May 2011: The kids are getting 3rd visit surprise! Now w/pics!

See at the spa near my house they serve you champagne or wine while your getting your feet done so I can knock out 2 birds with one stone, lol. I am super ticklished on my feet too but something happens when I get a pedicure that it doesn't bother me. Still crossing fingers and toes for you about the job :)

We don't have any good spas nearby. We have salons and we have nail places. That's as close as we can get to a spa without driving up to Knoxville. We did have a decent salon-spa, but they closed down. DH gave me a certificate for a massage, facial, and mani-pedi there one year for Mom's Day. It was ... okay. No beverages were even offered, let alone, of the adult variety (I'd have been happy with a bottle of water I was there for so long. :headache:)

Thanks for the crossings!:flower3: I'm praying I hear something today. Really starting to get worried that I'm no longer being considered. :sad1:

I think we may have to hit the hard stuff, if they don't call you soon! We could go for a rum and coke then after that we will get our hair colored and then a mani/pedi! I think after a nice stiff drink our feet won't be so ticklish anymore either! See it is all GOOD! :rotfl2:

:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes Still coming your way!!!!!

I haven't had a rum & coke in .... wow... years! :scared1: What time are you picking me up? :rotfl2:

Thank you for the :goodvibes!:flower3:

I think this sounds like a great plan!!!!

I agree! :thumbsup2 I'm PMing her directions to my house right now. :lmao: Want to come along, too?

So I haven't heard anything on the job front.

Not to mention ... I've been buried in laundry. :laundy:

My new washing machine has a broken option. I called the place I bought it from and told them it was delivered last night, and the end of cycle buzz does NOT work. The guy said, "Did you turn it to on?"

Wow!! Really??!! No, I did not even consider that. :headache:

He asked if I wanted it repaired or a new washer delivered. I told him I didn't care, I just wanted a working end of cycle buzz. He asked if he could call me back in a few minutes to setup either a delivery or repair technician. That was 6 hours ago. So... with all the headache that's come along with buying this washing machine from them, I'm calling first thing in the morning and I won't be as understanding as I have been.

I was okay with the 2:30 delivery turning into 7pm. I was okay with them not having the stainless steel hoses I purchased. I was okay with being told I had to come in for a cash refund. I am NOT, however, okay with being put off to the side because of a defective option - and treated like I'm a moron to boot.

Ahh... enough ranting.

I did the math.... if I have to reschedule for October, I have figured out how much more it will cost. (Pending no discounts, since none are announced, I can't put money on Disney having them for October.)

If we keep most everything as is, we will owe an additional $1,711.60 (plus airfare and event funds - TPL, MNSSHP, etc).

However, the number I am really looking at is $6,331.94 (plus airfare and event funds). :scared1: I added in a few extra.... options. :lmao:

So worst case scenario, I just have to save up $1,700+ airfare/event. I would have roughly less than 17 weeks to save up (to be paid by 45 day mark, if they offered me the job in the next week). I will be sad to not have option # $6,331.94 ... but there's always next year. :lmao::lmao:

UGH on the washer situation! :sad2: It's kind of like when you call a computer company and you get some one in another country who you barely understand and you try to explain your problem, their first response is always "Is monitor plugged in?" :lmao: Seriously?

The extra cost of going in October does not sound great to me, lol. I really hope you don't have to change your reservation but I do hope you'll hear something on the job SOON! :thumbsup2

That is a bunch of hoopla.....I would definitely DEMAND a new one to be delivered pronto. Apparently, you have a defective model (probably a return from someone else :sad2:). If you have a repairman come out it will probably break again with in 6 months, since it is defective. We had the exact same problem with our fridge. Our other one went out and so we order a new one to be delivered ASAP. They kept changing the date for later and later until we finally cancelled and went with another store. The one we got from that store was defective and kept getting an error message for the temp. It never got cold....... They wanted to send out a repairman to fix it. OOOOOH! I was livid from all the runaround we were getting. I demanded to talk with the manager and got a brand new one deliver the very next morning. I went almost 2 wks. without a working fridge. Thank goodness it was super cold outside so I could store our food in a cooler on the back patio.

