May 2011: The kids are getting 3rd visit surprise! Now w/pics!

Before my iPhone, I had a cellphone charm on my Rant. What was depicted on my cellphone charm (purchased at the Disney store at DTD)?

A. Cinderella
B. Cinderella's Castle
C. Snow White
D. The Evil Queen (from Snow White)
E. Eeyore
F. Lightning McQueen

Do you have any Disney charms, wallpapers, etc on your phone? If so, what are they and why?

Today has been busy. Both kids had Easter parties and Egg Hunts at school today. I was only able to attend DS's - his teacher needed mommies more than DD's. Several.... issues came up, and I truly felt bad for DS's teacher.

Anyway, they made bunny rabbit cupcakes, a foam (flat) egg with their picture on it, an egg wreath, and chick footprints. They also made other crafts throughout the week, but I was on picture egg and chick footprint duty. Then they hunted for eggs and had a party (cupcakes, chips, egg gummies, and kool-aid).

While I was helping DS's teacher, my TA called. I HAVE MICKEY MAIL! She said my Disney documents were in and ready to be picked up. She also said that the odds of us finding a hotel on the beach (with what DH wants) is slim to none. So now I'm a bit aggravated at DH because he won't tell me what beach(es) so I can have the TA get us a room booked. I'm going to be really mad if we have to drive to the beach instead of sit on a balcony and enjoy it.

He's the one that really wants the beach, so I don't know why he's dragging his feet on this. :confused3 Now I'm afraid he's just going to change his mind and make us drive back to TN on the 27th.

Tonight, we have our Spring Carnival. I'll be working the Moonwalk bounce for a bit tonight, then I'll have plenty of time to spend with the kids afterwards. I always try to give some of my time for the school, but I make sure I have time to spare for the kids. I was sad I didn't get to see DD's activities today, but I can't be in two places at once. :sad2:

Still no word on the job front. Last I heard, they hadn't filled the position or called anyone in for 2nd interviews and the Division President had been in/out of the office the past few weeks making scheduling difficult. I haven't given up hope, but I have given up wondering and worrying.

I'll try to post pictures later of the activities. :thumbsup2

I'm going to guess A. Cinderella for the trivia question

:banana:For Mickey Mail! We got ours today too! I was trying to hide it from the kids but Sam spied, I quickly covered, saying it was about our trip but I still wasn't sure when we were going!

It is really tough having 2 kids with school events at the same time, with my oldest I was able to do everything with him because he was the only one for so long but with my middle 2 I am finding it alot harder. The activities sound cute, I have a few crafts for the kids to do on Saturday for Easter after our egg hunt. Can't wait to see the pics!

Congrats on the Mickey Mail. I can't wait to get mine.

As for the trivia, I am going to say: D. The Evil Queen (from Snow White) you seem to have a little evil streak in you.

I have resently bought to key chains (do those count) one has the fab 5 and daisy on it, and the other has a heart with blue cystals, a slipper, and a carriage (for Cinderella).

Congratulations on the Mickey mail.

I am going with Eeyore (E).

What beach (sorry if you mentioned it earlier...I can't keep up with remembering what everyone has posted in their PTR/TR's)?

I am going to go with Cinderella's Castle on your phone. The reason that I pick this is because we are "bizzaro twins" on a lot of other stuff and I do have a pic of Cinderella's Castle w/family in front as my FB profile. :lmao:
It sounds like DS had a great party with lots of crafts. What kind of stuff kept cropping up for his teacher? It is so hard when you have 2 kids to try to do something with both of them. DD has two fieldtrips in May and DS goes to preschool for 2.5 hours every weekday. It makes it so hard for me to do anything when I have to stop mid morning and run and get him from school. I could have pulled him out one of the days to attend DD's fieldtrip, but we are already pulling him out 1 week early for our WDW trip. :sad2: So I have to miss her fieldtrips this year.
You know me, I would REALLY love to see your pics of recent activities. I cannot get enough pictures. :cool1:

As for me, I have Winnie the Pooh on my phone.

Look forward to seeing if I was right with this trivia and seeing your pics. popcorn:: :thumbsup2

It broke my heart when DD asked if I would come and volunteer in her class ... but DS's teacher needed me more. I know that DD's teacher got plenty of pictures, so I'll at least get to see pictures of their stuff.

Congrats on the Mickey Mail. I can't wait to get mine.

Evil Queen and evil streak, huh? :sad1:
:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I really need to get a new keychain. My problem with shopping is I can't decide what I want! "I want it all" is not an option sometimes. :rotfl: But your keychains sound really nice!

Congratulations on the Mickey mail.

I am going with Eeyore (E).

What beach (sorry if you mentioned it earlier...I can't keep up with remembering what everyone has posted in their PTR/TR's)?

