May 2011: The kids are getting 3rd visit surprise! Now w/pics!

I am loving your shirts to cute.

Liam wanted to be Mario for halloween, but some one gave me a free picachu costume so he decided to go as that instead. :thumbsup2 I found he a great t-shirt yesterday at a resale place that says "Do not disturb. Gaming in session" fits him perfectly. He is already wanting to bring his DS and PSP with us on our trip. I have told him only one, and since the DS has more game it will probably be that.:thumbsup2

Congrats on almost being in the teen. I am so excieted.:yay::yay:

Ooooo, I love the new purse... very cute!

I have issues with my hair, too. My hair is thick and has a slight natural wave to it... and it also has a mind of its own. It never looks the same way twice, LOL!

DS had a baby shirt that said "Geek in Training". He had some other ones, too that DH got at ThinkGeek.

That shirt sounds awesome! Glad you got a good find! :thumbsup2 We'll be packing the Plug&Play, as well as the Leapster. DD and I had NDS's, but she broke both of them. :sad2:

Thanks! We're excited too! Well, okay, I am excited. DH doesn't care and the kids don't know!

Thank you! They had two similar color styles, but I liked that one better.

My hair definitely has a mind of its own, too! Some days, it looks amazing! Other days, I spend soo much time on it, and it still looks like poo. :sad2: I have very curly hair, so its rough some days. And straightening it ... takes HOURS! :scared1: I have some curls that just don't like to be straightened.

Funny how we are never happy with our straight or curly hair. My dad has beautiful dark, wavy hair. Grumpy has wavy hair when his hair is longer. But I am stuck with straight. Hoping mom can give me a perm when I'm up north, but she hates perming long hair. I taught her how to piggy back it. She did a great job a few years ago when we went on our cruise. All I had to do was scrunch it!

Lidian, that's great that you can cut hair. It definately doesn't come natural to me!

I can only do simple cuts - nothing fancy. :lmao:

Growing up, I wished for straight hair ... but now that I'm older, I'm thankful I have curly hair - it gives me options. I just wish it would cooperate. :rotfl2:

Thread jacking time!!!!

I found some pics of CSR that I thought I would share with you! Can you believe you will be there in 20 days!!!! :cool1::dance3::banana:

20 Days until you are there!!!!:woohoo::yay::cool1::thumbsup2

This also drives me crazy: I can spend a long time on my hair, blow-drying it straight and using the flatiron... and it will look BLAH. Then, on a different day I can let it air dry and it will look BETTER than when I spent so much time trying to tame it.

What is up with that?!

C'mon TK, you gotta share more than that! :goodvibes

Gorgeous pics and I can't wait to see it in person!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing and if you have more, I'd be game to see them as well!!

See, I can't figure that out either. :sad2: And I also hate that when I go to the salon, I leave with beautiful hair and I can NEVER duplicate it again. :headache: I think stylists are voo-doo witches or something. :lmao: My hair usually looks fine if I use the flat-iron, but only if I blow-dry first (and not use the wet-2-straight iron) But it just takes FOREVER. :sad1:

So ... I've been looking at our plans and made some changes. I can do that, right? :confused3

I hereby bring out new stone tablets to etch these plans into!

May 22 - 29
Sunday: Arrival day; head to MK after dinner
Monday: DHS (no change)
Tuesday: FREE DAY! Sleep in, hit the pool, peruse DTD
Wednesday: MK day (not sure if WoW friends will join us - long story)
Thursday: EP day (not sure if WoW friends will join us)
Friday: AK day
Saturday: Still undecided. May do EP again; may do a WP; may lounge around hotel/DTD
Sunday: Head home :sad1:

So really, Tuesday is the only change, and Friday got finalized. :thumbsup2 DH whines that he works harder at WDW than at his job, and I know I'd love two days at AK, but if him having some down time will perk him up, then I say let's do it. Plus, as stressed as I am right now, I could use some good lounging, and this will give me time to explore the resort more and get to DTD.

Now that I'm thinking about it ... I may see if I can change my WGP and Maya ADRs around. :scratchin

I also asked DH how we plan to surprise the kids. He says just tell them we're going to an Amish Farm. :confused3 I did point out that DD can read state signs, and will pick up that we're in FL and immediately it will trigger WDW. He thinks she'll sleep until we hit FL (maybe, maybe not - she didn't last time).