I hate getting new appliances. When we got our fridge a few months ago ot was a major hassle too. They had a big ad that showed fridges and washers and said take an extra 15% off all appliances. The discount wasn't showing up online. There was fresh snow/ice on the ground and my city doesn't do well with snow. I'd been waiting a couple weeks for a sale and living out of a cooler. I did the live chat and spent almost three hours arguing with the rep about the discount. They gave me every excuse from that is only for small appliances like toasters or that is only for kenmore (um- explian to me why there is a full page ad with a samsung fridge and a whirlpool washer then) I ended up having to get a manager. Luckily I copied the live chat because once they finally credited me the discount they didn't give me back the tax. That was another $45ish. It ended up taking almost a couple months and multiple emails. They rescheduled the delivery On us and when they took it out of the box they ripped the finish off the corner. Fun times lol.

Somewhat useless- but did you get a front loader? I only ask because my friend says that there is some piece it is supposed to come with and if it doesn't then movers aren't allowed to move it. I can ask her for info it it makes a difference to you.

So what are your extras? Is your week the only crowded week in October? Are you going deluxe? What is rpl? (or was it tpl?)

sure, I'm in for the spa day!

The situation with your washer totally sucks, I would be all over them to get a new washer. Waiting 6 hours for them to call you "right back" is ridiculous! Hope you get it all fixed as soon as possible, I can't imagine what I would do without a washer and 6 peoples worth of laundry! Sorry you haven't heard back about the job yet:headache: Is there anyone you can call to get an update?

About your October trip, I too would love to hear about the extra options:thumbsup2

I'll come back later and respond to your comments above. ;)

Last night ... I had my first Disney nightmare. :scared1: I hadn't watched anything scary lately (I avoid scary movies, my imagination is too good to handle them). Actually, the only thing I watched yesterday evening was TRON and ANTM. The whole family watched TRON. It was good ... but I mostly just loved seeing Olivia Wilde playing a role outside of House. :thumbsup2 (Granted, she's back on House now, YAY! But it was nice to see her in something else, ya know?)

So anyway .... yes, I ramble, I'm sorry.

I had nightmares last night, and yes, I did use the plural form. Everytime I'd wake up, I'd fall right back into the nightmare.

The scariest part? The only nightmarish thing about the whole dream was the resort.

Here's the jist ... we arrived at CSR and everything just went wrong ... but only at the resort. The rest of Disney was fine ... just CSR was a complete nightmare in itself. :sad2:

Yes, I am full aware that what happened in my dream is just a dream. I'm sure that when we arrive at CSR in May or October that it will be BEAUTIFUL and we won't have a 6 hour wait to the check-in desk. I'm sure there won't be trash piled up everywhere. I'm sure it won't smell like a dump. I'm sure that our room will be clean - and body-free. :scared1:

Maybe it was something I ate? :lmao::rotfl2: Now that I sit back and think about the dream, it is truly hilarious. Julie Andrews working the check-in desk? How cool would that be??!! (Don't ask.)

Okay, so maybe ANTM had something to do with some of the dream ... but still. The entire time I was in my dream, I just kept saying to myself that something was wrong, Disney is supposed to be magical and perfect. Everytime I'd wake up, I'd be happy (and sad) that was I still in my own bed, but when I'd fall back asleep,I'd be right back in that horrible dream where CSR was just... eww. I know CSR is going to be amazing! And I know that Julie Andrews won't be trying to talk me into a room that I don't want (she did eventually give me Casitas 5 after I insisted 4 or 5 because of DD's asthma).

Yes, I've gone insane. I have lost my mind. :lmao::rotfl2:

Anyway ... I'm giving the store until lunch time to call back today. If I don't hear from them, I'm calling their corporate office and explaining EVERYTHING. Hopefully they will help me. If not, then I'll tell them to come get the washer and give me a full refund and I'll buy from their competitor. :thumbsup2

I've gotten most of the laundry done. My poor dryer can't keep up with the washer. And truly, the "end of cycle buzz" is a luxury ... but I paid for it, so I want it. I don't miss it, since I didn't have that option on my old washer ... but I'd love to have it since it was supposed to come with the washer. :rotfl:

Anyway ... let's see what you lovely friends had to say and then on with house cleaning ... and phone waiting. :cool1:

UGH on the washer situation! It's kind of like when you call a computer company and you get some one in another country who you barely understand and you try to explain your problem, their first response is always "Is monitor plugged in?" Seriously?

The extra cost of going in October does not sound great to me, lol. I really hope you don't have to change your reservation but I do hope you'll hear something on the job SOON!

