I was reading last night about your cruise, lots of unhappy people.
So the 20% off, isn't it usually 10% off for future cruise? Was it just this cruise that is 20% off?
I find the price of this cruise so puzzling. It is so much lower than other cruise lines. Not complaining!!!
The March 1-9th experience was definitely not the best that Disney had to offer. As a former Disneyland crew member, I know they were doing all they could to make a good situation out of bad weather and the KSF chaos; I have to give them credit. It was still very sad; my kids had saved their allowance for almost a year to make this happen, and CC was their ultimate goal. There were many tears shed when we had to pass by CC after three attempts - we could see it but couldn't get there. My son pleaded with Captain John to let us row in on lifeboats... It would have been easier if the kids were younger; mine knew exactly what they were missing out on, and oh, how they had worked to make this dream happen. Life lessons are not learned easily. I was proud that they turned it around the next day and made the best of the hand they were dealt. (Actually, that positive attitude was what convinced me to book this one for us)
Regarding the discount: They offered the normal 10% off if you booked another cruise onboard, but the repositioning cruises had a special 20% with a $200 onboard credit offer. I decided not to pass that up. It will be pushing it to pull them out of school for that length of time, but since it's 2 of the last 3 weeks of school, it's a bit more managable. Yes, they'll miss the special end-of-year field trips, but this is a much better field trip! Now to find a second job to pay for this, and the kids have begun saving their chore money again. They're shoveling snow for the neighbors right now to put in the boat bank. Again, life lessons...
