MAY 2014 Car Rentals

Just found premium car, 5/23-5/29 for $185 total. Went though Costco site. Just used the special it found for me. Wasn't looking for a premium, but that rate was only a little higher than the Costco rate for midsize through Alamo. I just started looking and the cheapest I found before this was city special through dollar $183 for standard.

Will continue to look for bargain. Please post if you find anything. In the past I have gotten much lower.

Just booked a full size car with Alamo for $122.47 out the door ! Our dates are May 28th through June 3rd with pick up in Tampa airport and drop off at Orlando airport. Go now before the price changes!

I just did the same thing jgraney106. - The flights and cars were crazy in and out of MCO - Booked $109 airfare (vs $176) and got an Emerald Isle eligible car through National for $146 flying into Tampa and returning to MCO.
Dates 5/20-5/28 - used National Emerald Club and coupon NDA2354BU

I didn't use any codes just my insiders card for Alamo. We are flying into Tampa because we will be visiting my mom who lives near Tampa. We also prefer Alamo because there is no extra fee for the second driver if it is a spouse or domestic partner.

Me either. The difference between picking up in Tampa vs MCO is about $200 for me! Oh well, hopefully the rates will go down soon.

Dollar base rate of $10.53 a day for a full size. Total with tax 55.67. No codes or anything . Far cheaper than anything else I found.

On the Alamo website, it was an Insider deal that was shown and I got the rate that way.

On the National website, it was a $25.00 off for a week deal.

Dollar rates dropped a little for my dates (May 10-16 at MCO). They have not gone down to the rate I booked a couple of weeks ago but maybe they are heading in the right direction.

I just checked my dates, and the rates are up to over $43 a day. I must have JUST hit it at the exact right moment . Maybe check back next Wednesday night around 9pm eastern.

Found Dollar mid-size for May 10-16 at $137 using promo code 6CO1M found under Dollar's specials tab.

I'll keep (for now) my current full-size with Dollar that I booked a couple of weeks ago with City Special. It is only $5 more and is less than the full-size price that is coming up right now.

I am officially an idiot. When I first booked my May trip I had a compact booked 5/15-18 for $113. Not bad but I figured I could do better. Last month I saw the price drop to $69.00 so I grabbed it. A week or two ago I'm checking prices & I see it drop to $61.00 so I grab that one & cancel the $69.00 reservation. Yeah that was too good to be true. I had entered the wrong return date! Now when I check today the price is $149.00. Idiot. I should have just waited to cancel the $69.00 rate but I'm always afraid I'll forget & then get charged for it since I use Dollar Express. I'm now paying more then when I originally started. I can only hope the prices drop. Sigh. No one to blame but myself but I'm still not happy about it.

Will be at disney May 15to 24th. We are staying on site but will need a rental for one day. (May19th). There are 6 of us, four adult and two kids so it looks like will have to rent a minivan. Haven't been able to find any reasonable prices :/. Renting two compacts is actually cheaper.... Anyone have any luck? Any discount codes to share?