I guess we'll figure out exactly the "how" later.

Tomorrow, I'm going back to the salon. My hair is actually uneven ... the left side is longer than the right. :sad2: I'm also going to have them touch up my highlights while I'm there. It's with a different stylist, and I've heard good things about her.

Today, I was talking to DH on the phone. I mentioned the "zoo" (code for AK) and immediatly DS says, "I wanna go to Disney!" Now I'm wondering if he's starting to pick up on the codes... or if sister has said something to him. I told him that we'd go to the zoo instead of Disney, and he seemed to be okay with that. :lmao: Who knows.

And for the record, the whole house (except the devil cat) is fine. Today anyway. I'm under the weather, but that's because some friends have hurt my feelings. It's petty, and I really shouldn't be upset, but I am. I will get over it. I'm not mad at my friends (disappointed, but not mad). The gallon of Starbucks ice cream helped. :lmao: I'm sure I'll be over it by tomorrow. (I get my feelings hurt very easily, but I move on after I take some "sulk-time".)

Plus, my new favorite TV show will be on tonight. :woohoo:

Anyway, I guess that's all for now. I think. :goodvibes

Sorry about your haircut, hope you get it all fixed today. Now you have me nervous, I am going to go in the next week or so to get mine cut before our trip:scared1:

Love the clothes, I'm going to have to look in Walmart this week when I go for groceries, I have seen anything Incredibles in a while and my boys would love that tee, I always love the Lady and the Tramp one you got for yourself.

We have no set plans for Sunday yet. I hate going out to dinner on Mother's Day, the restaurants are always so crowded so I'll probably just have DH grill out and maybe we'll get some crabs from the seafood place up the street!

I think it is very wise to have a "free day" so DH can have a little down time. ;) No such luck for me, though. :lmao: The Drill Sargeant will be on a mission and he said we can rest the week after at the beach.
So what is the story with Wow folks? Are they ones that hurt your feelings?

I am sorry that stylist really did a number on your hair yesterday. Will the colorist be able to trim it or does she does only do color? Will you have to go back to the Miss Edwarda Scissorhands?...:rotfl2: Keep us posted on your hair. I would love to see a pic....hint hint.

So do you think DD told DS? Do you think they know? Is there anywhere in Florida that you can tell them you are going without it being WDW, maybe a family reunion or something?

So sorry you are feeling down today! Ice-cream ALWAYS helps!!! :thumbsup2

Which TV show is coming on tonight that is your favorite?

I have been cleaning like a mad woman. I really need to update my PTR and know it will be very time consuming since I still cannot find my mouse. I know I need to just purchase a new one. :headache:
So keep your eyes peeled for it later this evening. Now need to get back to folding the neverending :laundy:. DD will be home in about 5 min. and we have to do homework, too.

Don't be nervous! I'm sure she was too focused on chatting with a fellow high schooler than she was on my hair. Plus, its hair. It'll grow back. :thumbsup2

The Incredibles shirt I found was actually in a 3 pack of boy's Tees (like under tees). It had Incredibles, Cars, and Buzz in the 3 pack I found.

I hate going out as well. In the past, we usually did a late lunch / early dinner so there was little to no wait. Grilling out sounds like a wonderful Mother's Day!! :cloud9:

I have made it official now, and he's happy. He didn't seem happy at first, and I told him that I could make it a full park day - but he was all NUUU! :lmao: He wanted to know exactly what as on the agenda, and I replied "sleep in, swimming at the pool, going to DTD". He was game. :thumbsup2

Some WoW friends did hurt my feelings, but it was not the ones that we'll be meeting. (They're actually in Vegas this week.) They are a part of it, but they weren't the ones who "ganged up" on me last night and made me cry. It's a long story, so I won't bore anyone. I've gone through hurt, anger, and back and forth the past 24 hours. But I will eat my ice cream and just wait for stuff to fall back into place. :thumbsup2

The colorist will be able to trim it up if she thinks its uneven, too. I'll have her look it over and see what she thinks in the morning. The last time they did the highlights, it took it a few days to "settle", so we'll have to see with a pic. lol I washed and dried it tonight and it doesn't look horrible - but its really not what I asked for. I was trying to grow my hair out, and my shortest layer was almost to my chin. Now my shortest layer falls a little past the eyebrow. :sad2:

I'm not sure if DD told DS or not. I'm not so sure she really KNOWS. She may "think", but I think if she "knew", she'd have said something. And DS doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut, so he would have been "Sister said we're going to Disney!!" (Yes, they call each other Brother / Sister, not by their names.)

