May 2, 2014 - A WONDERous trip through the Locks WBPC

I am trying to post to this board and private message some people on the cruise, but it keeps telling me "you haven't posted enough yet" --- DUH. Very frustrating

You have to have posted 10 posts before you can do PM's s just post some simple 'hello' posts and you will soon be there!!

Almost there, maybe answer some questions about your trip, is this your first Disney cruise?

Have you ever cruised before?

What are you looking forward to most about this cruise?

(it's even better if you answer each question in different posts) ;)

:)YES, we have cruised before

We have done
Veracruz (small tub from Tampa 1987)
Premier (with kids - pre-Disney Looney Tunes boat)
Holland America - Alaska 2007
Azamara Journey Rome to Venice 2010
Azamara Journey Lisbon to Nice 2011
me only RCL from Tampa - March 2012 - 4 night
DCL Magic - 3 night March 2013
Azamara Quest - Baltic - June 2013

So yes -

We love Disney -- have been passholders off and on, love Food and Wine, took the DCL to see how we liked it - while it's not the same experience as Azamara of course, we love kids (as long as we aren't responsible for them lol) and thought it was great.

So looking forward to it.

I have used Cruise Critic for Roll Calls in the past, but Disboards is more confusing I think -- a lot of distractions for a 52 yo with age-induced ADD lol

Thanks for your help!!!:cheer2:

Hi Everyone!

I'm booked on the cruise through the Panama Canal and can't wait! I'm going solo, and this is my 5th Disney cruise. I've been on the Magic three times and the Dream once. Can't wait to sail on the Wonder!

Cruise - Booked!
Hotel prior to the cruise - Booked
Flights - Booked!!
Any idea what I can do in San Diego before my 10:30 p.m. flight???

Interesting, 3 Azmara cruises. I seriously looked at them when they were first acquired by Celebrity but never got around to it. One of these days we will try them. How did you like Azmara? Nice an quiet? :thumbsup2

Welcome Stacey :goodvibes

We are staying the night in San Diego before our flight out on Sunday, and never been there before!
But I'm sure others will be along to help.

How is the trivia on a PC cruise? Does anyone know if they will do a Progressive Trivia?
We love to play trivia. And Spades, if anyone is interested.:)

Welcome, Stacey! We are not staying in San Diego, we are going to Joshua Tree NP!

Is there any family or person who wants to go in with us, 2 adults, to rent a private van in Puerto Vallarta for 4 hours? Port excursions that I have read involve walking on cobblestones, stairs, things I would rather avoid.

Bobbi:goodvibes

Bobbi, Bano and would like to join you.pirate:

to 10 days or so of little to no electronic communications. Read an actual book and lounge around, work out, eat, drink and be merry. Heard this is the best Disney cruise -- can't wait to explore the ship and see what's what.

I would also like to do that.

We're on that tour, too. Last time we were in Key West courtesy of Disney we weren't there long enough to take the tour - it wasn't offered. Did enjoy a breakfast out on the island, though. Nothing is too early for us!
Anything before 11:00 AM us too early for me. I am a night owl. I like the sound of the tour but not the time. We will see if I keep it.

I have received other PM's, and have submitted the form for 6 people. If you PM me with your numbers AND if when Disney contacts me as they say they will, and we can change, I will include your numbers.

I will edit the previous inquiry and say we are booked.

Thank you.

I missed you in the previous post. Likewise PM me....that would make 12 the Max.

I will let you know when I hear from Disney. They say in 5 days or so.

http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/c...vallarta-mexico/private-vans-puerto-vallarta/

That's the link to DCL's description of the private van. It says you can contact them as soon as you book, so for I know, I may be too late, I missed the directions. So if there are others that want to get a group, I'm sending us all Pixie Dustpixiedust: that all groups get a van!

Bobbi:goodvibes

The description doesn't say immediately contact them when you book, it says you can contact them after you check in. Even if it is 1 minute after you finish the check in. I think that you can do this anytime after you check in, and that after you contact them it will take 7 days for them to get back to you.:goodvibes

I live in San Diego so I could help with this, what are you interested? Within walking distance of the cruiseship terminal there's the Star of India, which is a ship, connected with the Maritime Museum of History, there's also the Midway Museum (Aircraft Carrier) and about half a mile down the road there's a big mall called Horton Plaza if you're interested in shopping. There's also SeaPort village but I find that to kind of be a tourist trap, but good for killing time at, it's the typical tourist shops, kite store, jewelry shop, non descript seafood restaurants and the like. If you have access to transportation and have other questions about the area feel free to ask :)

Thank you so much for your response! I will not have a car, but can walk or take a taxi to one of the areas you have provided. ::yes:: Thanks again!
