May 24, 2014 Alaskan 9 night Wonder

Yes, PAT = Port Arrival Time, but if you are Platinum, which I believe you are, then you don't have to worry about it because you can board whenever you wish. By they way, what do they give to the Platinum folks to show when boarding. We lowely non-Platinum people get a boarding number telling us what group we are in, so I am curious what Platinum people have to show to get thru those Mickey ears.

Aren't the room keys different colors? I'd assume they say what level you are, no? This will be our first return trip so I have no clue but I do remember seeing people with gold key cards on our first trip.

Just got word from my TA that it is Ballantyne pier (I sent her a copy of the email posted). My TA sent me this back:
*******
I just called Disney! They had me on hold to go and find out what is happening. They still had the old information. They are leaving from Ballantyne pier which is one mile from your hotel. (I am at the Pan btw). It is not far. She said you may want to email Mrs Magana to make sure that you have a written email that states the shuttle, but she assured me that if they moved the pier, then yes there will be a shuttle. It is in the same location! So really your hotel services both piers!

We get a boarding group 1 card. :thumbsup2

Ballantyne confirmed with my TA today too! Here's her message:

"After quite a bit of probing, I finally got an answer from DCL. They are still in the process of communicating this change, but it will depart from Ballantyne and return to Canada Place. They said a letter should be coming regarding this. That’s the only information they could provide right now. The two ports are only about 5 minutes from each other apparently."

Hopefully this letter will guarantee some type of shuttle. That'll make me happy again! :) Not that I'm all that unhappy about it now, just annoyed!

I sent the DCL lady an email last night asking about when they would officially notify us because we are still getting conflicting info. I also asked about the shuttle.

Thank you both for defining PAT for me.

Platinum members have a separate line for check-in, and are given a low number (Disney sets the lower numbers aside for this reason). When I did the EBTA last year I wasn't Platinum yet, but my friends I was traveling with are. When we arrived the terminal was full of people and there were very few chairs to sit in. When we checked in were were given a number for the first boarding group, whereas others were being issued numbers in the teens. By the way, Conciege level staterooms are given the same courtesy with a separate line and priority boarding, regardless of their Castaway Club status.

We lucked out and got a No. 2 for our sailing this past Nov. and we were neither Platinum or Concierge.

Ray you forget what it is like to be one of us ;)

OK, we have booked a private excursion in Sitka with Captain Davey Lubin. He can take a total of 6 people and there are 4 adults in our group. We are looking to fill the last two spots. Here's a link to his site:

http://www.puffinsandwhales.com/

and here is a link to his FB page:

https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Esther-G-Sea-Taxi/125059638956

Our tour starts at 7:45 and is 3 hours long. Cost is $150 per person and we are hoping to see whales, bald eagles and puffins. My DH is an avid photographer, so we are aiming for lots of great scenery and exciting wildlife.

Send me a PM if your party of two is interested in joining our tour.

ETA: One thing I failed to mention is that Captain Davey says that the cabin on his boat will accommodate 6 guests in addition to him, and if all parties know one another, then weight and size is not an issue because you all know one another. If the parties don't know one another, then he imposes a 225 lb. per person restriction so that no ones personal space is invaded.

I've heard nothing back btw.... :confused3

:lmao: and they'll be 7 on the boat! Now I'm wishing ours was 3 hours so I could say this, as well as sing the song onboard. :lmao: But then again, we're weird.

Somehow I don't think any of us will look like Mary Ann or Ginger, though.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who was thinking of Gilligan! :cool1:

And everyone is singing now aren't we :rolleyes1 I dare you to wear a red and white checked shirt with your hair in pigtails!

I am just double checking the restaurant names onboard. There is Animator's Palate, Parrot Cay, and Triton's for the main dining right? We should repeat each one 3 times right? Also, we should have a character breakfast, too, right? We aren't doing Palo or anything and I'm not concerned with the buffet. I'm working on making a journal but I cannot figure it all out. :crazy2:

You might also want to do something with the names of all the Quick Service places on the pool deck. You can get those names off the DCL site by selecting the Wonder. I think there is Pinnochio's, and I am not sure what else.

You would think we would do each MDR 3 times, that would be the easiest, but who knows how they will schedule it.

Pluto's Dog House
Pinocchio's Pizzeria
Goofy's Galley

The main dining room names were correct. We should have a character breakfast offered as we've got 3 sea days in our itinerary (4 if they count Tracy Arm). They may do rotations that have us in each MDR 3 times, but I've been on cruises when the rotations didn't seem as logical.

3 times in each dining room sounds logical, but I wouldn't count on a TAPTAPTAP or APTAPTAPT, or PTAPTAPTA rotation. Most likely we will repeat a night or 2. DCL does things their own way that defy logic. JMHO. ;)

I was debating the quick service stuff. I was thinking that may very well be too much journaling haha. I tried this on our 3 nighter and got NO WHERE! I'm hoping I have more time to make notes this time.

Thank you. I saw those a few seconds before you confirmed that for me. I may just do a page on how much ice cream and Mickey Bars we eat bwahaha. Can we get Mickey bars only from room service or do these places have them too do you know?

And yeh, we all know about Disney's logic haha. I wonder if I can find out our rotation a little bit before we sail rather than when we get our room key? Wonder how soon they get that sorted?

Haha yup Disney logic. I really don't mind the order I just hope it is 3/3/3. I would prefer to at least get equal time in each location. The order I don't really care personally. I know people have their preferences, I'm not sure how or why. I'm just happy to be on Mickey's boat :)

What are some reasons people like to pick their rotation? I'm just curious.