I don't know of anything we can tell them ... but I'm sure we'll come up with something. If we don't come up with something, she'll figure it out once she knows we're in FL. I really wish Benedryl knocked her out, otherwise I'd give her a dose so she'd sleep. :lmao: (Yes, I am joking - but Benedryl really doesn't knock her out. Her pediatrician has prescribed her to take Benedryl as a sleep aid once - but it didn't work. :confused3)

I'm looking forward to The Voice tonight. Saw it last week and it looks soo awesome! So I can't wait for this week's episode to see the teams! :cheer2:

G'luck with the laundry! Wanna do mine, too? :rotfl2:

Do you think the postman will deliver one if I threw one in the mail marked "Please deliver to my DIS friend TK"? :confused3 Let's just go shopping tomorrow after my hair appointment, okay?

How did they gang up on you while playing a game? :rotfl2: Was it a fighting game?
That is what I do....I stuff it down with ice-cream or cookies, maybe even chocolate. That always does the trick. :thumbsup2 I sorry to hear that they were being so mean.

Maybe the colorist will do her magic and get it like you like it. :wizard: I doubt that she can get your layers longer, though. Sorry to hear that the other one cut them so short. Layers as short as your eyebrows will definitely be hard to put in a pony tail. I hope you end up falling in  with it when you get used to it and maybe the colorist can do some magic of her own.

My DS is the same way. He cannot keep a secret to save his life. We all call DS - "brother" or "bro." Kay's friends look at me like I have 2 heads when I call him that in front of them. :lmao: I also call DH "Dad". I am sure people overhear me saying that and think that lady is way to old for him to be her dad. :rotfl2:

I don't know of anything we can tell them ... but I'm sure we'll come up with something. If we don't come up with something, she'll figure it out once she knows we're in FL. Yep, benedryl doesn't work on my kids either. DS takes it sometimes when his eyes swell up in the Spring. It doesn't phase him.

Laundry check!!! Send yours on over.

Sign me up for shopping. Sounds like fun and you can help me pick out a mouse with beeping locator on it or a zapper when the kiddos try to hide it from me. :lmao:

GOOD LUCK :goodvibes on your hair appt. tomorrow.
Cannot wait to hear how it goes!

Ok...lots of responses to different things...;)

Its 100% okay to change plans! Its actually a nasty habit of mine. It annoys the crap outta DH...so he stops trying after awhile and just lets me be - knowing that if I'm complaining about a day, or struggling to fit in a certain ADR, that I'll eventually figure it out. :surfweb: What life...I'm too busy looking at my excel sheet. :lmao: Our plans are kinda final. We still have no water parks or DisneyQuest on the list, so we'll play that by ear. When it comes down to that, plans are just that, plans. They'll change faster than you can say, "Good morning" some days, and you'll stick to them exactly others. :rotfl:

Sorry about the hair fiasco. My hair is the longest its been for about 8 years...and it take FOREVER to do. Its straight with a slight wave - which means if I air dry, I get this ugly bend. Which means, drying it every day, so that should be super fun in Disney...I am NOT a morning person...:headache: Hope the appointment tomorrow goes much better!

And sorry about friends too. Especially since its so petty - that almost makes it worse than if it was something legit or whatever! Hope you can reconcile. I honestly can't imagine being mean to you! :flower3:

Oooh, and the Voice looks so awesome. I have it recorded, so perhaps I should take the time to watch! :happytv:

Sharing some of my pics of CSR too. Hope this adds to your excitement to visit! Don't forget to ask if they have a microwave available for your stay. It was a godsend to us in the morning for a quick breakfast before heading out.

Cannot wait to hear how it goes!

I was kind of shocked that DH didn't demand a "free day", and then seemed taken aback when I offered one. :scared1: I'm beginning to wonder if Disney is rubbing off on him. Last year, he begged for no character meals, but when I brought up trying one this year, he was game (so long as it wasn't princesses - I think he feels uncomfortable around all the pretty girls :lmao:). I did try for a CP ADR, but booked solid both days I tried. :sad2: I'll keep trying though, in case something opens up.