DH hasn't picked a beach. There's a good chance we'll go back to Ormond Beach, but he did finally give me more info for out TA. She's supposed to be looking for smaller beaches on either side of FL (we won't travel South though). Since he's dragged his feet, we'll probably just have to wait and see what hotel is available at this point. :sad2:

I am going to go with Cinderella's Castle on your phone. The reason that I pick this is because we are "bizzaro twins" on a lot of other stuff and I do have a pic of Cinderella's Castle w/family in front as my FB profile. :lmao:

I have a Disney picture on my FB profile as well ... but its one that DH snapped of us while we were waiting in line to see Lightning and Mater in 2009. Thankfully, you can't really tell how sick I am in it. :lmao::rotfl2:

I can't believe Jay only goes to PK for 2.5 hours! Seth goes from 8:20-2:00 everyday. Could your sister or someone take/pick-up Jay from school on the fieldtrip days?

What fieldtrips does Kay have coming up? I was VERY upset that I wasn't allowed to attend any of DD's fieldtrips this year. They didn't take a single one last year, and did 3 this year. Each time, the teacher came to me and asked if I'd come help, and then each time he'd come back and say that the other teachers didn't want ANY mommies on the trip. :sad2:

Totally loving everyone's guesses! I think tonight we'll go to the Drive In and see HOP. I don't remember what's playing afterwards (it's always 2 movies), but I really just want to see HOP. I think $7 per adult and $5 for child is pretty nice for two movies!!!!! I don't think I can see a matinee for that price. :lmao:

We had a blast at the carnival last night. I worked the Moonwalk, and DH took the kids around for a bit. It turned out, they wanted to do the rock climb so they actually stood in line for nearly 30 minutes. :sad2: DD did the climb, but she didn't make it to the top. I missed it, because DS wanted to go play games. They both tried to dunk a teacher - DD wasn't lucky, but DS did dunk the teacher. (It was one of the 2nd grade teachers - not sure what her name is.) After they finished, DD's teacher got in the tank, but the line immediately grew and would be nearly a 40 min wait to dunk him. He at least made it fun for everyone - he'd pick on the throwers and tease and taunt. The other teacher just sat there. She's cheer if she got dunked, but that was it. DD's teacher had a blast with it though. "There's no way he can dunk me! Make him stand at the first line and he'll still miss!" It was great to watch.

Both kids got their faces painted. I was a bit sad that they didn't have actual artists doing faces. DD wanted a puppy ... it may have tried to be a puppy ... but who knows. :lmao: DS was a bit easier, he told her he wanted a BIG scary monster with a mean face and scary teeth. (His words.) DH pointed out that it looked like something from one of the many games he plays, and the "rtist"knew what he was talking about and called the creature by name. So he was impressed with her. They had two booths with REAL face painters, but it was about $10+. We weren't spending that kind of money on face painting at a school carnival. Granted, they were SUPER awesome artists, so it was really a good deal ... but we still went with the $1 face paints. :lmao:

A. Cinderella

C. Snow White
D. The Evil Queen (from Snow White)

E. Eeyore
F. Lightning McQueen

Do you have any Disney charms, wallpapers, etc on your phone? If so, what are they and why?

The correct answers are C and D. It was two-sided and had Snow White on one, and The Evil Queen on the other. :lmao: How's that for a trick question? :stir:

TK, you get half a point, because I do have a 2nd charm of Cindy's castle. I never put it on my phone, its actually still in the package. My iPhone doesn't have a place to equip a charm, otherwise, it would actually have Cindy's castle. :p

I bought both charms at the same time, and couldn't decide which one to use ... but the Snow White/Evil Queen one seemed to fit my Rant better (theme-wise) than Cindy's castle.

OFF TOPIC!!!
Anyway, here's some pictures of the Egg hunt and activities, as well as the Spring Carnival. I also have some pics of the Easter Baskets that the kids will discover in the morning.

Sorry for being pic heavy ... this is not normal for me.

OH! Before we begin ... MICKEY MAIL! I went by the TA's office to pick up my MM and this is what I walked away with:
MiscellaneousApril048.jpg

My Disney documents (vouchers for the room and other incentives), luggage tags, Florida Tour Book (that sucker is THICK!), a TripTick, Maps for: Southeastern States, Orlando FL Vicinity, and Orlando FL CitiMap, and print outs with Park Hours and Refurbs. The TA kind of laughed that she included those, as I have educated her on a lot of Disney stuff - and she knew I was already aware, but I have to confess, I am loving this TA. She has gone above and beyond what I expect from a TA. The last time I used a TA, I was very disappointed and really regretted it. So I didn't use one last year. But as long as I can keep this TA, I'll use her for everything!!!

Anyway .. back to the Off Topic at hand.

