We did Prime Time 50's Cafe - 10 years ago

I know that the staff are supposed to act like your mom and tell you to eat all your food or you get no dessert. Usually DH and I enjoy fun things like that, but our server was a bit over board, and made our dinner there uncomfortable. We will not be back there.

How do you make bbq shrimp?

Speaking of..... Does anyone have a recipe for coconut cake?? I want to make one for my dh for his bday.

Use the number 21/25 count shrimp....marinate
1 1/2 Tablespoon minced lemon grass
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon ground chili paste
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Put on bamboo skewers then onto the BBQ ...grill about 2/3 minutes on each side.

EASY COCONUT CAKE

1 pkg. deluxe white cake mix
1 (6 oz.) pkg. fresh frozen coconut
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1 (12 oz.) carton non-dairy whipped topping

Prepare cake mix as directed on package for sheet cake recipe. While cake is baking, combine half of the coconut with the milk and sugar; set aside. Remove cake from oven and pour coconut mixture evenly over cake. Cover with foil and refrigerate 3 to 4 hours or overnight. Spread whipped topping over cake. Sprinkle with remaining coconut. Store in refrigerator.
Serves 12 to 15.

I sent down 'surprise' packages to DH, DD and DS! Then when we checked in they told them at the FD: "we have boxes for you" and DH was soo confused!! it was fun!