It's a long story ... but to sum it up, my assistant questioned my leadership skills (I run the guild and I run two raid teams) and hurt my feelings. But that's life. You win some, you lose some, but you eat ice cream and move on. ;)

My hair wasn't long enough for a good ponytail anyway, but at least I could pull the front up into a barret. Now its too short, as the strands around my face (at the forehead) won't reach back to my crown - where i put the barret. I guess I could move the barret forward. The colorist did an amazing job with my hair! I love  it! She commented on the cut, and asked who did it (I whispered the name, since the girl was there), and asked if it was bad. She said she could see a few issues, but that's only because she's looking for them now - but she never had to pull out the scissors. She checked the length, and it was even on both sides (which made me feel better and dumb at the same time). It must have been the way the hair was laying Monday that made it look like one side was longer than the other!

I call DS and DD brother and sister as well, and DH dad. "Well go ask Dad." Or, "Hey Dad? Can you go grab a tissue?" The only issue we ever really had was when I was taking care of my neice. She thinks her cousins are named brother and sister (and she calls them brother/sister) and she calls DH dad (which, honestly, he's the closest thing she has to a dad).

So DH just walked in, and asked what I did today. :sad2: He has yet to say anything about my hair. He just said "I don't notice anything in this light." Guess who is sleeping on the couch tonight. :lmao::rotfl2: And yes, I spoke out loud as I typed, so he had a good chuckle, too.

Watching The Voice right now (since I DVR everything and FF through commercials - except Disney ones, I always stop for Disney ones). Still loving it! :thumbsup2 Laundry is on its way over. Shall we go shopping after we pick up the kids? I'd be happy to help you pick out a new mouse! I could get you a Naga one - IIRC, it has like 24 buttons, and might even wash your dishes. (DH tried to talk me into getting it - it was INSANE!!!)

Definitely watch The Voice! I am in love  with it!

We usually make plans and stick to them - with little to no wiggle room. We keep it flexible while touring, but rarely deviate from the "planned day".

My hair used to be halfway down my back, and it is SUPER thick, so it would take me over 2 hours to dry/straighten my hair. Plus, it was so heavy, I kept headaches. It's shorter now, but I like it around shoulder length (well, slightly past). It almost touches my shoulders now, but she did an amazing job today, and I am in love with it! Plus, she kept asking "is this okay? BE HONEST NOW!!!" And she stated a million times that if I don't like something about it to come back and she'll get it fixed for me! I may have found my new stylist! :lovestruc

Thank you for the kind words! I am hoping to get things reconciled soon, as I'm pretty much over it. I just need to get with the person who upset me and work things out with him. Once he will reply back to my text messages (yes, we're friends in game and we do text outside of game), then things should be right as rain. I hope anyway!

I think that I'll shower at night and straighten my hair so all I will have to do in the AM is touch up hair, wash my face, and then get kids ready. G'luck with tending to your hair! Hope you can get plenty of rest!!

Sharing some of my pics of CSR too. Hope this adds to your excitement to visit! Don't forget to ask if they have a microwave available for your stay. It was a godsend to us in the morning for a quick breakfast before heading out.

OMG, thank you for sharing! I love looking at pics! I am super excited! I'M IN THE TEENS!!!! :cheer2:

I won't ask for a microwave, as we won't use one in the room. We'll bring cereal bars and poptarts (etc) for breakfast, so no point in hogging one if I won't use it and someone else can. :thumbsup2 But it is totally awesome that they are available for those who do need them! I am totally looking forward to our free day so I can explore the resort more and hopefully take fabulous photos!

Hugs to all of you! :grouphug:

:rolleyes1
I'll confess.... We go to WDW for me, but I'm nice enough to take my kids along. :lmao: I tell everyone "we're taking the kids", but that's just so they don't look at me funny.

