sunshine state kim
yensidfan
rufustee
rohjoh

Would you like to join us holidayfanatic or anyone else? Our plan is to take the train in together, but to pretty much go our own ways once we get there and meet up to return.
