We're joining you!

We are Dawn, Steve, Calum (6) and Eilidh (2), from Scotland. We sailed on the 2011 WBTA and made some wonderful friends, and are tagging along to sail with them next spring.

The WBTA was our first TA, and our first sailing on Disney - we had a fantastic time, and it really was special. We are all looking forward to getting to know you all better and sailing with you next year!

Welcome to the thread! :yay:

It's good to see so many people who have done the TA's before returning to do them, they must be good! :-)

Hi All,
I just wanted to check in now that my dd and I have officially booked this cruise. We are so excited:banana::banana::banana::banana:!! This will be our first Transatlantic cruise (our 8th overall). We did the Med in 2007 and LOVED Barcelona! I am so excited to go back there.
I haven't had a chance to read all the posts, but I plan on catching up in the next couple of days. In the meantime, hello to all!

~Melissa

I agree! It's largely because my Disboard friend Meriweather talked so much about the WBTA cruise that she did with a friend that I began looking at that sort of cruise. I'm very excited that we've booked this EBAY one!

Hello! :)

Hello hello...
We have ( finally) decided to stop waiting for the WBTA...and book this one instead. We had a 'floating' no pun intended, placeholder lying around...waiting waiting waiting....and now here we are.

We have designated this our honeymoon cruise...we've been married for years, but never had a proper honeymoon...and this is pretty much our first decent holiday without children in forever...so here we are.

'We' are Maria ( Maza)...and Dave ( fluffy bunny) .
This will be our 7 th DCL cruise, but our first TA.:cool1:

Hi!!
Three more for the list.:yay::yay::yay:

We have done numerous cruises and thoroughly enjoyed last years WBTA.

Looking forward to the lovely long relaxing sea days and not having jet lag when we get home

I havent been able to wade through the whole thread (yet) but hope to see some familiar names from last year.

We are Bren, Paul & Georgia (will be 8)

Bren:wave2:

Just booked this cruise this morning :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Never have done a TA, but have cruised the Med, and a few more on DCL too and am SUPER EXCITED about being on the ship this long...

It is myself (Beverly), my DH Eje (pronounced A-ya'), DS Anders (13) and DD Emily (9) and we are from Kansas....

Looking forward to meeting you all, this trip can't come fast enough.

Welcome to our new families! It will be a pleasure getting to know you before we sail :)

I've been so busy lately, but am looking forward to doing some planning soon! I wonder if this board will be as chatty as the WBTA 2011 board was... you couldn't shut us up!

Hopefully it will pick up closer to the cruise - I am looking forward to meeting you all and especially all of the SEA DAYS on this cruise! Love the DCL....

Sarah, Mandy,

Just saw this on the main board: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2924762

Guess he's feeling a bit more energetic than he was last September!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: too funny, I had to show Brian and we couldn't stop laughing just remembering very night how we would wait to see what he brought Brian, I'm sure in 14 nights he never got it right once:rotfl2:

It was a good job we we were all so laid back about it :thumbsup2

Plamen was lovely enough, but I think he was in a lot of chronic pain (bad back?) and he just didn't seem to have his heart in it. His assistant, Amanda, was a lot more on the ball and I wonder if she's been promoted since September.

I still remember the ubiquitous brown sauce that had a different description each night (but was the same sauce every time). Brian's menu "choices", the idea that the kitchen wouldn't serve a child a steak unless it was well done, my weird ability to be allergic to the entire desert menu, and the fact that we were always the last table served (no matter when the orders were taken) will be a huge memory of two weeks of dinners on the Magic.

But the company was fabulous, and dinner was a highlight every day just for that! :thumbsup2

I know she was still on the Magic in December --- Curt saw her pic on a high school buddy's FB page that had her as an asst server on their cruise then. I know she had been moved FROM the Dream to the Magic just prior to our WBTA... but why? She did do the special thing for the kids of making Mickey Mouse heads out of ketchup though - and that was the only unique "kid thing" I ever saw either of them do.

Ditto about the company at dinner! At least now we know the expectation for dinner and can lower it so we know DCL meets it this time. Of our four cruiselines (and 8 other cruises), this was the most lacking in dining, but the company MORE than made up for it!! :thumbsup2 And by golly, I am finding some cheap wine glasses for the stateroom so I don't have to go ask for wine glasses at the bar every time for having wine in the cabin - learned that lesson as well on DCL! ;)

I can't believe we are getting super close to the one-year countdown!!! :dance3:

Hi there,

I have always wondered whether it would be different travellng in a different direction having done the WBTA's. The reason I was thinking of doing this cruise, is that I have retired aged 46 and my wife is busy working and cannot get the time off work as we shall be doing other cruises later in the summer and then the WBTA, when it's finally annouced.

My big problem is that? Is it strange to do such a family cruise solo? I know some ladies get together and share cabins, although I haven't heard of men doing similar.

You never know I might just do it for the experience, although my wife won't be happy!!