Easter Crafts that DS made (I did "remove" his school name, so the black box actually had the name of his school):
MiscellaneousApril2001.jpg

Actually, the large chalk egg was the only craft DD brought home. The rest are DS's.

At school, they made Bunny cupcakes:

Then they hunted for eggs:
MiscellaneousApril027-1.jpg

MiscellaneousApril030.jpg

MiscellaneousApril032.jpg

MiscellaneousApril034.jpg

They had to find eggs with numbers 1-10 on them and mark them off their check list. (If they already found a 3, they had to put it back.)

DS made a new friend:
MiscellaneousApril036.jpg

We went to the Spring Carnival where DD tried to climb the rock mountain:

MiscellaneousApril039.jpg

They got their faces painted. DD wanted a puppy and DS asked for a BIG SCARY MEAN MONSTER WITH SCARY TEETH. So that's what he got.

Here's the Easter Baskets:

DD's Easter Basket: Chocolate Bunny, AirHeads, P&F fun dips, Hershey bunnies, Cadbury Creme Eggs, Wonka filled egg, Snow White socks, Princess and Tangled sticker activity book, Princess pencils, crayons

DS's Easter Basket: Chocolate Bunny, AirHeads, P&F fun dips, Hershey bunnies, Cadbury Creme Eggs, Wonka Filled egg, Woody socks, Mickey and TS3 sticker activity book, TS3 puzzle, crayons

We went and saw HOP at the drive-in last night. It was very adorable. I had a tummy ache, so I spent more time watching the clock than anything. Today, we've been cleaning ... allllll day. We focused on DD's room mostly. Her room is nice and tidy. Monday, while she's at school, I'm going to scrub the floors and walls, and do some touch-up painting. Hopefully I can do the same to DS's room - if not, I'll do his room on Tuesday.

We went out for ice cream this evening, and I asked DH if he knew what we'd be doing this time next month. He nodded and then it took me a few minutes to remember what park we'd be at. DHS! We also talked about meeting up with our WoW friends a bit.

Anyway, that's it for now. Sorry its long. New trivia coming up soon!

Awwww! I :lovestruc:love::lovestruc all the pictures! You are so computer saavy to know how to block out people's faces! I don't know how to do that, either. :confused3 We are getting ready to go to my sister's house for an Easter Egg Hunt and then brunch. I will add my Easter pic when I get back and send you a more detailed reply. Yes, that is right, I only have one pic of the kiddos with their baskets.
HAPPY EASTER to you and your family!!!!:cool1:

Thank you for the kind words! And, no, that's just putting the picture into Paint and then drawing. :lmao: We have some really... unique moms at DS's school, so I figured it would be better to block out faces. ;)

HAPPY EASTER to you guys! I'm heading over to your PTR to comment. :teeth:

Love the pictures.

Happy Easter.

Thank you!!! HAPPY EASTER! Keep us posted on poor little Cookie!

I have had a hard time deciding on another trivia challenge. I think I'll make this one about my charming DH. :thumbsup2

What is DH's favorite attraction at Disneyworld?

A. Indiana Jones Stunt Specatcular
B. Tower of Terror
C. Muppet Vision 3D
D. Kilimanjaro Safaris
E. Hall of Presidents
F. Monsters Inc, Laugh Floor

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

What is the one attraction your family can't miss at each of the parks?

MK: Monsters Inc, Laugh Floor (hoping to hit it twice this year!)
EP: The British Invasion
DHS: Toy Story Mania
AK: Kilimanjaro Safaris

So I was looking through the information my TA gave me ... and I was shocked to see new hours and added shows. I had just recently checked if there was new hours for any of our days - there wasn't. The TA even joked about how she was sure she wasn't giving me anything new ... but she did! I thought maybe it was wrong, so I verified.

So ... there's good news ... Most days had new hours. But that's also bad ... makes me think the crowds are going to be much higher than I anticipated. So now I'm really in panic mode. Fantasmic! is showing EVERY DAY! TWICE! It was originally only showing Tuesday and Thursday.

We're hitting DHS on Monday - original hours was 9-7 (EMH 7-10). New hours are 9-10 (EMH 10-1) with F! showing at 9 and 10:30. So the good news is that we may get to watch F!, but now I'm really worried about crowds! I had planned to be out of DHS around 8pm that night and in bed by 9:30. Now it looks like we'll be staying for F!, but I'm stressing over crowds.

I've talked it out with DH, and since they did not add MSEP to the day we visit MK, we're going to add another day and hit MK after our dinner reservations. I told him that once we arrive, he should go take a nap and I'll take the kids to the pool. He can just sleep until we need to leave for DTD - we'll wake him up as we come in to get ready. That should suffice him enough to get us to MK for a few hours. All I really want to see is MSEP, but while we're there, we will hit up a few attractions with lower wait times. I can pass up seeing Wishes this year - and we can always see it on our original MK day anyway.