Yes, I hate how "customer support" places treat you like you're ignorant. I mean, I know there are people out there who don't get it ... but seriously, c'mon! The average Joe does their own troubleshooting BEFORE they pick up the phone. And if they're smart enough to find the number to call, then they're probably smart enough to verify that everything is plugged in and turned to the appropriate setting. I have this issue everytime I call the cable company when our internet dies. So as soon as the tech rep gets on the line and before they can finish asking me if the modem is plugged in, I interrupt and inform them that I am quite capable of my own troubleshooting, everything is plugged in and set correctly, and even though rebooting a PC does not have anything to do with my modem not functioning, I did it as well. So fix it on your end.

Wow, where's the stepping off soapbox smiley? This will have to do: :mic:

I'm hoping I don't have to change my reservation either ... as October is forever away. lol And since there is no discount announced, plus having a slightly longer stay, it did add up. I'm kind of fond of money ... so the less I have to pay on top of what we've already paid the better, but I will go this year.

Praying that they call today. Thank you!!

Sorry to hear your troubles with the fridge. My washer was supposed to be NEW and not a refurb ... but you never know. :headache: I'm calling their corporate office at lunchtime if they don't call back this morning. And since it was a luxury option, I didn't care too much, but I did want it to work since it was a new machine and it was supposed to. I don't think it was too much to ask. It's not like I called and said there was a small scratch or something and demanded a new one NOW.

I vote for the $6331.94. Would love to hear all the extras you added.

Hope you get a speedy solution for your washer tomorrow and hear something SUPER soon!!!!

I totally vote for the $6,000 trip ... but I don't think I can make that much cash appear between now and then, even if I started the job on Monday. :lmao: But that would be a very nice trip.

I'd really settle fo the $4,265.94 option if I had to ... :lmao:

Thanks for the :goodvibes. Will keep you guys posted!!

sure, I'm in for the spa day!

Sorry to hear of your issues. :sad1: I don't understand people some days. Well, okay, most days. I am glad to hear that you did finally get it resolved, but truly sorry to hear it was such a PITA. :headache:

I got a top loader. It's actually this one (from the GE website, which is not where I bought it): http://products.geappliances.com/ApplProducts/Dispatcher?REQUEST=SpecPage&Sku=GTWN5050MWS

We would be going from 10/1 - 10/8 and crowds look very nice according to TP. The Food & Wine festival will be going on, so I know Epcot will probably be a nightmare, but I have lots of time scheduled for Epcot in case we need it to see the WSC.

I'm saving the extras information for something to talk about if I have to reschedule. It'll keep me busy for the next 24 weeks if I don't spill those beans just yet. :lmao: If we keep our May vacation, I'll tell ya what I had planned.

TPL = The Pirates League in MK. Both kids have an appointment for it in May, so I'd be sure to schedule one for October as well (on a non MNSSHP day).

I'm not sure what time TK is picking us up for the spa ... but I'm ready! :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

The washer works, but one of the luxury options doesn't. So I've been doing laundry like a mad-woman. :laundy:

I'm really hoping to hear something today. Today just feels like its going to be a good day ... so ... here's hoping!!! I could call my former boss, but I've already done it once and he said I should be getting called Monday (which I didn't).

So now I'm concerned ... maybe I'm not getting a 2nd interview. Maybe I didn't need a 2nd one. :confused3 Maybe they decided not to do 2nds and they're going over the applicants one at a time in meetings. (Hey, the vote thing would totally work in my favor!)

I've considered changing my FB status to "didn't get the job" and see if anyone takes the bait. :rotfl: (I'm friends with several employees there - some of which I'd be working directly with and have been rooting for me.)

I'll post all about the extras as soon as I know something for sure on when I'm going. Whether it be an October PTR or a still going in May, but this is what I did plan post. ;) I can't let all the good stuff out right now anyway .. gotta have something to talk about for the next 24 weeks.

And if I go with option $1,711.60, there are no changes - except a couple extra nights and couple extra days in tickets. The $6,000 has all the delicious options, but I don't see myself saving up that much cash before then. But I sure would try! :rotfl2: (And it might end up being something in between those options - depending on if there's a discount offered, what it is, and how much time I have to save.)

Wow, I'm awful chatty this morning, and I've not even had :coffee:.

Like I said ... today feels like its going to be a great day. :goodvibes:

C'mon, let's hug this out! :grouphug: The DISboard said I used too many images in my post. I'm allowed 25 and used 43. :rolleyes1

Oh man.....if it's not one thing, it's another, but to have all kinds of issues at the same time??!! So not fair!!! :headache:
Do you want all your Disfriends to email HR and tell them to get off their butts and make the darned decision already!! Give me a break!!! I bet you we'd all be willing to do so!!

