Why are the prices so high this year!! Trying to get a full size rental for week of 5/14 - 5/21 and everything is well over $500! Only request is that p/u is in the airport! Can anyone help? Any good coupon codes? Suggestions?

Even though you are in the US you can still book on Expedia.ca since other folks have already done so. You can get a prepaid rate of $136.01 with Dollar or $143.05CAN inc taxes for a full size.

Just an observation on the high prices - those of us going in February fretted about this for months, and then in the last two weeks rates for February have taken a dive. It may just be that the rental companies are holding off on lowering rates more than they have in the past.

Hang tough, and you'll see better rates coming up.

On the April 2012 thread I got info on autoslash.com. Check it out, saved me $70 so far!!!!

I am pretty much limited to reserving with Hertz because I am flying into Lakeland. Got a one way fullsize car to Universal on the day we arrive for 57 dollars. Then when we leave Universal I am renting a fullsize car from the Hertz desk at the hotel for a week for about 264.00. and returning it to Lakeland.
That was with the Hertz Global sale that saved me 20%. I can live with it, but I'm not happy with over 300 bucks for 8 days of a car.
I am hoping very much that it comes down the month before like cigar95 is saying.:goodvibes
