A newbie here. Is this considered a good discount? Is it better than free dining or the stay, play and dine discount? If I was planning on two little mermaid rooms what would be a good plan to maximize savings?

The little mermaid rooms are very seldom discounted, if ever at all. I don't think they are included in this round. As far as which discount is better for you it depends on how many adults are in the party and how you eat, if you do a lot of character meals. For my family we don't do the dining plan, we split meals and our sit down meals are usually breakfast or lunch so the dining plan is not a good value for us.

I'd really like to know why I don't get emails from Disney Visa. I can't find anyplace to change this if it's a setting...

I was just thinking the same thing. I get them about Disney store shopping but never the resort discounts!

They way I figured mine was 25% off the room potion of my package and then I got a little over 10.00 for the extra day ticket per person about 40.00. My travel agent made the call to have the discount applied and it came out to the same as I figured.

I have a package booked but I didn't start researching much until after I booked so I also added travel insurance (didn't know about their own cancelation policy). If I call to add the room discount will they have to cancel and rebook? I know if that happens I lose the travel insurance so I thought I would check.

They shouldn't have to, but mine was being changed from a room only - no package reservation to a package and that's what they had to do.

The CM I had today had no problem applying it to my existing package/reservation.

No problem applying it to an existing reservation. I just did it today.
Just call, give them your reservation info and tell them you want to apply the new discount.

I booked my vacation this morning. Had been waiting for discounts for weeks. After I made reservations, I looked through this thread and someone gave me a tip to call and tell Disney that I had a Disney Visa. I did this and received a discount on my value resort room and received an extra day ticket with hopper. Saved me about $128.00 on trip, but I am going to continue looking for another discount.

Hi, thanks for sharing this info! I called my TA (AAA) and she said I would have to add days to my vacation to get the offer. We are staying at POP 4/22-4/25 and we booked through AAA adding 4 2-day tickets. She said to get the promotion, I would have to add days. Could I cancel getting the tickets through them (getting them through UT) and just book room only and get the discount? Again, my TA didn't seem to want to help out, so before I push her again, I want to make sure! THANKS!!!

Book it yourself. It's super easy ! Or find a new TA. They should be happy to help out. I book %50 of mine and when I'm busy have a fabulous TA do it.

Your welcome! The package deal is nice....but it definitely said you get both for the package...not one OR the other. I notice on here and from my personal experience the first day 50% don't seem to have all the facts so you will get wrong info or even told no discounts available at all.

I was lucky and got one of the nicest CMs I have ever talked to this morning! All I had to say was Disney Visa and she immediately knew what I was calling for. She happily checked a few different resorts and when she was booking my package, she informed me of the extra day included with it. She was great!!

I had a package booked with travel insurance and it was no problem getting the discount.

I used my debit card for the deposit. I can then use any payment method I prefer.. Cash, check or another credit card.

Oh jeez, that is disappointing. I'm going to try to book a room only at POR when the discount comes out to general public on Monday. I was hoping to get 25%.