I hope you hear something about the job today. And I pity the store regarding your washer if they don't call by noon!!! :lmao:

Well the good news is ... I called the local store around 11 and asked for a manager. (I thought I'd start there first since I didn't speak to one yesterday.) The operater was hesitant but could tell I wouldn't take anything less. She transferred me to someone (I think it was just a store clerk), but at least he got people on the phone. He asked what time they could deliver a new one for me ... so sometime after 2:30 I should be getting a new washing machine to replace my new washing machine. :lmao: Now, why didn't the dude I talked to yesterday do this? It was simple and I was off the phone in less than 5 minutes.

I'm feeling really good about getting the call today. :goodvibes I'm thinking later this afternoon, they'll call and say something... even if it is bad news. At least its news, right? And if not, we'll start up a letter and pass it around for all the DISboard friends to sign. :thumbsup2

Good luck on the job front that is a hard situation. I hope you get it but still dont need to wait for vacation. So much time anticipating and to put it off is hard. Positive thoughts all around.
The washer, well that is a real pita!

I truly hate buying new appliances...there is always a :headache: of some kind associated with it.

Hmmmmm....my DH has strange dreams when he eats anchovies or herring. Did you by chance have those last night? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm sure your stay will be nothing like that. :goodvibes

Thank you!:flower3: I can't imagine waiting even longer than May ... but at least it will be worth it. But I might get lucky. I'm hoping so anyway!

And yes, the washer has been a major PITA ... but at least it should all be over with soon.

I had no idea what entailed to buying appliances. My first washer/dryer was a gift from my dad, but it seemed pretty smooth sailing.

I'm too scared of anchovies (etc) to attempt to eat them .. so no, I did not have them last night. I had mystery meat for dinner and some Jelly Bellies for dessert. Okay, some = LOTS. :rotfl2: (And it wasn't the HP ones, either - they were all normal flavored.)

You are going to guarantee me that I won't find a body in my room, right? You can leave Julie Andrews at the desk - but tell her not to argue with the customer on room preferences. :rotfl:

I have no clue why I had that dream. I told DH about it and he told me men in white coats will be here later to pick me up and take me away. :confused3
:rotfl2::lmao:

:offtopic:

I'm very sad to report that I did not get a call today. :sad1: I had a good feeling that I would ... but it didn't pan out. Must have been gas. :rotfl2: (No, I'm kidding, I really did have a good feeling today was the day ... but nothing happened.)

I did call the local store around 11am today and demanded to speak to a manager. (I dunno if I did or not, but the guy at least did get the delivery manager on the phone - who had not been informed I called the day before.)'

I explained the situation to the guy and he apologized repeatedly for it not being resolved yesterday. He also insisted on replacing the machine instead of having it repaired (which I told him you guys insisted he do anyway). He said he'd have a new one delivered today after 2:30 and I told him I wanted my stainless steel hoses as well. He said done and done.

So around 4pm, the guys show up. They insisted they look at it and try to repair first. I told them they were welcome to look, but they were going to REPLACE not repair it. The guy checked it over and said that it was not fixable and would bring in the replacement. As they were walking out, the one guy stopped and said, "Oh, yeah, I'll totally help you out today, you play WoW!" (WoW = World of Warcraft for those who aren't as game savvy.) We chatted a bit about WoW as he worked and they verified that everything worked.

So now I have a new-new washing machine. :lmao:

I had DH take me out to dinner tonight (he decided McAllister's Deli). They changed the menu very recently and my favorite items were not on it. :headache: I settled for a salad/spud combo, and it was okay. But I told DH that we wouldn't be coming back. I did not like their menu, it no longer states what the item is (it doesn't list the ingredients on the salad/sandwich/spud - it just has the "name" - and I really don't want a spud called "the big nasty" if they aren't going to tell me whats on it). Several other guests were complaining about the new menu as well (their faves were no longer on it as well).

DD's girl scout leader called, they cancelled their next meeting. DD has her 9 yr physical in the morning, so going to let them do a Peak Flow on her and see if she's improving. I'm a bit worried about taking her to Six Flags if I can't get her under control.

I think that's all for now ...

I am so glad that you guys finally got a new washer that worked.:laundy:

It sucks that they changed the menu, hopefully they relized that they screwed up and put it back the way it was.