THIS IS ME TOO- SHHHH!:rotfl:

And yes, having kids while standing in line for M&Gs does make me feel less self-concious. :rotfl2:

I'm really hoping you get to meet regular Mickey! All I've met so far is Chef Mickey and Chef Goofy (he's still on my list of meets - regular Goofy). We saw them at the Character Spot in Epcot in 2009, but the line was stupid long, so we didn't bother. :sad2:

I met regular mickey, but want to meet regular goofy

:welcome:

That is awesome that you were surprised with a DLP trip!! I still, honestly, don't know how or what we're going to do to surprise the kids. I need to sit down with DH and talk about it ... but hoping to get it on video!

The kids don't believe me when I tell them "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down" ... but then again, most medicines nowadays aren't as icky tasting as they were when we were growing up.

There are two movies my mom will never watch again because I burnt her out on them as a kid ... one was Mary Poppins (the other was non-Disney). My kids have seen both movies, and they prefer the non-Disney one as its animated.

this movie played daily at my house, along with Chitty Chitty Bang BAng

I hope Kay feels better soon! And I hope the other girls don't catch it!

I'm at 20 days!! We'll hit the Teens tomorrow!! :woohoo::woohoo:

I have NOT started packing yet ... but hoping to work on it some this week. DS needed a new suitcase, so I did get it purchased today. :thumbsup2

WOOHOO! :woohoo: 3 weeks and we're kickin' it with the Mouse!

I could tell when you were writing that post that you were kinda down about having to write your last day there. :sad1::hug:

But just think ... in less than 3 weeks, we'll be living it up! (And praying it never ends! :thumbsup2)

I'm looking forward to the new M&G at MK! I'm soo happy for weeks! :woohoo:

Have you heard anything new about this? last i read the fp was tied to the regular system but giving 1 hour waits?

That's awesome! I've seen regular Mickey, but haven't met him yet.

i was way behind so these comments are really random-
i'm glad that everyone is feeling better!
When you said new favorite show, i knew it was goign to be the voice! i like it so far too. Although i'm thinking that they may cover both the "mentoring" and the battle round next week, all in one hour. seems like a lot to fit in in that time frame. but then again, i wont be home to watch it :rolleyes1 so why am i complaining :) I missed a lot of last weeks too because of severe weather coverage so i'm not even truly sure who is on the teams.
we say bubba and sissy here a lot.

:rolleyes1

We watched a lot of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as well, but I really don't remember the movie. :confused3 I just remember the title.

Yes, I heard the Mickey M&G was tied to the regular FP system. But I also heard that the average wait was less than 20 minutes for standby anyway. We might just do standby for Mickey.

I'm still trying to watch Auditions Part 2. :lmao: I keep having to pause for various reasons. When it was time to get DS, we decided to hit Walmart and pick up some shorts. So everyone now has clothes for the trip! :cheer2: Well, I guess I better see if I need anything. :headache:

Sorry that you missed the first part. It was really awesome to see them pick. Some of them, I didn't think performed well (and got picked) and then vice versa. :sad2: These judges are really funny though. :thumbsup2 Hopefully you can check out what you missed online somewhere. I'm excited to see exactly how they're going to do the rest of the show.

Sorry, my thoughts are scattered right now. We tried to find shoes for DH, but he had no luck. And I'm going to cut DD's hair tonight. Wish me luck! I haven't cut her hair in years!!

Ready for another round? This one is about Mickey Ear Hats. :thumbsup2

Which of the following Mickey Ear Hats have we purchased over the years?

A) Pirate Princess
B) Princess
C) Red Pants
D) All of the above
E) None of the above

Do you (or kids) have any Mickey Ears? Which one(s) do you have? Did you get them personalized?

I, personally, do not have any Mickey ears. :sad1: I spent all of 2009 searching for the PERFECT pair. I never found them. I glanced around in 2010, but never saw them either. I want a pair that yells my name. The whole room just stops when I turn to them. A light shines from the heavens above and choir music can be heard in the background.

...

Oh, sorry. Got a bit caught up in my daydream. :lmao: No, seriously, I haven't found MY Mickey Ears yet. Perhaps 2011 is the year. :goodvibes

I am going to guess A.

Anakin has personalized Mickey ears. He got his first pair with his baby's first cut at the Harmony Barber shop on Main St, with free monograming. We bought him the traditional black ears a couple months ago when he outgrew his other ears. This time we had to pay $7 for the name embroidered.

We all have dream ears. We had stopped to look at the birds at the Animal Kingdom. On our way out of the display a CM was there with dream ears, because we were at the right spot at the right time!