Has anyone had any issues with the extending hours equalling increased crowds? TP hasn't changed their numbers for those days, but they have updated their site to include the extra hours and shows.

I guess I will go with Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular.:confused3 I really need to go back and reread. Not sure if that would be fair.....am I just supposed to remember? You know I have memory problems, right? Oh well! I am going with A.

The attractions we cannot miss:
PotC - MK
Soarin' -EP
ToT - DHS
Dinosaur - AK

Hope you all had a blessed Easter!

I'm going to go with the Indiana Jones stunt show for the trivia answer.

MK -BTMR
Epcot - Soarin' or Test Track (too hard to choose!)
HS - Toy Story Mania
AK - Kilimanjaro Safaris

Yay for the mickey mail!!! I can't wait to get ours!! Love the Easter baskets too! :)

Thank you! Yours should be coming soon!! Can't wait for you to get yours! :cool1:

Guessing, eh? :rotfl:

I never stated you couldn't read my boring PTR over and over in case the answer has been mentioned. I had to ask DH last night, just to be sure I was correct. Then he was all "WHY?" So I explained I was doing trivia. "That's dumb." Yeah, yeah. Go back to Portal 2. :p

On the plus side! I mentioned making us Mickey Head tye-dye tees and he agreed to wear one at Disney, if the colors were okay. I told him he could pick his own colors. He said that if I wanted to make some non-MH ones, he'd even wear them to work. Well, okay! Then he told me that its because he likes to wear the ugliest shirts he can on Fridays. :confused3 He's real confident in my tye-dye abilities, you see. :lmao::rotfl2:

I have never ridden Dinosaur. I think I'm too scared to. :scared1: Maybe I'll brave it this year ... but only if the kids will ride, too!

Hope you all had a blessed Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter! I hope you had a super one, too!

I agree that EP was a hard one to choose, so I went with a show. :lmao:

And now I'm sad to announce, that we won't get to see British Invasion in May. :sad1: They did not renew their contract and Disney will be bringing in another act. Hopefully it will be entertaining. Change can sometimes be good. :thumbsup2

Boo! I've never seen them and was hoping to in September! Bummer. :(

For your husband, I'm going with Tower of Terror.

Believe it or not, we never saw the British Invasion (could be the fact that I have never been a fan of the Beatles...yes, I know, I'm odd).

Favorites at each park:

MK -- Tie: Pirates and Haunted Mansion
Epcot -- Soarin'
DHS -- Tower of Terror
Animal Kingdom -- Safari

Boo! I've never seen them and was hoping to in September! Bummer. :(

I would offer to email you my video of TBI, but you can't see anything because I was too busy dancing to film it properly. :lmao:

I'm a huge Beatles fan, as well as other UK bands from that era. It's actually what we listen to in the car on the drive to/from WDW. We have all sorts of "oldies but goodies" CDs. Even DH, who is a rock fan, will sing along to some Monkees.

My dad was surprised when he found out I was a Beatles fan. He said my generation was too young to enjoy that sort of thing, and then loaned me all his CDs. :rotfl2: Every year, I go to the UK and buy him a souveniour (Beatles, of course!). I was disappointed in the lack of Beatles songs they performed ... but I did know all the songs they played. :thumbsup2

Hopefully they'll bring in a new band by the time you get there (hopefully by the time I get there!).

Kat, its okay to be odd. The odder the better in my book! :thumbsup2

I think you nailed my DD's favorites! I'd ask, but I try not to bring up Disney, because its usally followed by "Why can't we go this year?" :headache:

I'm hoping for those commercials that brings tears to my eyes when they find out! Fingers are crossed! Now I just have to remember to have the camera ready and rolling in time. :rotfl2:

Another thing in common! I think you may be my DH's long lost sister, though.... You are super techie and LOVES Beatles just like my hubs. (he likes Monkees, too but he LOVES the Beatles) We even went to a Beatles Convention in Chicago before. He wants to go again and take the kiddos this time. DH is getting Jay into it, too. DS has two Beatles shirts and can always pick out a Beatles song. I am sure we will be listening to our share of Beatles on our trip down to WDW. I am sad to hear TBI is not going to be playing in Disney anymore. We have video and pics from our 2007 trip. Mike was on :cloud9: :rotfl: I hope his heart is not broken when I tell him the news. :sad2:

:lmao:

I've never been to any conventions or concerts (cover bands) or anything, as I'm not that big of a fan ... but I will wear my "I (heart) the Beatles" shirt proudly. Plus, I never hear about anything like that. ;)

The kids enjoy the music ... and Seth danced last year at TBI.

I'm hoping to borrow Dad's SUV again ... as it has the disc changer, so we just load it up and hit shuffle and enjoy! If we take my car, I'll have to go borrow dad's CDs.