Hopefully they can get your daughters levels under control, I would hate for her to miss out on SF especially since you don't know what is going on with WDW yet. My kids are already asking me when we are going to go, I guess I should get on line and order those passes.:)

We were supposed to go 4/30, but it got bumped to 5/7. We're going with a large group on the group discount. :thumbsup2

I don't think we're going to take DS (since its all coaster junkies except for DH), but we will be taking DD. It bites that we have to pay full price for her ticket, though. If her asthma isn't under control, I'm not sure how much she'll get to ride. We'll still have to carry the inhaler + spacer with us, like we'll have to do at WDW.

She knows when we're going to Six Flags and she counts it down for me. I love that she's practicing her math (she doesn't realize it though). :thumbsup2

I'm glad I have a working washer. Granted, I got all the laundry caught up before bed last night ... but at least now I have one with a buzzer!:banana::banana:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for a working washer. Now you can do more :laundy::laundy::laundy: :lmao::lmao:

Seriously, glad you have a working machine.

Where do I begin...
First off, that was one crazy dream! I think it is stress induced. You have been dealing with a lot. My favorite part, though, was Julie Andrews :lmao: and what is up with the dead body! :scared1:

So glad to hear that the washer fiasco was resolved and you got your laundry caught up. :thumbsup2

What was the menu item that they took off of the menu? What the heck is a Nasty Spud? That doesn't sound too appetizing. I usually just get the simple McAllister's Club. I was there on Wednesday and didn't notice any changes, but like I said I am a creature of habit and always get the same thing. It would have ticked me off, though, if I noticed that my favorite item had been removed especially after have such a hectic week.

Six Flags sounds like fun! Sorry that you have another worry with dealing with DD's asthma and watching her suffer through it. I really hope that the new meds take effect soon and she is well controlled.

I hope you hear something soon on the job front. :goodvibes:goodvibes So many things are up in the air until you get some news.

You have been under so much pressure the last few weeks. I hope you get some resolution soon!

Hang in there! We are all still crossing everything possible in the hopes you get some good news soon!!!!

You definitely deserve a spa day!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for a working washer. Now you can do more :laundy::laundy::laundy: :lmao::lmao:

Seriously, glad you have a working machine.

Thank you! Hamper is over there if you want to help break this machine in. :lmao:

I hope you hear something soon on the job front. :goodvibes:goodvibes So many things are up in the air until you get some news.

You have been under so much pressure the last few weeks. I hope you get some resolution soon!

Hang in there! We are all still crossing everything possible in the hopes you get some good news soon!!!!

You definitely deserve a spa day!!!

It could very well have been stress induced. I'm prone to nightmares, but have NEVER had a Disney related one. So it was a new one on me. However, I will be totally mad if my room has a body in it when I get to CSR in May (or October). :lmao: I'm not sure what was up with Julie Andrews and her insisting that I really wanted to stay in Casitas 1 - even though I kept telling her 4 or 5 because of DD's asthma. :confused3

I usually do the Pick 2 combo, with a sandwich and a Pot Roast spud. The Pot Roast Spud is gone. The whole dinner menu is gone. Lots of things were just gone. The menu was VERY limited - and just had item names, not descriptions. I was NOT happy. (The Big Nasty spud was okay.)

I realized today that because of this phone-call waiting I've been having to do, I haven't volunteered much at the school, and I haven't gone in for my hair to be cut. :sad2: I started to go in today, but feared Murphy's Law. I'm worried that when they call (if they call) that I won't have much time to prep for the callback - and if I miss the call, I might miss the job. They didn't give me much time the first time they called, and was only doing interviews on that one day ... so I can see them calling and asking if I can be there within a few hours or first thing the next day. And I'm worried if I miss the call, I can't confirm and will miss out. :headache:

DH told me to just forget all about the job. And I'm ready to follow his advice. I searched the Classifieds today, and there was two listings that sounded okay, but it was "fax your resume to this random phone number" or "send your email to this random @ gmail address". I want to know where I'm applying for before I send in my resume. Any company that can't claim their own name on the classified isn't one I'd like to work for.

I'm ready to bring out my foot spa and have a spa day with DD. We could both use it. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the awesome words, TK.:flower3: I appreciate you hanging in there with me. :worship:

After all the discussion, the kids and I decided to go to mcalisters today before the grocery store. I didn't knowit was kids eat free day! What a bargain! The pot roast spud is still on the menu here.
