May 2011 Check In-And May Has Arrived!!!!

Hey All:

I'm going with my DS (4), best friend from Iowa and her DS (5) to celebrate finally graduating from law school (I'm in my 40s)

We're going May 10-13 and I have reservations right now at both HOJO (been there many times before and liked it) as well as the Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites (looks good, but I'm waiting on some DISboard feedback)

So, not sure yet where we'll end up

As much as I'd love to be staying at the GCH, we're staying at the Carousel. Just wanted to mention it since it's listed wrong on the front page. Boy the GCH would be nice! I'll take the Carousel though if it gets me there. Woo Hoo!

Well, with this being a special event (law school graduation) and the wonderful 40% discount for military families, I changed our reservations to the Grand California!! We got a rate of $228/night for a regular room and $288/night for a premier view room (no deluxe available anymore for our dates).

Yes it is almost double HOJO, but well...who knows when Ill have such a good excuse again!!

We will be there May 18 - May 22, have reservations at Desert Inn & Suites. This will be our first trip to DL as a family so we are super excited We wanted to go in May because DH b-day and our anniversary is that month
It'll be DH -he last went about 25yrs ago; our son 15 -he & I went when he was 7; our little princess 5 -1st trip and she is over the moon ; MIL -last went with us about 8yrs ago, says she's worried about keeping up with us ;and myself, I went on a quick day trip about 3years ago in August...it was super super packed We wanted to go for Memorial Day weekend but one of my husband's nieces is having her quince that weekend so we had to change our plans but we're hoping we picked a good time to go in May Sooooo excited, can't hardly wait!!!

The hours for the first 3 days of May are up, but there is no entertainment schedule up at the moment. Oh well, at least the hours are up and that means we are that much closer to our trips!!!

Thanks for organizing the thread!! We cannot wait for May!! In a week and a half, I can call and make our PS for our first night!!!

I am so excited. I have made all our ps reservations and our bbb reservation. Hotels on both sides of the drive are reserved and paid, got our disney gift cards for meals, so we can be prepaid, and thanks to dis, we decided against the dining plan.

Now on to plans for telling dd8 and dd6. We will be there for dd8's 9th birthday and will do BBB and Ariel's on her b-day, so I am super excited and we will leave that part of our trip a surprise.

Dh and I decided to tell them on Easter. We are going to give them each a new tinkerbell suitcase, filled with stuff for our trip, new Disney clothes, autograph books,(I found super cute ones on Ebay, with matching bags), penny books, and quarters and pennies for the machines.

I am so excited I can't hardly contain myself. I haven't been to Disney for 30 years, and the rest of the family will be there for the first time!!!!
