May 18, 2013 Magic EBTA Part Two - From Tejas to España

I sat down and read my docs yesterday. We did the air with Disney that came with ground, boy did the docs get me even more confused on what I should do.
Hope this may help for others flying in as to what to do when you land.
:crazy2:
Thanks for doing the detective work for us. We'll see you at the Marriott.

5 WEEKS!!!:cool1::yay::cool1: but who's counting right?!?! :rolleyes1
:cool1::beach:pixiedust:

I have a question, who of you are going to be on the first Med? My family and I are on it but not really involved in the group as some other family is meeting us on it and we figure we'll be too busy with that to do and Dis stuff. But I am curious who will be sticking around with us. I know DisneyMouseHouse and Eje are on there. Anyone else?

Hey! I am new too dis boards; my fiancé usually sorts everything out when it comes to holidays. So we are going to be on the transatlantic this from Texas to Barcelona. I know the fish extender is now closed but I would love to be involved in other activities that are being organised whilst we are away. Looking forward to the holiday, 5 weeks today x

We finally got our plane tix this week. Ended up getting a great fare for direct flights, and got to use the vouchers from our Tahoe trip so saved a bunch of $.

Is anyone bringing "real" formal wear? Tony will still bring a suit, Grayson and Jonah wear a tie (but no jacket), and I usually wear a floor-length gown to formal night. But I'm thinking of wearing a short dress instead (kinda bummed about it, though).

great news about your flights.

We are bringing formal wear - DH is bringing a tux and 2 other suits and I'll be bringing several long dresses.

I don't own "real" formal wear, and I'm not bringing a dress. The dress gets worn only on cruises with my DH, and only because he ask me to.

Emiel is bringing his tuxedo and i'm bring my formal dress.

I will be bringing one long dress and one cocktail dress for the two formal nights and oddly enough, my sister will be wearing the same dresses for those nights as well. Short dresses for the rest of the nights

DH will be packing his Tux but not a suit. After thinking about the last 14 day cruise, he wore the tux 3 nights (2 formal and Palo) and only wore the suit once on semiformal night. So he will only be bringing his tux and blazer.

Thanks, guys. Tony doesn't own a tux (only time to wear one in Hawaii is a wedding, and hopefully that doesn't happen for him again haha), so has do go the suit route. I refuse to buy the boys suits, because they grow so darn fast (like crazy fast -- don't know how my kids are in the 99th percentile for height), so they just have dress shirts and ties. I think I'll bring my lighter weight long dress and a few short ones.

Lucky you, WVURunner! I wish I had someone to trade with in my family!

no Tux or formal dress here .. dressy pants and top for me and a suit for my son Geoff. Maybe I should rethink this but the weight is an issue..bring the wine or an additional dressy dress?? HMMM..I think the Wine wins..LOL

Oh no, we aren't trading, we just BOTH OWN a lot of the same dresses! Guess we have similair taste and have been bridesmaids in the same weddings.

I tried shoe swapping once with my older sister and friend (they are 10s and I am an 11) on a cruise and it didn't work out as we all wanted to wear the same pair on the same night! Plus my feet were cramped the whole time. So I will be bringing my own pairs even though little sis is a 10.

It doesn't surprise me we have the same dresses as all three of us will pick out and send my Mom the same birthday/Mother's day card even though we all live hundreds of miles away from each other!

Our hope is to pack the dress clothes then buy the heavy booze and toiletries once we arrive. I woudn't want to have to choose!

It is interesting to me to hear sisters be so similar. I had four sisters, lost one to cancer in 2004. Though we all look similar, we could not be more different. Our tastes in clothing, careers, education, men and how to raise our children are as different as is possible.

Welcome aboard. Please check the first page of the this thread to see all the activities planned. Tell us about you and your fiance. My name is Noel and my DH's name is John. We are from Woodside, California. This is our third TA trip though the first one EB.

Welcome!

My floor-length gown is chiffon, so high five, it hardly weighs anything!

We don't have a weight issue with our bags, even with the alcohol in them. Is it because each of us brings a suitcase?

Interesting about you and your sisters! You should wear the same dress one night and then take a picture with the boys haha.

We each bring our own and we always have weight issues but I bring a dress for each night so I am sure that doesn't help matters.

We are totally hamming up the dresses, might as well run with it! Since my sister's DH isn't tagging along, I am going to want a pic of each of us on my husband's arm in matching dresses. I think we are bringing like 4 or 5 of the same dresses!

Same here, always have weight issues on bags. Worst was the 600 Euro charge on Air Berlin in 2010.

The funny thing is we aren't similar at all. My older sister and I are polar opposites! My older sister is very outgoing, very artistic, took dance, wasn't into academics, hated sports and the outdoors, is into fashion, disorganized, and is a ditz. Then there is me: the exteremly shy, nerdy one who was into math and science who loves sports, anything to with the outdoors and is exteremly organized! Little sister is a mix of both of us, loved ballet but was the star of her basketball team, didn't like academics but is organized, loves her make-up and fashion but can camp and rock climbing with the best of us!

My sisters and I would have never picked the same clothes, hairstyles or cards for parents. Your sisters sound a lot like mine!
