I'm sailing on Fantasy in a couple of week and now considering booking this cruise whilst onboard to take advantage of the OBC and discount. Is there any reason why those wouldn't apply to booking this cruise whilst onboard?

Will be the first time I have done a Transatlantic. Will be my 3rd DCL, 1st on Magic but I'm a season cruiser with RC. Just fancied having a more leisurely cruise.

We booked onboard and got the discount so you will be fine.

This will be our first Transatlantic and third DCL too. :thumbsup2

Thanks David, I read your Fantasy MV TRs over on our 'brit' board - Saw you were getting quotes for future cruises, didn't realise you were booked for this one. :wave2:

Hi David,

Just wanted to say I saw your fantastic TR over on the Brit forum - not sure if I'm allowed to say the actual website ;-) - it was brilliant! Loved all of your pictures of the Fantasy and very jealous of some of the gifts you got for being on the maiden voyage.

It's on the UK Trip Reports section here as well so I think you'll get away with saying the Brit forum. ;) :thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed it. :goodvibes

Usually don't get too many travel companions from near by:) Well I have a couple of weeks to make my mind up and then assuming I am set, I'll book as soon as I can on board Fantasy :)

Hi Sonja! I didn't realize you were sailing again too. Yes, you are right there were several college age kids on board. We also met quite a few DWorld cast members on break on the cruise all university kids as well. Glad to hear you're joining us!
I can't wait to read through all these threads to see who else is on!! Love the TransAtlantics. I would like to sign up for champagne girls, FE, candy swaps and whatever else we have going. Happy Cruising everyone!!! and yes i liked the westbound better ... kids in school this year so ... it will only be eastbound for us. (but very very happy to do this again!!!!)

This all applies to us as well! Booked onboard, got the discount, our first transatlantic and it will be our third cruise!

We are heading S. Cal to take the Wonder to Hawaii - Aloha!
So won't be updating the roll call page on the thread web until we get back. Continue to submit your info; name, disname, location, and crusiers in your party, including sex and age of kids.

I LOVE your pictures from Disney Paris!!! You take beautiful photos!!! We plan on spending a few days there after the cruise. I haven't gotten that far in the planning so those are the first pics I've looked at of that park. Can't wait!!!! :yay:

Thank you so much, that means a lot! :)

That's a great idea to spend a few days there after the cruise, I believe you can easily fit everything into 3/4 full days.

Are you planning on going anywhere else?

We're thinking about this one...but are most people coming into Houston then shuttling to Galveston?

Also what are the advantages and disadvantages of gty status?

3-4 days is kinda what I figured for DLP. I noticed you guys went longer than that and was going to ask you, so I'm glad you brought it up. So far, the tentative plan is- hop a train to Paris from Barcelona, see the Eiffel Tower and whatever else we can fit into a day. Then head to DLP for a few days, then maybe to London for a day and fly home from there. This is VERY tentative and will probably change multiple times once I really start planning out the details. If you have suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Barcelona -> Paris on Train will be expensive and take a while. I personally would fly. Both have major airports in them and european one way flights are pretty cheap if you shop around. I know easyjet fly that route and a random search through up flights for £53 (about $85). Flight time (Air) is about 60-90 mins.

There is apparently a new high speed rail link go between Madrid and Paris, I am not sure if Barcelona will be covered by this link also. I also wouldn't know the best place to buy cross country european rail tickets. As you'd have to cross (or go through) the Pyrenees flying would get my vote anyway.

We're joining you!

We are Dawn, Steve, Calum (6) and Eilidh (2), from Scotland. We sailed on the 2011 WBTA and made some wonderful friends, and are tagging along to sail with them next spring.

The WBTA was our first TA, and our first sailing on Disney - we had a fantastic time, and it really was special. We are all looking forward to getting to know you all better and sailing with you next year!

We are still :yay::yay::yay::yay: that you guys booked!! :thumbsup2

I really think Disney should have sold roundtrip TA tickets since we are on the "return cruise" back to Europe!

I would say 3/4 days is perfect, enough time to see everything and do favourite ride/attractions again etc. We went for longer because of the photographs as silly as it sounds, the first lot of night shots required hanging around for over 3 hours which is a big chunk out of a day! We also wanted the time to chill by the hotel pool as well because we had spent 3 full tiring days in Paris beforehand.

If possible as well, and if you haven't been to London already, I would maybe spend 2 full days there? That way you can see all the major sights easily. I live only 2 hours from London and we visit about 5 times a year, we never get bored of the place ;-)

As OP said, I would also fly from Barca to Paris...that why you could maybe squeeze another day out of your trip?

:)
